I have to confess, I had to look up Adam Clayton (Powell). Tip of the hat to Bill Burr for throwing in that reference. (Adam Clayton Powell was the first Black man elected to the House of Representatives from New York. His district included Harlem. There, I saved some of you three minutes. You’re welcome.)
Please do more of Bill Burr. "Some people need lotion", "How do you know the N word is coming", "No reason to hit a woman + how women argue" are all great bits of his.
You're right! They must be great because we've gotten several requests for all of these. With that being said, we'll have them out real soon! Stay tuned and Happy New Year! 😀🎉
I just watched your clothes and Harlem reaction . I'm a 65 year old white man and when I was 16 years old I was working for a auto parts store in downtown Watts in Ca. and never had any problems with anyone. I was raised we are all one race The Human Race. Keep up the good work.
I'm as white as Bill and have traveled a lot for work. One time I ended up in a rough neighborhood that was predominantly black and could not find my destination so I stopped at a gas station/convenience store to ask for help. After helping me out, the attendant straight up told me "You don't belong in this neighborhood and should get out of here as soon as you can.", more as a word of caution than a threat. I appreciate what Bill is doing is comedy with a heavy dose of hyperbole for comedic effect and I've tried not to let that experience affect my perceptions too much but that kind of thing sticks with you.
Oh wow. Well, I'm glad that you were warned, and can definitely understand your feelings. That kind of experience would leave an imprint on my mind as well. Glad you were able to get to where you needed to go safely. All of the unnecessary violence in the world is too much. 🙄
@@katherinejaymes2579 Thanks for your reply. I should have mentioned that I was genuinely grateful for the gentleman's word of caution and that he was looking out for my well being.
I was in the marine corps in Southern California, late 70s. Had a black friend who was from Compton. He was bragging that he was going home on the weekend, his Mom was making bbq, sweet potato pie, greens, etc. I didn't know anybody in SoCal and didn't leave the base very often because civilians despised the military after Viet Nam. I said, dude, take me with you, I gotta get out of here and have some real food. He said he couldn't because, "even black people don't go to Compton unless they're from Compton". And it was 25 years before I got any sweet potato pie.
When you asked if all white people feel that way about going into an all black neighborhood, you've got to understand something. He said it was about 4:30 in the morning. That's probably not safe for a lot of people at that hour. But a white guy all by himself? Absolutely I'd be scared...

Katherine. Great job. Bill likes to push buttons, but he mostly speaks truth. He was a member of Dave Chapelles comedy tour. He can walk into any black comedy club in the country and get a standing ovation. Same with his bits about women. He likes to stir the pot for the laughs. By the way, it's not the girl from Harlem but Bill is married to a black woman and they have 2 kids now. A couple of his most popular bits are "No reason to hit a woman" and "epidemic of gold digging whores". You have to watch Bill Burr with the mindset of looking for the funny. The only people I have seen not enjoy him are people who go into it waiting to be offended. Keep up the good work. Good luck with the channel. Stay safe and well.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. Bill Burr definitely doesn't seem to be the shy type. I love how he's able to turn that into some awesome comedy though. I agree with you on the importance of laughing together about our differences. It's the enjoying of our interesting cultural differences that help us unite in all of the right ways. Great reaction.
Thank you, Chris. That's exactly what I always say. How else are we going to learn from or about one another if we're always criticizing and judging each other?
This reaction cracks me up because both ladies are sooo innocent. You can tell they are from the suburbs or a rural area. Lol i am used to the city life so i know exactly what he means. I live 30 mins from NYC. Born and raised in Newark. It really was that way
LOL, we're definitely not accustomed to NY city life, but we do want to visit sometime in the winter during the holiday festivities. We hear it's exciting. We are from and currently live in a moderately sized city that's growing slowly but surely. It's just nothing compared to life in NYC and other major cities. Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching and happy New Year! 🎉
LOL I thought the same. As a white guy born and raised in Atlanta, you don’t realize how that whole neighborhood awareness has become subconscious for you until you see it through other folks’ eyes. The whole situation he was in was super specific and only applies to a reeeally white man walking through Harlem at 4am to hook up. Any group of dudes hanging out on a corner at 4am anywhere are shady to begin with. Walking your red-headed ass past them in Harlem without getting messed with at all is def a gamble. 😂
Thank you! So glad to hear that you enjoyed it. We have another Bill Burr video if you want to check it out. Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/_RJaziEqymw/видео.html Enjoy! 😀
As a white guy that grew up in rural Wisconsin, I can safely say that this is fairly accurate. The town I grew up in, if we didn't have cable tv, I wouldn't have known black people existed until I was like 9.
I was working in the projects in cincinnati doing electric work for a new job. I meet the guy im suppose to be working with the first evening (a 40 year old black man) and he gets out and looks me over (23 year old white kid.) and kinda shakes his head. "I cant believe they sent you up here." I was confused but I assured him i was in the right place. we go in and proceed to get to work in this building. around break time he asked if i needed anything bc he was going to go to the local store on the corner. I declined and he left for break while i sat and ate mine from my lunchbox. while hes gone a guy comes in with a hard hat on and looks around sees me and then leaves. I just figured it was another worker and didnt think much of it till i heard my coworker yelling at the man as he was coming back into the jobsite. I got up and checked to see what was going on and he shook his head and said. "its good." At some point I needed a tool that I didnt have on me and I had to run back out to the car and before I could get to the door he stopped me. "Not without me, or without this." he pulls a pistol out of his jacket. I was stunned. "They wont like a white boy up here this late at night." it was the most uncomfortable ive ever felt on a job lol...
love your mom!! she's legit just old school just good ppl!! she/ya'll see both sides!!/bigger pic...and are very easy going about it!, which is just refreshing!! your open minded & that's all ppl need to be.
To note, when this was recorded and the story took place in the early 2000's, Harlem was far more majority black than it is these days. And to be fair, going in any part of any big town at 5am is pretty freaky. Besides that, he's now married to a black woman (some say the exact one mentioned in this story, but that's not true) and has two kids with her. She's on his podcast from time to time and has a podcast of her own too. She's as hilarious as he is too. Also, you should react to his "some people need lotion" bit.
Thank you, Todd! Good to see you again. We really appreciate your kind words and support! 😊 Happy New Years to you! We hope 2021 brings you all that your heart desires. 🎉
I just want to say that you girls are so sweet but please don’t respond because that’s not what I’m after I just want love to permeate through everyone and I know that sounds corny it is but I mean it. I’m almost 60 years old and have a grandson and one on the way and I know my grandchildren won’t be racist because I won’t allow it but I know they wouldn’t be anyway because that’s our dna doesn’t allow it and thank God for that.
God bless you dear ladies. Well done and it was good and fascinating to listen to you/observe you watching the vid. One of the things that convinces me that Bill Burr is a national treasure is I've seen how he can use comedy to bridge divides, fear and ignorance.
Lmfao, the bit you put in there after he said, "At first, all black people scared me-," ... "....HUH?" That's a great way to react to what he said. Impeccable! This is a wholesome and critical way to react to his baseless fear. Y'know, some people react well to suddenly audible voices, and I'm sure Bill is one of em.
I use to have an apartment on the edge of the wrong part of town. My car got stolen and someone broke into my apartment while I was at home. One night, I decided to go grocery shopping at 1 a.m. I wanted to avoid the crowds and take my time. 30 minutes in I realized every was staring at me. That's when I also realized, I'm the only white person in the store. It felt strange, not because I was afraid, but because of the stares.
😯 Oh wow! We are so sorry to hear about your bad experiences with your car getting stolen and someone breaking into your apartment while at home. How did you handle the break in? Did you have a weapon to defend yourself? Ya, it does feel strange when people stare at you! It's the U.S. of all places, yet they act like they've never seen nor heard of other races/nationalities! 🙄 Whether it be kids or adults staring, it just irks me! LOL
@@katherinejaymes2579 The apartment complex was doing some upgrades and had an empty hole where a fire extinguisher was suppose to go, leaving just my drywall. They rang my doorbell and knocked on my door. I didn't want to bother with people I didn't know, so I ignored them. Heard them cutting through the drywall. Without thinking, I opened the door and yelled at them. It scared them so bad, they dropped their tools and ran.
Uh. I'd be afraid if I walked into a store and everyone stared at me. I'm pretty sure there was an experiment done doing exactly that, to see how it made people feel. The result was obvious, cause everyone staring at you is not normal human behaviour, so the brain tells you that there's something wrong, which there is.
it just goes to show that not everyone is the same. you and your mom are clearly amazing people. I dont have any number jordans...i have work boots...lol
I love this & no matter how many times I see it I love laughing along with the reactor. Love to you ladies from the UK & you would always be welcome here! Just to add if you ever get the chance can you react to a comedian called frankie Boyle, he's not for the faint hearted.. Michael jacksons children's hospital or audience annihilation is a great place to start.
Thank you! It's good to see you again! Much love from the U.S. and Happy New Year! 🎉 We've added the Frankie Boyle children's hospital request to the list. We'll start with that one first! Sounds interesting. Can't wait to check them out.
As an Australian visiting New York I had to get to JFK from somewhere close to Central Park. I got on the subway and aimed for the quickest route., through Jamaica Bay. I texted a friend and we discussed my route. He told me I must be crazy to go through JB and to find another train. This was weird to me because I’ve never come across a no go area in Australia. Anyway I got off and headed to the train that goes through Brooklyn. This time I realised I was the only white guy in the carriage. Ordinarily it wouldn’t have stirred me but after this recent conversation that JB was the new crime ridden ghetto of NY I started to doubt my safety. However I stated chatting to people on the train and got speaking to this beautiful AM woman. The rest of the journey was bliss. I’d have loved to meet her for a date but I was leaving NYC that evening and haven’t returned since. Unfortunately I was having so much fun I missed my stop and ended up in Broad Channel. I just made it to my plane on time.
Bill Burr is funny as heck, and he is speaking his own truth. The same way we'd feel out of place in an all-white neighborhood or the woods thinking about the movie GET OUT, he feels out of place. He really is hilarious, and his wife is Black. Love him too funny.
Yall need to look for Gabriel Iglesias thr racist gift basket, you'll be rollin! I moved from small town USA to Fort Lauderdale, and very mixed amd culturally diverse area. I'll admit I was nervous at first. But im happy to say that I embraced it and learned a lot. I later moved south to Hollywood Fl and there arenlittle sections, groups of people from different places in the world. All kinds of different languages spoken. It was truly amazing. All the different food was my favorite because I think that's something that can bond people. I miss being able to get that stuff just by driving a mile or two down the road. I moved back home to care for my mom. Im back in a small town, but im rich from the things I brought back with me. I so enjoyed seeing you, see this for the first time. 😁
We love this comment. Thank you so much for sharing. Glad to hear that you went back home to take care of your mom during her time of need. Hopefully she's doing much better now. We would love to react to Gabriel Iglesias. There have been so many requests for him. Unfortunately his work is copyright protected on RUclips, so we will be unable react to his skits. Sorry about that. On a brighter note, I'm thrilled that your travels to Florida brought you some diversity that you enjoyed. Love hearing of stories like that! 😊
I’m married interracially for almost 13 years now. It was a little awkward at first mainly because I didn’t know the language most of them spoke and she needed to interpret. But it’s been great ever since. There are always some things we don’t get because we grew up in different cultures. But now we all just learn from one another and make jokes. It’s great.
Other people have mentioned Dave Chappelle as well. Do you have a specific comedy skit you would like for us to react to? If so, we'd love to react to it once we see that it's not copyright protected. Please send a link! 😀
@@katherinejaymes2579 Bill Burr used to write for Dave Chappelle's show, so people often mention the two together. They're still good friends, and Bill has been out to Ohio to perform at Dave's outdoor comedy venue.
Back in 77 my mother got sick and she was in the Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx. I was staying with an uncle in Irvington and would take the train into the city all the way to grand central and walk around exploring the city. One day I realized I was at 118th st middle of Harlem. People were looking to real funny at me so I found the nearest subway and made it back into Manhattan. In those days it was not safe for a white guy in Harlem. I was from the country upstate and didn't know better. I still remember the looks I was getting, people stopped dead in their tracks watching me definitely felt like I had entered the lions den!!!
You two beautiful ladies have made reactions fun. I'm a 60 year old white man from Tennessee, and all my best friends have basically been black. My only issues with racism are extremists from both races. Both are terrible. Thank goodness the majority of people of our races are good people.
Thank you so much! It always makes our day to hear that wonderful people enjoy our content! True. The extremists always take things entirely too far! It's heartbreaking that some of us are unable to see that we are all people living on the same planet. Why can't we all just get along? Like you said though, most people of our races are good, and we can appreciate that! 😊 It's so good to see you! Thanks for stopping by and hanging out with us!
Great video girls! KJ, do not bother yourself or defend yourself to some of these trolls. It will wear you out and break your spirit! Just be yourself. Love ya!
Thank you! Happy to hear that you enjoyed the video. Thanks so much for the support as well. Sometimes I let these people get under my skin. Much love to you as well! 😊
Bill Burr is the GOAT. Check out Helicopter Story, skip the fan-animated version. Steer clear of the Philly Rant until you're ready to hear eleven minutes of Bill swearing and brutally roasting an entire city.
Helicopter story is on the list! We'll have it out as soon as possible! It sounds like we'd have to brace ourselves for Philly Rant, so it may take a while for us to react to it. LOL
Bill Burr will boost your channel, keep showing bits of him =) "Helicopter Story" "Titanic is a Horrorfilm" "No means no" and many more great ones to chose from =)
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for the suggestions. We are so excited to react to more BB! We've added all of those to the list and will have them uploaded soon! Be on the lookout for them! 😀👀
I'm a white guy from Utah that worked in Detroit MI in 2008 doing security systems and I managed about fifteen guys all from rural Utah. It was a census year and apparently with the 15 of us the white population of Detroit had doubled, and it was interesting watching the racism that blacks had for the "other" blacks.
We understand. In fact, we took no offense to it as openly mentioned in the video. That's why we were as playful about the situation as we were. Thank you for stopping by.
Bill Burr is THEE GOAT of stand up comedy🐐 He can joke about so-called 'sensitive' subjects better than any one on the comedy circuit. His insight is legendary - he takes it right to that fine line....but he never crosses it 😂 that's the key to great comedy😂 More Bill Burr please! PS His wife Nia is black - some of their 'disagreements' are hilarious on his podcast 😂
After reacting to this video, I completely agree! His comedy is awesome! 😂 Stay tuned to the channel because we definitely have plenty more BB coming! Going to have to find their podcast. Another person mentioned it as well.
I grew up playing pool in a predominately Black inner city neighborhood and it took time for me to feel comfortable as a White boy. But it wasn't that hard to do. just be you! No matter the color of people, people are people.
Yessss, so glad to hear that you eventually became comfortable. You're absolutely right. All a person has to do is be themselves, because people are people living together on this planet. Embrace those that enjoy your company and be alright with those who don't. We can't please everybody! Thank you for sharing your story. We appreciate you stopping by and hanging out with us! 😊😊
Random watcher on the channel here and I'm not gonna lie, the wholesomeness of you two is surprising given the nature of society today. The fact you didn't get some of the references, especially the sexual ones, is actually heartening! Momma understood more than she let on though 😂. she clearly did a great job raising a young adult in this era that sounds as wholesome as you. best of luck to you both in whichever way life takes you.
It's not necessarily a threat of violence that makes people uneasy, it's the exposure of being the odd one out. Even in situations where I don't feel the slightest physical threat to myself I feel massively uncomfortable to be the odd one out. I was passing through a majority asian suburb here in my home town and I felt completely safe because it was the middle of the day but I was also exceedingly uncomfortable to be the only white person in sight. I could practically feel eyeballs on me the whole time.
Yeah, he's talking about hoods where strangers generally don't wander around regardless of race, creed, etc. If you don't have business there, you're not generally welcome. I grew up in a dangerous neighborhood but that didn't give me free reign to act a fool in my own, let alone go anywhere I please without reason
Hi! Welcome to The Krew! We enjoy reacting to Bill Burr's comedy, so we're glad you're here. 😀 We have plenty more of his videos coming up soon. Stay tuned! 👀
FYI bc Ive seen a couple of comments saying this black girl is now his wife, that is not true. He is married to a different woman, that happens to be also black.
What makes Bill Burr so funny is he hits on so much that is real and that is where the best comedy comes from. There will always be stereotypes, but they make great comedy when they are used to make things a little light hearted when it comes to racial differences without totally disrespecting the issues associated with those differences. I love your reactions ladies and it is great to see you doing videos with your mom.
This is my 1st time at your channel. Love that it's you and your mom, and love your reactions! Subscribed! Off to see what other reactions you have. Made me smile!!😊😊

If I recall correctly, the girl he is talking about in this story is now his wife, Nia.

We’ll get back there one day. Don’t stop challenging the status quo
love your mom!!
she's legit just old school just good ppl!!
she/ya'll see both sides!!/bigger pic...and are very easy going about it!, which is just refreshing!! your open minded & that's all ppl need to be.
"No Chill Bill". I think you'll enjoy more of his stuff.
The cut scenes were hilarious. Awesome reaction guys.
You two are precious. Your smiles are catchy and your humor is warm. Love it! Momz got a great smile, jes sayin'.
You two are adorable. I can't believe that's your mom! So pretty
Thank you! 😊 Thanks for stopping by and hanging out with us. We're happy to see you!
Glad I discovered yalls channel! You ladies are awesome!
The cut-away edits are on point and hilarious! They add a lot more than people realize to the quality of the video.
So true, whoever is editing has a talent for picking them. Not as easy as it would seem, see it fail in many YT vids.
Thank you! So glad you enjoy the clips. Comments like these help us to want to keep doing things like that. 😀
I watched a couple of your videos, I don’t usually like reaction videos. But you and your mom reacting to Bill burr is amazing. So I subscribed
Really enjoying your reaction videos. PS: your Mom is cute.
You girls are so real I just love you.
You ladies are beautiful ,smart and so cool.🙏💜
God bless you dear ladies. Well done and it was good and fascinating to listen to you/observe you watching the vid. One of the things that convinces me that Bill Burr is a national treasure is I've seen how he can use comedy to bridge divides, fear and ignorance.
Bill Burr Is Just Too Much, He Has No Filter. He's becoming a legend in his own right 😊🖒
Lmfao, the bit you put in there after he said, "At first, all black people scared me-," ... "....HUH?" That's a great way to react to what he said. Impeccable! This is a wholesome and critical way to react to his baseless fear. Y'know, some people react well to suddenly audible voices, and I'm sure Bill is one of em.
Malcolm X and Danny Glover get me every time.
Enjoyed this reaction. You ladies are awesome!
@@TheGorignak 😲 Oh, wow! Glad nothing more serious happened.
Uh. I'd be afraid if I walked into a store and everyone stared at me. I'm pretty sure there was an experiment done doing exactly that, to see how it made people feel. The result was obvious, cause everyone staring at you is not normal human behaviour, so the brain tells you that there's something wrong, which there is.
You both are good people. It looks as if the apple did not fall far from the tree. Your mum looks like she is proud of you. God bless
it just goes to show that not everyone is the same. you and your mom are clearly amazing people. I dont have any number jordans...i have work boots...lol
Accurate, funny as hell...at the end he's Accurate too. All good, great laughs, being human lol
Yeh it’s pretty accurate
LOL, we appreciate the honesty! 😂
@@katherinejaymes2579 I’m a white male. I’m pretty much scared of everything these days lol.
@@jodu626 I definitely see what you're saying! It's rough out here these days! LOL 😂
Yes yes yes,,,,be honest,,.and love each other
He used to hang a lot with Patrice O’Neal and some other young up & coming black comics. He earned his stripes with those guys 😄
I love you ladies! I live by that “Laugh at our differences” because life is just too short. We are all human on the inside!
Thank you! We couldn't agree more! 😀
@@katherinejaymes2579 happy new year, all the best for 2021 man we need it! 😂
@@phillwilkinson8319 LOL, yes we do! Fingers crossed!
I love watching you two, great reaction!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed the video! We have more Bill Burr coming up, so stay tuned. 😊
Both of you seem very cool and I like the commentary. Subscribed
Oh my goodness, thank you! Welcome to The Krew! We love responding to comments, so don't be shy. Also, Happy New Year! 😀🎉
I used to pickup a drummer from 115th and Michigan in Chicago...the wild hundreds. fun times!! Or hung around with other cats on 55th.
Awesome, sounds like fun times back in the day! 😊
It's super accurate in Detroit. Everybody gets nervous
Oh wow! Really? I have an acquaintance who's from Detroit, but I'm sure she'd never admit to what you just said. LOL I believe you tho... 😊😊
Yea, and it doesn't matter your color lol. It's pretty diverse here. They killin everybody.
😐😐 oh my. I hope you're staying safe!
mom gives the best reactions
Yeah, that's a funny bit.
You girls as usual hit the nail on the head.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video! 😀 Hope your New Year is getting off to a great start! 🎉
It’s great.
Man Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle two of the best hands down.. real real stuff flipped into comedy .. love it ... its gold folks
Ladies. You’re welcome anywhere 🤘
Thank you! You are appreciated...🙂
I had to come back and watch this again and love you two pushing the message that it's nice to be nice nice and it costs nothing.
I love the video snips you edit into the video 😂😂
this was filmed at the Apollo theater in Harlem
On 125th Street
I am new to your channel and I love you guys. Awesome reactions!
@@wesfroman4902 Exactly! I wish more people felt like that!
These videos truly educate us. Go girls!
You two are treasures!
@@katherinejaymes2579 sure will, need BB reactions every day =)
I'm a white guy from Utah that worked in Detroit MI in 2008 doing security systems and I managed about fifteen guys all from rural Utah.
It was a census year and apparently with the 15 of us the white population of Detroit had doubled, and it was interesting watching the racism that blacks had for the "other" blacks.
Your mom's facial expressions are AWESOME!!! Great reactions, and she provides such a nice watch partner.
It's comedy. Bill Burr is the best as well. Enjoy it.
Two beautiful women.xx From Scotland
Thank you so much! 😊 Well wishes from the U.S.!
Bill is a gem probably the best comic on the planet
It's not necessarily a threat of violence that makes people uneasy, it's the exposure of being the odd one out. Even in situations where I don't feel the slightest physical threat to myself I feel massively uncomfortable to be the odd one out. I was passing through a majority asian suburb here in my home town and I felt completely safe because it was the middle of the day but I was also exceedingly uncomfortable to be the only white person in sight. I could practically feel eyeballs on me the whole time.
You are awesome ladies. A hug from Italy!
New Subscriber !! Lol !! Love watching people react to Bill Burr's comedy !! He's one of the Greatest EVER !!
Oh, ok! Thanks for letting us know. 😀
No but I'm pretty sure its Nia that got him the dog in that skit isn't it? I mean he still has the dog so I would imagine it was.
As a white dude, imma be straight here. This is probably more accurate than you think.
