Dude, Camera is cool, but it's really sweet to learn more about you as a person and photographer. Loved the images here. You can really feel your passion for capturing images when you're talking here. Can't wait for more!
Thanks so much team, I appreciate that a lot! It’s hard trying to decide what people want to watch and what value I’m able to provide to other people…!
I pre-ordered my X100VI on 28th February 2024 and after quite a wait, I collected it on 31st August. Well worth the wait. I have been out and about all over my home city of London getting used to using it. So far I love it. I agree that it fits into a very special niche, and is not for everyone, but it would never do if we all liked the same things, would it. And think of the even longer waiting times! But, I don't know what one of your viewers would think of me, although I think I can guess, as they feel the camera is a waste of money but I have added it to my kit and now own the following: a pre-ordered X-Pro2, X-T2, X-T3, X-T4, X-T5, X-H2 and two Nikon Zfs. I think I have a slight case of GAS. Nice video by the way.
I know you said GxAce said it best but frankly you said it better. Take away the flashy editing, his videos aren’t as substantive as yours. Sorry for bringing hate for someone else on your video but I just wanted to say all that because you’re bringing value to gear discussion that’s not commonly seen today so just want to say I appreciate that and you now have a regular viewer in me. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the VI!
Aw thanks a lot! I really appreciate that man. All good I don't see that as hate, everyone is allowed an opinion :) Thanks again for the super kind words, these comments keep me going!

Great video. Been walking around with x100vi for a few days and it's amazing. No regrets. Oh, and, am selling some old gear, so it's already taking great product pics. Ability to reach super long shutter speeds hand held is such a bonus. Oh, yes, IBIS at last!
Ngl I can’t wait to see you post more though I do wish we could see you take it out for some pictures and give us a more personal experience with your shooting practices and style
Thanks for the feedback! Truth be told I had always planned on a x100v video but never got around to it. So once I feel like I’ve got a proper grasp on the vi I’ll do a proper talk about it! Thanks for keeping me excited 🙏
Btw, I cannot recommend the NISI filters (specifically for X100 series) enough. They are super compact and allow for use with the original Fujifilm Leather Case for the X100V/X100VI. Provides protection (WR I think) and keeps it as compact as possible :-) They may not look as cool as the "squarehood" options, but they just keep the small form factor, which for me is super important.
Awesome that’s great to know, thanks for the heads up! Yeah flo @oftwolands swears by nisi too but I haven’t used them for the x100 series. I’ll give them a try!
Agreed! They don't ruin the small size the way that the separate adapter and filter, and the lens hoods, do. And you can still put the original lens cap on, if you feel the need to.
Great video. I received my VI a couple of days ago but haven't yet had a chance to go out with it, but I love it so far and it's a nice upgrade from the F I sold a few years ago. Also, you ARE a photographer IMO. Some great photos you showed.
Yeah wow - all the more reason for an update, but hey fuji are doing something right if you’re keeping your now 4 year old camera. I remember first ever shooting Fuji at fairgrounds in your XE2 or whatever it was!
Your black and white images look stunning. I never see the world in b&w, nor do I shoot a lot in it. I think it's time to practice :D Have been a fan of delta 3200.
Oh wow thank you so much! The Kodak TRI-X recipe in this video feels almost like a cheat code to me. I question my own photography skills versus the camera's abilities...! haha
Really really beautiful stills Al! I love my V and probably wouldn’t bother upgrading personally (maybe if I shot video it might be different!) But loved hearing your reasoning and perspective! Great vid 👏🏻👏🏻
Yeah I feel the same way, if I wasn’t actively shooting video maybe it would be different but I love the x100v so much, if they made it better i was always going to be stoked! The first photo I ever took on it was you and lil man! Haha
@@stevenlim4974 thanks very much! I mainly use the portra 400 recipe, and the warm summer recipe on fuji x weekly with a little of the ‘warm’ taken out, I can provide screenshots if you like! Send me ur email
I love the camera but something bothers me to no end. The viewfinder switch and the button feel very cheap. I use them often and I can't stand how after turning it left the switch becomes slightly stuck, so as soon you move it right you might get a plasticky click. At least a handful of people I know noticed it from at least one sample. Even the one the store owner I bought it from tried in Japan had the same issue.
Ah that’s a bummer, I haven’t experienced that just yet but it’s probably the case! I have to say I personally haven’t seen the difference between made in china v Japan but time will tell I guess!
Had that on mine right from the start. However, after a bit of back and forth with the switch, the click and uneven motion disappeared. All smooth now, must have been the spring that wasn´t properly seated.
Amen, me too! I definitely need to figure out the ND for video, it wasn’t working for me at the farm but I’m sure I missed something! Can’t wait to get shooting.
@@alex-botton I personally won't use the ND for video, but I'll use it in daytime for long exposure photography. Which is where the IBIS will really help :-)
Current 5 owner here. The introduction of IBIS definitely has me thinking about the upgrading... I want to be able to take long exposure shots with relative ease, I don't care about video or the 40+ megapixels. Hmmmm, decisions decisions 🤔
I think the IBIS is worth it only if you want to do long exposure, I sold my V because I wanted a camera with stabilization. I tried a couple of handheld shots at 1/2 and 1/4 - very good results so far.
construction quality seems more solid on my V compared to my VI. Especially as far as the viewfinder switch and the button are concerned, I get plasticky clicks after turning it left, and the button feels loose. I use the button to focus (instead of the release half press) and the difference in build quality is very noticeable. On top of that the switch itself is smaller and less easy to use, while the V one is much more pronounced and usable. I also bought it because of the IBIS but man, does it feel bad to handle something that feels cheaper...
That's a shame, i haven't been using the back button focus on the V yet but ill switch to it on the VI. There definitely are a couple of things that feel a little more finicky on the VI but the main thing i notice is the IS wobble internally.
