    I think some people in the comments are missing the point of these products. Yes, they're plastic; but they're reusable. Which reduces the need for MORE plastic in the future. We will never eliminate the need for plastic. But we can reduce the need for it.

    • @stripymccatpuss
      @stripymccatpuss 5 лет назад +20

      All these items are at a price point where they will be thrown away, and the dummies that fall for this envirobullshit will just buy more, none of these items are NEEDED ( you like a few capitals) so that makes them superfluous and there for wasteful, the plastic spoon with a case....laughable, if you really gave a shit you could quite easily carve a spoon from renewable wood. As for all the covers.....I have never used cling film in my life to cover something I heat up in a microwave, this is nonsense .
      The sad thing is, the sheep in the comments will rush out and buy this crap adding to the problem.

    • @Shakazuloeman
      @Shakazuloeman 5 лет назад +78

      stripymccatpuss
      That is your opinion, you don't even have to use it for the environment. You could also use it for saving money purposes.
      And your argument that you havent used plastic film is ridiculous, if you haven't used it that doesn't mean that the rest of the world doesn't use it.
      These are exactly the items which can prevent the rest of the world also not to use plastic film anymore.

    • @teacupterrier783
      @teacupterrier783 5 лет назад +11

      TomServoIsMyHero That is such small minded thinking. The same way plastic was invented, we have the technology to invent a replacement for it that isn’t bad for the environment.

    • @TomServoIsMyHero
      @TomServoIsMyHero 5 лет назад +19

      True, you're right. I was thinking more in the short term. In the future it's possible (and likely) that we'll come up with new materials to replace plastic. Just keep in mind that the resources for these new materials won't come from nowhere. Anything we make uses resources. So it's important to find ways to reuse those resources.

      Quite easily carve a spoon from renewable wood? Dude if it's recycled it's been probably treated with chemicals that aren't food safe. And I'd love to see you "easily" carve one out. Without power tools since you want to be environmentally friendly. Just hand tools alone

    Friendly reminder that these are much better alternatives than cling wrap but you can probably just flip a plate and use that as a lid. Of course if that’s not feasible for whatever reasons these are great

    • @ChelseaCamaro
      @ChelseaCamaro 5 лет назад +2

      Who needs lids when you’ve got plates? I do the same thing

    • @Hunlover123601
      @Hunlover123601 5 лет назад +8

      well, plates dont usually cover it completely, and moisture ends up combining and sliding down the edges, making a wet mess... 😟

    • @mimprincesa
      @mimprincesa 5 лет назад +6

      Plates can slide off and drop on the floor when moving the dish, it does not cover properly so the smell emanates in the fridge

    • @lenkaido1357
      @lenkaido1357 3 месяца назад

      I need to be able to see whats inside the bowl when its in the refrigerator, it'd be nice if the covers were transparent n clear instead of translucent, even normal plastic wrap gets foggy inside the fridge

    Hi dears, there are also such 'domes' that have magnetic strips at the top and you can then 'stick' them to the top of your microwave when you don't need it. So no storage problem!!
    Also those silicon lids or fantastic!! You always give us such great ideas!!!!! Lots of love, Pinkie

    I feel that the silicone sheet could also help hold a bowl in place while you're mixing dough or batter.
    I would love to have that spoon. It's cute and portable. At home i always reuse the plastic utensils that come with the food i take out.

      Barbara Jean Smith they rust because of metal type I have a metal allergy a pain when finding jewelry anywho, alot of times items are listed as steel etc when in actuality they are nickel with steel gold silver or chrome plating. The plating wears off and the nickel or iron item rusts. Similar to costume jewelry. Try looking for stainless steel to avoid rusting.

    The biggest advantage that I see with the spoon with a case is not just that it is reusable because I could grab a wood or metal spoon from the kitchen to carry. But, when I carry a spoon in my backpack, it gets dust and dirt and crumbs on it. So I have it but don’t want to use it. But with a cover, I feel much better about eating with it when I know it is clean. It would be great if they made chopsticks that are covered, as well. I have some in a box , but those are decorative and not really meant to carry around. So I would like one of those! I love the lids and covers. This is a great video, thank you!

    For the cooled drink bottle you could also use a regular bottle, fill it up halfway with your desired drink, put it in the freezer on the side, and when it's frozen top it up with the same beverage.

    I live in rural South Carolina, USA. It's going to be a Lo-o-o-o-ng time before we see a Daiso around here! But every now and then I get lucky at the local thrift shops. The spoon cover combo reminded me of a set I got at a thrift shop a while back. A plastic case about the size of a harmonica with 2 handles that snap into either a set of chopsticks, a fork, a spoon, or a knife. I carry it in my bag, and never use disposables anywhere. If I use them, I just toss the whole mess in the dishwasher so the kit will be ready for my next outing.

    Very cool items brothers! I love that Daiso is brother Satoshi’s “theme park.” I’m totally in love with those silicone lids and sheets! I cannot tell you how much plastic wrap I go through on a daily basis. Guess what I finally found, after almost a year? The self measuring lid for instant coffee grounds. I’ll just have to wait another year, before your fun items make their way to the US. ☺️ Especially the silicone onigiri mold and that spoon case tho!! Thanks for sharing boys!! ❤️ Makes me want to go to Daiso TODAY! Just to see what they have!
    You should create a hashtag on IG, for us folks in the US, to share our Daiso finds with you boys. ☺️

    Hiiii! I live in Florida and have been binge watching your videos and started craving Onigiri. So, I went to the asian market here and picked up everything I needed.. I'm a little nervous since I've never made it before but I will be relying on your "how to make onigiri" vids to help me out. I don't have a mold so I will be doing it with my hands. I'm planning on making Satoshis fave, tuna mayo and okaka.

      You'll do fine. It takes a bit of practice, so don't worry if the first few are a bit misshapen, they taste just fine. also, check your local Asian stores for the silicone mold like the one on the video I've seen them various places, but I also live in an area with a large Asian population from many nations, including Japanese, so that increases my chances I don't know if it is similar where you live.

    Just bought some of the "teacup-sized" silicone seal lids at my local (near Philadelphia) Asian grocery. The "plate" lids store nicely (upside down) with the frying pans, and the larger "flat" lids sit neatly on top of anything. I've never seen the triangle shaped containers locally. The fold-up bottles are very cool. Will keep an eye out for them. You guys are adorable! I check you out everyday.

    The flat silicon can be used as a spoon/tong/hashi rest on the top of the stove (if you have room), you can use it as a lid rest when you have to stir or check a pot, you can rest a hot pot on it.

      Do they not have plastic containers for takeout in Japan? I remember seeing them, just reuse a lid.

    I have silicone covers for my bowls as well. They are wonderful and elimated my need for plastic tupperware or cling wrap almost completely. =)

    For the beverage container with the freezing compartment, you can fill the compartment with more of your beverage and then freeze it (instead of water). As it thaws, you can add it back into the main chamber.

    I've never seen these silicone sheets before. Could one use them for making onigirazu? It really bothers me that I have to use plastic wrap every time I make onigirazu...
