That's a fantastic adventure van layout with pretty much all you'd need and lots of space for all the toys. Nice job!! I've saved it and will be rewatching for inspiration with my next van!

I've seen someone do it, two aluminium panels with plywood fixed on top that just drop into side supports. If i build another van I'd have your layout maybe in a mwb Ducato but with the removable bed platform. I think its a shame to have a van and not be able to hawl furniture or the odd moto day out. Seeing as yours is very open is there any reason you didn't go for a lift out or folding bed? Thanks again
I did it in the last van and never actually moved them so thought it was pointless. Although if I wanted to remove the bed it would be 4 bolts as it’s made from inistrut

Van is awesome and your unistrut bed genius. I'm following you down the unistrut route but can't find the 3 sided bars anywhere. Who did you get them from? All dealers I've spoke to only do solid sides. Thanks Dave

Crackin build ... What quick release connections do you use for the compressor? Also looking for the right inflator that fits onto the full valve (current one screws onto valve core and not an issue yet but prefer to be able to seat a tyre with the core removed)
There for the water and gas on a mig welder but just so happen to be the correct size. And ye you will have to make up your own inflator from a track pump hose and a cheap inflator. Or go full hog and buy the park tool one.

We've just bought our van - just starting the conversion. I've got an old Giant E+0 and we've guessed at 4hrs at 170W/hr charging it to full from 25% - I know you got a 1500W inverter but if you only used it for the ebike charging, what size inverter would you get?
Chris Haresign I still wouldn’t be able to change my ebike fully with the 2 110 ah and a 1500 what inverter. Tbh that’s the only thing Iv put 240 in for. My calculations worked out I’d get about 75% charge before I’d need to start the engine. I do have a really good split charge so that’s not to much of a problem.
Got you. Did you go for the beefy 1500w for the compressor and power that the other 240v stuff needed - ie I’m trying to work out what size inverter. We reckon that the giant charger will be the biggest power draw in our van.
Chris Haresign no tye inverter is only to change the ebike. The compressor is 12v along with everything els. My charger is 600w so you will always need double that amount in an inverter

Well you need to buy the van and then this one cost about 7k in materials and then your time how ever much that’s worth. Then you gotta insure and tax it
Mate my van is so so similar it's mad.. yours is actually complete but even down to the hex boxing and side cabinet from box section.. even the panels behind the b pillar are exactly the same 😂😂 have you seen the outdoors van site? I didn’t pay retail first off. And Please feel free to give break down Of what you think the cost would be. And then after that lets see your efforts maybe 🤷♂️ Just to buy the 2 sheets of lightweight laminated ply would of been £450. Then the edging, hinges and catches then the tooling such as router cutters and then add my time. Coupled with All of that no trades man ever will cut as nearly as a cnc. Trust me I worked it out. I could of made it no problem as I said but it just wasn’t worth it for what it was. But thanks for your comment. 👍
@@builderonabike The last time I got laminated plywood it had a charcoal effect finish and was no where near £225 a sheet and that was for a 2500x1250mm which is more than enough for a unit of that size. Just thought it was a shame you didn't build it yourself as you have made such a fantastic job on the rest of the van.
There is 2 different finishes one for the unit and one for the worktop. I would of had to buy 2 sheets. Or ye I would of done it no problem like the rest of the boxing in the van.
The toilet only goes in when I stay away for the night. And shower links up to the quick release gas valve and plugs into the wash down warred valve the just hangs on the back door with a curtain across the back doors. They weren’t in the van when I shot the video sorry 👍

Nice vid. I’ve been looking at the SWB sprinter as a camper option but wasn’t sure on bed space. How long/wide did you mange to make the bed?
It’s just slightly smaller than a double bed but bottom of the bed pulls out on runners to make it a full double.

Neil Taylor just mounted them onto a plate with the rail connector fitted. The mount is amazing the best I have seen and the quality is top notch.

It was a 12v one. I believe they are uses for air horns but works perfectly.

Of what you think the cost would be. And then after that lets see your efforts maybe 🤷♂️ Just to buy the 2 sheets of lightweight laminated ply would of been £450. Then the edging, hinges and catches then the tooling such as router cutters and then add my time. Coupled with All of that no trades man ever will cut as nearly as a cnc. Trust me I worked it out. I could of made it no problem as I said but it just wasn’t worth it for what it was. But thanks for your comment. 👍
@@builderonabike The last time I got laminated plywood it had a charcoal effect finish and was no where near £225 a sheet and that was for a 2500x1250mm which is more than enough for a unit of that size.
Just thought it was a shame you didn't build it yourself as you have made such a fantastic job on the rest of the van.
There is 2 different finishes one for the unit and one for the worktop. I would of had to buy 2 sheets. Or ye I would of done it no problem like the rest of the boxing in the van.

The toilet only goes in when I stay away for the night. And shower links up to the quick release gas valve and plugs into the wash down warred valve the just hangs on the back door with a curtain across the back doors. They weren’t in the van when I shot the video sorry 👍
