I was at the track a few weeks ago, and a little boy told his friend, "the louder they are, the faster they are". If he never hits puberty, that opinion will remain.
I was tank driver in the Army and TRX reminds me of driving the heavy M1A2 tank and Raptor reminds of the Bradley tank for comparison. The supercharger whine in the TRX also sounds the gas turbine engine of the Abram.

Raptor R doesn’t even hit 6k lbs and TRX is well over 6k lbs. Raptor R 0-60 in 3.7 and TRX in 3.9 & Raptor R does the quarter mile in 12.1 sec while TRX does it in 12.5 sec. So again not big differences at all but it’s there. TRX has better braking performance tho lol.
The Raptor R is quicker than the TRX but the regular Raptor isn’t. The reason the Raptor looked faster in this video is because it started 20 mph faster than the TRX.

I'm not buying the truck based only on sound. I'm buying it for the real life performance. The raptor R is a far more capable off-roader. The trx is cool and all. But ya can't jump the truck the way you can with the raptor R. The suspension components break and air bags deploy much easier on the TRX.

For everyone surprised louder doesn’t equate to faster… it’s called twin turbos. They’re not loud by any means, but they’re fast. My f150 also has the v6 twin turbo and I consistently smoke people off the line and they’ll always ask how my truck moves that fast lmaooo

Imo the TRX sounds like it's working harder than the raptor R. So that makes the R either just that bit lighter, more streamlined, designed machine or just that higher mph take off. The TRX looks tougher in design, but also looks more like a wall against the wind. All I know is that I couldn't afford any of them, so no big deal for me.

I feel what also makes a difference is the way the digital speedometers are set up too function the trx ones are really slow and jump from number to number the raptor you see it continuously just rolling through the numbers making it seem more faster in my opinion
I wonder if you came out of the turn in the Raptor 18mph faster than the TRX because it's more nimble/confidence-inspiring in the corner.... Or maybe it just happened like that and has nothing to do with the Raptor's lower weight, better shocks, better front/rear weight distributions, and larger contact patch due to larger tires which improves the traction....
You have more of a satisfaction in a raptor r because of the speedometer. Seeing your mpg increase by single digits instead of gaps really feels amazing
I am, and will always be a Mopar enthusiast, I currently am restoring a lifted 1969 Dodge D200 Sweptline . Man but those Raptors are the kings of the off road truck world. If Dodge was really thinking they’d offer the Demon Engine setup in a TRX , and call it the TRX Warlock srt or something, I mean really go big 800-900hp with 15-20 inches of suspension travel , and really fuck the competition up but they won’t because they have to keep things balanced fur the average consumer market 👀
I've got a regular Raptor and the thing already rips. I drove in a buddy's TRX and it just didn't feel 'done'. Just typical Chrysler quality. The Raptor feels like one solid chunk of billet steel. I can only imagine how crazy the R is!

The difference is cabin insulation. It is remarkably quiet in the F150 cabin. On the outside, Baja mode in the R is pretty damn loud.
I’ve heard all the different exhaust modes on a raptor r in person and I can just barely tell the difference between quiet and baja

34-51 in the TRX took about 1 second, and the overall pull felt way more than 1 second faster in the raptor
