    I also splurged and got the Seat Concepts extra large comfort seat for my 690
    Although extremely pricey, I must say it is quite comfortable😎

      I guess it's worth it in the long run👍

      I just got a 690 is the xl concept worth the money for longer rides without getting sore? Is the seat softer?

    Hi I recommend 15/49 chain combo.
    Its perfect for greenlaning and the bike will cruise all day at 75mph.
    The midrange is also improved. Mine is the 2019 ktm 690r.

      I'll see how it goes if/when Lockdown ends and I can go further. Seems ok for now. I still had another gear to go. Thanks for advice👍

    It is quite easy to modify your seat, these S C seats are way too expensive. You need an electric knife, the glue is cheap and you can get marine grade vinyl. The hardest thing is the stapling, by hand it is quite difficult and hurts your hand. Air stapling is the way to go, the guns are cheap but you do need a compressor. For less than£400 you could buy everything and you are set for life.
    Did you consider the T7 at any stage? I think the 690 is a better choice, 45 kg lighter, better suspension, more power and a million aftermarket parts.

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  3 года назад +1

      It was all about losing weight for me due to various issues. The T7 was heavier than my 790Adv, higher cog, and with no rider aids. This bike has all I need as basis for light weight Adv bike. 👍

    I often do that while sitting in town traffic... Forget that I'm on a bike! Especially if I've been away on a long ride across country and away from built up areas.

    I also went to a 16 tooth front sprocket on the front which could be handy for where you live mate. Feels heaps better at highway speeds. Only drama is you need a new chain because the Stock one is riveted and can’t be added to and is to short. See you next year. 👍

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  3 года назад +1

      Yes I love where you live, so jealous! I basically have to go 200 miles on motorway then offroad. But once Wales re-opens there are some closer places about 50 miles away. I'll bear the sprocket in mind, cheers for info, got a few more things to sort first and no budget just now ha ha! That's how it always is for me 🤣😁👍

    • @Hemlck
      @Hemlck 3 года назад +2

      I went up on the rear sprocket by two teeth with the KTM power part for a similar result. Still good for 90mph plus if you can hang on at that speed, but better pull and easier on slower green lanes to manage any technical bits👍

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  3 года назад +1

      I'll see how I get on when (FINALLY!!!) the Covid thing eases and I can do some much longer journeys. I found it easily goes beyond 90mph already, as you say it's then a case of hanging on - FUN! 👍😁

    sad for you but good for me I can drive to seat concepts to pick up my seats.

    I also got the concept seat comfort seat as my second farkle ordered from the USA website. I just couldn’t take the ordinal seat it was rock hard. - makes all the difference (but it’s v expensive)

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  3 года назад +1

      Yes I factored this into the cost before buying the bike. I got an end of season deal so can't really complain. 👍

  • @Hemlck

    I got standard Seat Concept seat with KTM lowering kit which is fine for me...I use the bike like a lightweight adventure bike also so the cost was worth it imho. Before that I had a Cool Cover on the stock seat which to be honest is almost as comfy as the SC seat (and a real plus in very hot weather).
    Must look into some bar risers for standing and that screen of yours👍
    Have a happy Christmas!

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  3 года назад +1

      Hi Tim. Not too sure about the screen yet. It keeps the Sat-nav dryish I suppose. I don't think it fits correctly on the 2019/20 bike. I do have a Puig one to try, but have to drill the headlight surround so have put that off for now. I'll get a fairing at some point I suspect. On the seat I just wanted to get lower for when I have more weight. It was only option I could find and is about as comfortable as a low seat could be. My dealer could not get the lowering kit, nor anyone else until next month. I think KTM got hit by Covid closure, so I had the Kouba installed. It's fine so far. Easy to put back if I have any issues. Great bike though, really suits me. 👍👍

      Got me the original screen, that is drilled into the light-mask, works for me and looks not too bad. I also bought a new light-mask, doesn‘t cost much , like 35 €, if I want to get rid of, but it works fine and doesn‘t interfere besides the look

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  3 года назад

      Hi Gerd. Yes I already bought a spare mask. Thought I'd give this one a go first. Not sure there's a lot of difference. Of course I keep looking at those expensive fairings... 👍

    I did the exact same thing to mine, kouba link and low comfort seat. I'm 5'8" and it just felt to tall especially when I got into some mountains with it.

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  3 года назад +1

      How did you get on after that? It feels good to me. I’m 5’10” in my boots. Waiting on Lockdowns to end and Spring before I can test it properly 👍

    • @markstill8258

      @@CodgerBiker A lot more confident on it. People say they are worried about bottoming the suspension after lowering but it is not like I am launching this thing like a MX bike. I have done some small 20' jumps on it and it was fine, the suspension is killer on these things!
      I did drop it once but was my own fault for going to slow traversing some rocks on a sidehill.

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  3 года назад +1

      That's my thinking. I'm not heavy and i travel light. I'd have to be jumping at 50mph to bottom it out. Not likely 😁👍

    • @markstill8258
      @markstill8258 3 года назад +1

      @@CodgerBiker Ya I am 150lbs and don't want to hit something hard enough to bottom it. Going to mess with the clickers a bit and try the comfort settings being standard set up is for someone who weighs 180lbs.

      @CodgerBiker  3 года назад +1

      I've gone full comfort, I like it. I'm about the same weight (before Xmas!) 👍😁
