  • Received my Seat Concepts seat for the 2021 KTM SMC R. In this video I compare the stock seat on a about an hour ride to the Seat Concepts seat after the same ride.
    I have also included a side-by-side comparison of the two seats.

    300 bucks 2 years ago. Try 430.00 + in 2024 for the same seat. I ordered one but jeeze louize.
    The Sargent seat on my 890R is absolutely the bomb, a 600 mile seat easily, absolutely perfect for me.
    Its even heated but I havent plugged the wires in yet. Sargent doesnt make a seat for the 690 or I would have got one.
    I had a Sargent seat on a DR 650 for 25,000 miles and it was also the bomb.
    Guys would try the bike and marvel at the wonderful couch of a seat. Plush with out being too soft or hard, the foam is somehow kind of springy, lively feeling. Helps suck up bumps.
    Personally I think Seat Concepts charging almost as much as Sargent does, is a bit of a rip off. But once the word "inflation" was introduced in a big way, many have jumped on board and ratcheted prices to the moon.

    The trick with seats, is it takes all kinds. Some butts love certain seats, while others dont.
    One thing is you need seat time, a lot, to condition a body and butt to being on the bike.
    I ride 100 to 200 miles a week on bicycles. And that seems to equal being able to do a 400 mile ride or more on my 890R and the butt is no problem. Now Ive also got a 690R but havent ridden it much yet.
    Just hopping on a bike with no conditioning will probably mean your not comfortable.

    I had an issue with my seat… the middle brackets in the centre of the seat warped… when I tried to get it covered by my warranty the dealership tried to sell a Seat Concepts seat
    He wanted to charge me almost $500 for it
    When I sat on it I couldn’t believe it…
    Felt like I dodged a huge a bullet…
    I almost found it to be worse than the stock seat.
    I don’t have any issues… I can’t ride for hours… I just take breaks, sometimes 8-10 hour days
    Plus I love my Husqvarna logo on my seat

    I tried to stick it out with the stock seat. Didn’t last very long hahaha. I really like the seat concepts. I have done a bunch of 8+ hour rides and it really does keep you comfortable for a loooong time. Not forever but very worth it.

    Small world, your airbox vid just showed up in my recommendations. Fairly certain we chatted at Starbucks in Squamish before you even put your Wings on. I was the guy with a kite board hanging off an SMC-R. Doubt I need to tell you, but do the Oberon slave cylinder ASAP. My stocker went at 3k and 7k. 1st one was covered by warranty. See you on the Sea-to-Sky!

      @CTPSupermoto  2 года назад

      Yup. That was me. I didn’t even notice the kite board until I was pulling away. Was thinking that must have been a great day. Was hoping they updated the slave cylinder on the 2021, but haven’t read anything that says it’s any different. Definitely see you on the sea to sky. Thanks for saying hi on here!!!

    I got used to the stock seat (which works great at the track, btw) in a couple months and I don't even feel discomfort on 2 hour rides.

      I agree with you, I found that I just got used to it. Did the 7,500 Trans America Trail on my 690 ER with it. Got blisters riding 7 hours a day in the first 2 days but after using Sudafed on my arse (baby nappy rash cream) at night for 2 nights then I had no more problems and literally didn't notice the seat again. Plus the OEM seat is tons lighter, important on an adventure bike.

      Agreed - I ordered the seat before I picked up the bike. Should have waited. It’s an improvement but not a huge difference

      @@CTPSupermoto I’m debating super super hard I’m not sure at all. I mean I like how the ktm handles it’s decent quick for sure and easy on gas as well. Trying to decide myself really. Is the ktm 690 your only bike?

    Hi,with the seat concepts it hits the ground worse?

    • @bradsanders6954
      @bradsanders6954 2 месяца назад

      The tires are what touch the ground, the seat should not be dragging on the ground.
