Killer....this was Rod in his mid-30's, when his band was a real rock & roll outfit. Raw and chock full o'attitude. Gradually over the years his live show has been tamed and toned down quite a bit and more of a slick production, dare I say even becoming a bit "bloated" with the female backup singers and extra string/horn sections, etc. Still great, but I miss the high energy balls out rock & roller that he was....thankfully we're in an age where the past can be relived at will, thanks to folks like you that took the time to share. Thank you for that!!!
Tienes toda la razón. Que viva el rock
I agree. Thank God we have these old tapes in archives so that we never forget what rock and roll sounded like when we were young, fearless and living life to the fullest. Great memories of great times, 🕊️
You gotta go back a little further. Try early 1970s with the Faces. Now that was a rock and roll band!
“Time is on your side, especially if you’re in the joint. Thank you Sir Rod, for all the good times… and great memories!”
GTA SA??
What a great performance!!!!!!! Thats what I call music. Long live Rod
This could be the only performance in the original key
You mean to tell me everybody else doesn't play in the original keys is that what you're saying
😂
God fearing what
@@bobrose1320think he means this might be the only truly “live” performance of the song by Rod Stewart in the original key. Or captured on film at least.
Generally artists will lower the key of a song so it’s easier sung live, and to maintain their voice throughout an entire concert.
Thanks for telling me that I really didn't know I appreciate it and I'm not being sarcastic
OMG! Thank you so much for posting! I remember seeing this with my parents when it was simulcasted on 'ON' TV. I was 6 years old in '81 and I already loved this song but absolutely fell in love with the synth interlude but could never find a version with it! This was it! I've had it stuck in my head all these years! Thank you!!!! :)
I remember seeing this on TV. It was also being simulcast on radio. But we never had ON TV. I thought it was the local TV station. Unless ON showed it for free that night. Anyway, I recorded the audio and listened to it hundreds of times.
Long live Rod Stewart. One of the biggest living legends in the music industry. :)
What an amazing live version of this song. One of Rids best personnel ensembles.
I hope to stay in this place and enjoy this fantastic music

Only live version that is in the right octave I could find. Damn. He wasn't doing very good here. Sounds like he may have laryngitis (voice going out/strained/breaking). No telling how long he has been singing....it could be his 3rd show for the 3rd day in a row
CokeCane
He had laryngitis or something very similar on that tour. I had tickets for a show in New England and it was rescheduled because he lost his voice.
Is that the guitarist from Loverboy?
He's definitely an Entertainer hell of a frontman
