I love this!!! Going to try that oil out for sure. I've had major breakage from locticians forcing a grid pattern when hair has always had a free-form pattern.
I love this video for many reasons. 1.) I don't use gel on my locs (because my loctician didnt) and if I do it's only at the edges; I use aloe vera gel. But, I've only done that about 5 times and I've had my locs for 3.5 years. So yes, it's possible to retwist without gel. 2.) My new growth looks like his at 6 weeks 😂. I could not imagine 8 months! Love this video. Started my Locs a little over a year ago and I’ve only had my hair professionally retwisted once. Now with this pandemic and all I’ve tried to retwist my own Locs about 3 weeks ago and I already look due for another retwist. I like the point you made about having to find which oil works for our own hair and scalp. My Locs are loose and a bit dry...just trying to figure out how to maintain them
This video was EXACTLY what I was looking for! Techniques, products, and the two strand twist. Thank you! I want to really rid my regimen of excess product and go the oil and water route for retwist. How do you feel about castor oil or a castor oil mix for retwist?

I listen to your voice and so help me it’s the best sleep I ever had. It’s the most calming thing ever to me. Also, thanks for the advice lol!
I have learned so much from your channel. I'm on my 3rd set of locs and with each set I never used gel. Same with my husbands hair. Only jojoba oil, although we have tried coconut oil, but neither of our hair liked it. After watching your 1 year no retwist, my husband stopped retwisting his hair as much and it's crazy but most of his loose strands have gone back into his locs. But thank you so much for these videos.
My sister I really appreciate you taking your time to show the world how to retwist dreads properly. It will be my first time tomorrow doing this. With your help and instructions I know I will do great
Thank you!!! This was my favorite video from all the others researched on here. Started my Starter locks three months and had two retwists since, I prefer one wash/retwist every month. Unfortunately, My third retwist is left up to me due to the quarantine pandemic right now. I’m going to follow your method! My hair is about thick as your sons. Thank you!!!!
Girllll, dont worry about what other ppl say. Looks to me like ur doing a great job. As long as ut getting the result u want, keep doing what ur doing. I just started my lock journy around the beginning of December 2021 and i have to use some type of holding product because i have like mix ppl hair so if i dont use something imma have a head ful of spiral curls. But u did a great job.
Honey listen I love how you take care of your baby boy locs!! I feel like anyone with anything negative to say is hating on the fact that they haven’t found and mastered their own technique and that is fine. I had a problem with lint as well and I started using a hard brush when I condition my locs it’s been 3 years and the lint is down from that and me wrapping them up. I enjoyed this video 🥰🥰
People are trtippin'. I dont use gel all the time when retwisting. To me its barely a difference as long as you oil it like you did n the video. I Iove your videos because you are a hair care specialst as well as a stylist and technician. I'm a stylist as well. I am 3 yrs loc'd. My hair is fine and i can only go 5-6 weeks without a retwist. I use a rose water vitamin e blend spray daily and when retwisting. Thanks Yannie the Locoloist! ❤❤My new growth grows outside my locs. ❤
I love the patience and care you show for your family’s hair!! I’m 3yrs loc’d so is one of my son’s I have been learning to retwist my son’s hair can’t wait until we reach our 5yr mark!!

So I have been searching that internet RUclips on how to do her locks. Finally follow me. I run across your post video and it is absolutely wonderful. Simple direct. No bunch of use this and use that water twist clamp. Love it. Keep up the great work. God bless
Beautiful locs! I want to try this with my son. He only has locs on the top and I also retwist when he wants. We(there are 2 others with locs in the house) use a lot of gel and spritz and I know that's not good for the hair. Im excited to try oil only. Thanks for the vid! Subscribing!!

This video is awesome!! It really helped with learning the process so I can help with my partners hair. thank you so much for being so detailed with your products and reasons why you do each method! your son is so handsome too!! 🖤
My hair used to grow out of the loc when I was still only using palm rolling as my reloc technique. However, when it got too much and I started experiencing serious thinning, I tried out interlocking and it worked for me. Since then, my hair started growing into the loc and I never experienced thinning again.
I say it’s ok but you can’t neglect those hair, especially at the base. You need them to keep the locs strong. So would separate after washing and reinforce each Loc by wrapping loose hair around without retwisting

Omg I’m so glad I came across this video for 2 reasons..my bf just locd his hair so I was learning how to retwist when the time came AND your son havin sensory problems..I never knew the name for one of twins are like this..he’s 4 and it takes so long to brush his teeth cause he hates the water and toothpaste on his hand/face! 🥰🥰🥰 following
I just discovered your channel and I have to tell I can’t sleep without something playing in the background. I use to play movies but it never let me get that deep relaxing sleep.
His hair is beautiful, thanks so much for the no oil retwist.
Go!! Zion shake them gorgeous locs❤️
My sister I really appreciate you taking your time to show the world how to retwist dreads properly. It will be my first time tomorrow doing this. With your help and instructions I know I will do great
Wow sis, you did that without gel?! Ya boy fresh! So cute. Kudos to him for sitting there an extra 30 minutes for the two-strand twists.
MY DEAR SISTA YOU CONTINUE TO DO YOUR THING I LOVE SEEING YOU USING THE OILS THAT WORK FOR YOUR SON 🙅🏽♀️🌸🙅🏽♀️🌸🙅🏽♀️🌸🙅🏽♀️ BE BLESSED 💜💜💜💜 U
Congrats on reaching 100,000!!! I agree that a mother knows what's best for her children. Love your videos!!!
You such a sweet mom,.. thank you taking the time. I’m new to your channel. I enjoyed this
Love it 🇭🇹🇭🇹 I just started my journey about 3 weeks ago
I really appreciate this video not many ppl are showing you the full process because they want to profit thank you luvvvvv
Lol when shook his hair 14:40 😂😂 you guys are a beautiful family 💕💕
His hair & skin is beautiful!!! He's so handsome! Good job, Mom!!!
Your son's dreadlocks are the best you do a good job
I love the patience and care you show for your family’s hair!! I’m 3yrs loc’d so is one of my son’s I have been learning to retwist my son’s hair can’t wait until we reach our 5yr mark!!
I simply love this video and made it so simple for me. I have a child that has CP. She's 43. It's challenging to get people to be patient with her. So I have been searching that internet RUclips on how to do her locks. Finally follow me. I run across your post video and it is absolutely wonderful. Simple direct. No bunch of use this and use that water twist clamp. Love it. Keep up the great work. God bless
GOD bless you too❤
I don't know you but I like you. You are a genuinely good mother. May you and your boys stay blessed 🙌🏽
That is so amazing “our” plaque! I am so proud of you and congratulations! 👍🏽👏🏾
Gypsy Curls thank you 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
your technique is your technique. some people seem to forget that. continue the great work on your channel.
Omg! I’m soo happy I found your video! Will help me retwist my son’s locs. Big money saver!
Whoever is reading this may God bless you abundantly in the name of Jesus with wisdom, knowledge and understanding. May you be blessed with the desires of your heart I love you all with the love of Christ God bless you and keep going, In the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth Amen!
Thanks dear 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Likewise too in Yahushua's Mighty Name.
Amen and thank you ☺️
Zion is a handsome little prince, OMG!! His hair is amazing! Good job mama. I'm soooooo tempted to loc my daughters hair, too. Congrats on the YT Award. Your videos are awesome.
This video is awesome!! It really helped with learning the process so I can help with my partners hair. thank you so much for being so detailed with your products and reasons why you do each method! your son is so handsome too!! 🖤
You did an awesome job with his hair, I want mine to look like that, strong, beautiful, and healthy looking.
Is it ok to go 2-3 months without a retwist if your hair grows away from the lock? If so how do you avoid thinning?
My hair used to grow out of the loc when I was still only using palm rolling as my reloc technique. However, when it got too much and I started experiencing serious thinning, I tried out interlocking and it worked for me. Since then, my hair started growing into the loc and I never experienced thinning again.
I say it’s ok but you can’t neglect those hair, especially at the base. You need them to keep the locs strong. So would separate after washing and reinforce each Loc by wrapping loose hair around without retwisting
DXLYN locs thank you so much. 🙏🏾
Awe zion is so handsome you did an amazing job on his hair now its time to try this on my husband and later on my son
Zion has the best locs confirmed
He is so patient and well behaved. Great job mommy! His hair is beautiful.
Thank you 🥰🥰🥰
I envy his hair from the beginning to the end every video every retwist I have watched it’s amazing . I don’t even know him and I’m proud of his hair 😂that’s some hair I will fight for
Yaaas!! Honestly he didn’t even need a retwist !! After that wash they looked so good even then. His locs are beautiful !!!!
