Fun fact if you knew the right command and were ona certain windows 10 beta you could hack in what was effectively windows 11s start menu layout
Do you have any images of this?
that was Windows 10x..?
No there was a build in Windows 10 that has the Windows 11 start menu but sharp corners
only a couple months ago windows 11 got leaked i remember all the hype and reviews of it
a hacker leaked it so Microsoft had to launch it? haha
@@PopCapMusicTrending nope, i'm pretty sure they leaked it on purpose so that people could review it and make suggestions about it so they could add stuff to the final OS
@@HuMan-bEing132 source?
@@PopCapMusicTrending my source is that i made it the fuck up
I heard that Microsoft didn't release Windows 9 simply because they were actually working on it, but because of Windows 8's bad reputation, they had to release Windows 8.1. And because of it they decided that there is no reason to release Windows 9 because 8.1 is a replacement of it.
Also, the gap between 8 and 8.1 to 10 (with almost two numbers of difference) would pretty much sell it as an entirely new thing separated from 8 and its bad reputation, doing exactly the same as 8.1 but this added up numbering clearly did a favor to Microsoft, more people updated to Win 10 than Win 8.1
In some places 9 is an unlucky number
@@gamepadstudios3097 that has nothing to do with it why does the iPhone 13 exist
9 just isn't that marketable
Fun fact: Because they skipped Windows 9, they were considering this number instead of 11, so until they decided, project name was Windows 9/11
source: trust me bro - Abraham Einstein
Dude just why?
@@lilweedsmokee it's just a harmless fun fact, right?
Right? 😢
@@Astromamut you know what happened to world trade center it is called 9/11
Daily driving Linux for now, and Windows 10 on dual boot. Used Windows 11 on my friends laptop, count me out
I myself can't even force myself to use 10. I will die on 8 if I must, but for now I'm sticking to Vista and 7.
Obligatory Linux comment
Since when is a bit of a graphical overhaul worth an entire new OS?
Can't even install a different Window Manager
MacOS with a different background and name with minor bug fixes.
@@iansarmiento23 dislike apple as well.
at least there's no ads plastered all over the OS and have a proper shell.
@@MilitantPacifista atleast
Not true. There are major differences between 10 and 11. The TPM requirement, for example.
@@50PullUps also the android streamline integration
I still haven't installed Windows 11.
But Imma doing pretty fine.

Jk
This is only my theory but perhaps because Apple decided it was time to change to MacOS 11 instead of just MacOS 10.X, Microsoft didn't want to be left behind and changed this version initially intended to be a simple Windows 10 update as Windows 11
You know, I have the same theory, but I'm pretty sure it's just intentional. Apple just released macOS 13 and rumors (if not official statements) have spread saying that Microsoft is currently working on Windows 12.
#Justice4Windows9
In some places 9 is a bad or unlucky number so iOS and windows skipped it.
@@gamepadstudios3097 The iOS didn’t skip 9 but the iPhone did.
I had a similar reaction to Windows 9 when I heard the hardware requirements for 11. I had 20+ machines in active use, all of which run Windows 10 flawlessly. ONE of them meets the hardware requirements for Windows 11. I run a Linux lab now.
Windows 10 might not have been the last Windows version, but with ads in the explorer, an even more intrusive, bloated and even more resource hungry OS as well as the need to register your account, Windows 10 is the last Windows version I ever used.
Been using Linux for 4 months now and I don't think I ever want to switch back.
ok
Same but I still find myself going back to windows for gaming
@@supergoku975 I didn't really find gaming to be an issue. Maybe for AAA releases, since Nvidia's proprietary drivers do actually offer great performance on Windows compared to Linux (I get consistent 60fps on High under Windows, and consistent 40fps on low in Linux in Cyberpunk for example), but most titles for me run just fine on Linux.
no bitches?
imagine going to terminal for a browser
I'm still confused when people say they see ads in File Explorer, I can't see any, is it just me or what
Fun Fact: Windows 11 was in early early development back in 2016 with Private Insider Builds with Tabs and the new Action Center and continued on until 2021 so we can say that Windows 11 has been in Development for 5 years!
After 5 years in development, hopefully, it was the wait! (it wasn't)
There actually were a 2018 leaked dev build with ugly-ahh start menu, that looked like Windows 11 one, but square and tile UI.
what is this build@@андрей_свиридов
@andrey_sviridov oo, where can i find out more about it?
I digged in and removed some system appx on my end and you know what? The interface got back to win10, partially. So win11 in fact is another layer of win10. They still keep making this worse. Instead of replacing the interface they make a layered upgrade only.... i assume this will never end.
a guess of mine is they took the entire 10x source code then they started to fiddle around with it, Then..11 was born
If only Microsoft kept the OS secret 🙏
Nice
They need, instead, to strip away the newest useless features and confusing change and create Windows 7+
++
I'm still with windows 7 and I ain't changing
No
Windows 11 is not that great from a consumer perspective in the long run because it is designed to be more closed off like Apples OS, because it doesn't allow older software to work and with new software developers will have to ask Microsoft for permission, which is something that has never really been done on windows.
Here is a video explaining that.

cos 7 8 9 ...
you know, you know.
Microsoft is slow that they had windows X but lost windows mobile.
I want Windows 7-2
I want Longhorn... the real Longhorn. Not What Vista became.
Windows 5..? damn /s
Windows 9 should be a backwards compatible version for old hardware that can't handle Win 11. With greatly reduced ram and harddrive space requirements. Like an official upgrade for everyone still using Windows Xp.

Depends, a lot of people were having serious problems with vista to the point where Microsoft got sued for property damage and false labelling. However they did manage to fix the issues and tbh it's still my favourite today alongside it's beta sister Windows Longhorn which I still use today.
