Legend! My 54 te20 is sat in the corner of my paddock waiting for my to sort the clutch. Watching these vids has given me the confidence to get in the garage and sort it😀
your a good mechanic mate , i brought a 49 tvo 12 years back needs a new seal leaks badly for 12 years i just tip the gearbox oil back in to big job for me to fix the leak no one around here works on them , i have mowed 5 acres 5 times a year last 12 years long grass also post holes for ham radio antennas driveway grading in vic gold fields , brought a zero turn 3 years ago belts wear out this that but no way as much fun as driving the old grey around. .
Thanks for making these videos mate, they've been a real help when working on my ted20. Input shaft seal was todays job, rear crankshaft seal tomorrow. 👍
I love hearing the creaking roof and the critters, makes me feel like I'm there 👍, and the best bit is that I don't have to clean the sh*t off the parts!
Hi Lance when you started reassembling the clutch did you make sure the we drain hole in the shaft casing was on the bottom. Just wondering. its been a well explained video's for the TE20 clutch repairs very interesting as Iv got one to do. Cheers FM
hey lance, it"s me agian was wandering if this is the same as on a massey 65. i have my 65 split in half for a clutch and oil was everywhere in the housing? also what about the seal under the one you did in the video, is there any way to replace that one with out tearing more stuff down? thanks
Good morning mr. Lance! a question: when I fill the gear oil into the tef20, I can never reach the maximum level on the dipstick because the oil drips from the drainage hole under the clutch bell. which gasket should be changed to solve the problem? I hope you can help me! and I sincerely thank you for the very useful videos you make, very very useful for me! (sorry if i wrote something wrong, i'm italian and i'm learning)
You should change crankshaft rear main seal.. I have a video on this issue go through this link and watch video.. For more further information please subscribe my channel.. Thanks ruclips.net/video/vDcqDYHl1p4/видео.html
How do I check if the seal is "home"? I have it protruding just a hair from the surface and I am unable to knock it further down. I don't have a 51 mm iron disc, but turned a walnut one on my wood lathe. However, I am not sure if it is all the way down as the wood does not resonate the same way an iron disc would.
Yes with the seal around the wrong way it wouldnt work correctly. The spring towards the oil is a good rule of thumb but with a new seal the spring tension mat help you out for a while.
Lance love watching your videos first and foremost. I also appreciate that you reply to comments. I think this will be my 4th over the years, Is there a reason you didn't pack the bearing on the shaft with grease? Would that not of helped keep it tighter longer? Plus I can't imagine much oil gets up in there.
When the gearbox is spinning and the bottom shaft is down in the oil there would be a lot of spray around. I think the grease would wash off reasonably quickly.
Hello Lance how are you I drained the oil from the back end of my ferguson tvo and the gearbox would it be possible to wash the gearbox and back end using compresser and paraffin to wash it and drain would this work cheers 🍻
Amazing lance! Two questions; is this the same process for a petrol mf35? And do you have to drain any of the trans/hydrualic oil to prevent any of it coming out when removing the 4 bolts?

Hi Lance I finally bought a nice 1951 ted yesterday went 410 miles for it but was worth it I have been and looked a few that was junk love 🇬🇧
Good to hear, Its always a bit exciting to get a new Fergy.

Im a one man band so I do the lot. No apprentices any more.
Hi Lance, Just wondering if the drain hole in the input shaft housing shouldn't be on the bottom?
It does look like it's on the top, but it was on the top when it came out! Perhaps there's a hole top and bottom.
There is two, one at the top and one at the bottom. i probably should have mentioned that.
Yes, spot on.
Thank you Bundy Bear !!!!
You are welcome.
Hello Lance,
Very well explained... thank you...
Cheers.
Paul,,
Glad you liked it
Hi Lance, is the flange housing for the input shaft the correct part description, i need to get my hands on one cheers
I would call it the front gearbox bearing support.
Thanks for your excellent video.
You are welcome!

Yes I did, Im not sure if I mentioned it now it has been a while.
Lance is that the excact procedure for a massey 35.? Thanks Niall
No the 35 is similar to the box I did in the MF135 6 speed playlist.

Yes you should be able to do the gearbox one
it looked a bit scratchy on the bottom of the bell housing I thought, it probably was just light reflection. thanks for the vid.
No worries glad to help.

@@BundyBearsShed Thank for the answer! i'm going to prepare all it's needed to split my tractor and change that seal. thank you very much

Try and fit something like a feeler gauge behind it
very informative, thanks."John North Wales"
Glad you enjoyed it
Think I have put my input shaft seal in the wrong way round Lance ...bugger ! would explain the small oil leak when its parked after a run
Yes with the seal around the wrong way it wouldnt work correctly. The spring towards the oil is a good rule of thumb but with a new seal the spring tension mat help you out for a while.

Yes you can! but make sure you get it all out. Diesel may be a better option.
Yes Lance is right.. Because after washing some diesel remains in gearbox and make your gear oil thin..

Hi lance love your videos. What was the seal part number was it sparex.
Yes Sparex S.10231 1 3/4 x 2 x 5/16"
Amazing lance!

On a 35 yes drain the oil as you need to remove the two plates.
@@BundyBearsShed Thanks and Bugger!! Just had fresh oil put in.
@@BundyBearsShed I’m about to put in a new seal and thrust bearing on my TEA, would the oil in the gearbox need to be drained in a TEA?
@@LouisMcNabb no you should be good
Great for future reference 🤠
Sure is we live in good times.
Just awesome.
Thanks.
What part number is your seal, I need one of them foe my te20
S.10231
Got a mf 35 struggling with taking input shaft out
Check my 135 6 speed series the 35 is the same as that.
THIS SHAFT IS THE SAME OF FORDSON DEXTA PLS I NEED KNOWS
I dont think so as the Dexta would be more like a Fergy 35 I believe.
Grease worms eat the shaft and hard to turn!!!!!!!!
Grease worms. lol
