Couple quick tips to help with the karting,
1. New slicks, they’ll last a while but you’ll be very surprised at the difference
2. Look at your camber and caster, you can change the handling to be more/less twitchy and you can adjust the torsion bars located just in front of the fuel tank for chassis flexibility IE front end grip.
3. Look at your seating position, you want to be comfortable but at the same time distribute your weight evenly and make sure you aren’t flopping around in the seat.
4. Change your sprocket for more speed out of the corners or along the straights
"I love this truck. Can't wait to turbo it." The Garage Built ethos right there folks.
Look at it now
22:04 "Remember me" best part!
Duuude its not faaster than it looks. I thought the first clip of you on track was sped up. The kart looks insane!!!
Duuude
@@DinoG100 dude
The crazy part is it almost always looks slower on video
And that's a briggs 206 4 stroke look at a shifter lol
As a driver of everything from LO206 to Rok shifter, it's very obviously sped up. Find another video of a 206 race and you'll see. With that being said, a Briggs kart will definitely still scare almost anyone who isn't familiar with karting.
he said "DO YOU REMEMBER ME!"
heheheh taylor just pulled a days of thunder quote XD
You should definitely get some exhaust heat protect wrap for your exhaust so u dont burn ur arm and definitely build or get a kart stand ! 👌
I vote build just for the content
it already has heat wrap tho??? you can clearly see it when he's talking about the carb.
He has exhaust wrap on there. It's required in the 206 class.
It's already on the exhaust..
if you have a set of saw horses laying around, it makes a great kart stand so you can move all around and under it
#17 is a terrible driver. That was clear from the get go even before he took you out.
More where that come from lmao
Well he isn’t very good either
I mean neither of them are very good, but when he made the overpass on 17 a corner of 2 before he should have let back as he was not up beside but instead forced 17 to give him the the inside and 17 returned the favor but 17's should be a 2p penalty and his should be a 1p
should of overtook him then
Why would someone do that? I get that rubbing is racing, but that looks more like a bump.
Perhaps maybe I'm being a bit hypocritical, I destroyed one of my RC cars from always hitting the apex of every corner by accident (this was a long time ago).
I can't wait till I can try kart racing. I'm saving the money up for trying a rental kart race. I want to be able to speak from experience about kart racing.
You need to scale all 4 corners of your Kart with you sitting in the seat. The chassis builder will have setup sheets for you to get your chassis close.

Biiiig hype for this vid. I’ve been waiting for you to send that thing around the track!
@TaylorRay
That start up stance 😂
One of my favorite YT Channel hands down.
19:54 sick boardslide bro 😂
What I cannot deal with when I had my cart is people not caring about you or your cart. They go around acting like the carts are rentals and I got tired of being smashed into people that don't know how to drive. This is a race where my money and yours is put out there as a hobby, not bumper cars. I will say that when everyone actually knows what they are doing, it is really fun. But that was maybe like 1 in 10 races were actually where I went home smiling and not fuming because I am braking for a turn and get side swiped by some kid that played too much nfs and thinks braking is done by using your opponents. And before people comment, I know there is rubbin in racin, but I am talking about the next level of idiot here.
That is the same reason I stopped racing mini stocks at my local race track. The track wasn't harsh enough on black flags so you could get punted into the corner 25mph faster then you should because someone decided to use you as a brake destroy your car, but be out their the next week because of sponsors/daddys money destroying someone elses car.
That happens.
@Matthew Schulz Its racing so it happens, its even acceptable up to a certain point, but then it becomes bullshit. Mini stocks have to maintain a stock appearance or they won't let you race.
Did you ever think maybe it’s your fault?
@@geddstock yeah my cart that I'm on the racing line properly racing and someone rams me using me as their brake is my fault? Get the hell out of here dude.
Watching beginner carting is so fun for some reason xD
OfficialEzzy when he said the tires last a whole season I cried
JD FILMS i cryed the all session 😂.
I didn't even realize how much I missed the carting vidoes!!
Taylor is the type of person to put a hydro break on his go kart...
drift kart coming soon
Mr. Douglas what
Glenn Douglas no that's Adam lz
@@Edoghaber I don’t know who that is.
No need, they are rear brake only standard, and the way you mod the brakes is to add front brakes either as an extra hand brake behind the steering or to the rear brake set so the act like a car. (You can even replace the foot brake altogether with a handbrake for disabled drivers btw).
@@christianbuczko1481 it was a drifting joke.
Hey Taylor, I love your channel and your videos. I race a 206 kart nationally at a series called Cup Karts North America. A quick tip on gearing, They make max torque at 3700rpm. You should gear based on low side RPM, shoot for 3500RPM.
he needs to be a more constant driver before going to a small gear
Haha you sound exactly like me after something happens like that. "REMEMBER ME?!" You've improved a ton since your first season in the rentals. Everyone who goes up to 206's always ends up being even faster than before. Like Josh is one who has gotten really good over the past year or so especially since making the jump to the 206's.
Went from A+D to Club with track marshall time in between! Rarely missed podium for A+D races and a top 10 was like a win for club race! I was also the lightest driver in the heaviest class. Had over 50 pounds of lead bolted to my kart. Plus as being my own mechanic I really sucked! I got my seat time and spend the weekends with a bunch of great people! My 1st season as a owner I ended up with a season ending oil leak with 2 races to go. One of the race families lent me a spare kart to finish off the year! The very last race I did at end of 2018 I pulled all the weight off my kart and it was so much fun to run light!
Hi Taylor, great job man! You definitely looked more and more confident and at home in the kart. Looking good! As far as the neck goes wrestlers bridges are what I usually do. I’d try to brake later and harder though, at the track by me just by braking later and being right on the limit I picked up 4 tenths. Great job man, I absolutely loved the video.
Getting good times and getting good times with others on track is always fun and different.
LOVE the Karting content!! It really looks faster than the rental karts, I can only imagine how fast the Rotax would be!
Have used one and it's stupid fast! Did 10 seasons of Arrive and Drive in 7 years and 3 years running Briggs Masters. For A+D I rarely missed the podium. With my own kart a top 10 was like a win! Also had a severe weight penalty. Needed 50 pounds of lead and full fuel to make minimum weight! Plus I really sucked as my own mechanic! The last race of 2018 pulled all the weight off and was much more of a fun ride! Also made sure I had bad finish to avoid tech after!! I really backed off at the start to let everyone fighting for points to get away and sort things out! Was 2nd last and was happy !!
Awesome seeing track footage after while. Keep it rolling Taylor
your so blessed to have a toy like that tucked away!
that looks like so much fun man. Thanks for taking us along for the ride
Great job! Loved this video! Hoping you would get to race it! Great job of being you! Only good things to come from that!
watching this 4 years after you posted it.. buying my first cart tomorrow cant wait
Finally only waited months to see the margay
Seeing Miss Betty on the grid (grid master, bright pink shirt) put me in the feels real quick.. RIP Miss Betty, we send it for you!
finally some karting content, been waiting for this! Work at a track in the UK and love it
One technique I learned in racing karts was to drag the brake more to make up for letting off the gas, that way the clutch stays engaged & keeps the engine in the torque range coming out of the corners.
Awesome Taylor, it makes me miss karting watching you drive, you are smooth, you have a lot of potential, not everyone can drive a kart like it should be, props, keep it up!
Has Taylor ever said what the deal is with that green street bike that's always in the background? Lol
I'm 99% sure it's Bens Hiabusa! :D
Hell yeahh ! Was waiting for that one ! Love it , and god damn you're patient , sometime I feel like people are holding you back in the race's and its pisses me off for you ahahah.. But I think its part of the game ! Still awesome video can't wait for the next one .
Remove the front chrome torsion bar you will gain more chassis flex which will give you more grip. Run your rear axle spacing at 1/2 from the hub surface to the end of axle. Use a large and medium spaced on the front wheels! It will help you around track! My kart is setup like that I think you’ll like it.
It’s disconnected already just left the brackets there.
That girl you bumped in 346 shaking her head at you like. "DAMN ROOKIE!". :D
She needed to learn to let people by during qualifying if they’re faster.
Cart looks and sounds like you had fun driving it 🤘
Been waiting for more karting videos👍
There is a lot to learn about setup
Came for the TAY-TAY, stayed for the RAY-RAY
Keep the kart vids up, looks good so far!
Bang up video
Ive never seen any of your vids and it recommended this
I also am a karter
Love these videos!! Keep it up!
Love these types of videos dude!
Not sure if you didn’t record it or didn’t install it, but the yellow lead is a cylinder head temp gauge! Very good for keeping the engine safe in longer races and making sure you have a proper air fuel ratio. You’ll need to snip the ring off your plug in order to use it, the temp sensor takes its place. There’s also warnings built into your mychron for over temp and over rev. Also stay on top of the clutch and all the bearings, it makes a huge difference. I used to clean and lube my chain after ever race. Most importantly have fun! Karts are awesome.
I have missed some karting content man! I love the Miata and all the cars but you got me interested into the karts and I have been thinking about getting one
Michael Ordonez check out some of my videos, 110 mph + in karts. They’re pretty insane
Do it! I raced from 05 to 18. Missed last year due to a car accident. Managed 1 day of seat time on the very last race day of 2019. It was cold miserable and did not do great. .Made a few passes so the day was a good one! The people is what makes it such a great sport! Also had added bonus of racing and working at the track. Work Sunday morning then race in the afternoon. Then go back the next week and a track marshall for club races! Lap1 at turn 1 was never boring!
@@coltincraigo5007 where can you buy them?
Joe Blow Depends on where you’re from and what you’re looking for. If you just want something to go out and mess around in you could look on Craigslist. If you want to be a little more serious and looking to race go to your local kart track and talk to them. We order all our engines online from Italy, get our chassis from a friend we met that owns a kart shop.
@@coltincraigo5007 Thanks! I won't be running at a track so just looking for a chassis kit to assemble and run on the roads
That was a lot of fun to watch brother, thanks, picked up a subscription.
I would suggest putting an ankle on the steering wheel column so the steering wheel is more vertical. Makes for a better over all experience and wont hurt your wrist on the long run!
I could hear the actual fear in taylor’s voice when he went into the wall and it made me feel so bad
I race E-Carts in my spare time and I'm one of the fastest people at my local track. This video made me wanna race so bad lol, havent been able to due to covid.
First time seeing kart action .You definitely have alot of great content.
Love bugs, acid will remove paint overtime!! Taste crappy too
Remember me lmao love the vids
Love the vids Taylor's always great content and attitude!
Hey taylor! The lovebug story is cool and all and i remember telling people that story, people would always say The University of Florida made them but its actually not true. The lovebugs migrated to the US from Central America.
Loved this vid man
Taylor keep it up brotha! Hope to see you out @ Bushnell sooner than later. Looks like a ton of fun!
Sweet rid, must be a blast to ride!!
"Remember Me"!!!!!! lulw
More kart videos please! Very cool stuff.
I love these vidssss
I'm looking forward to seeing you at O.G.P. for some races in the future were not much further than Bushnell
that was sick tylor
Great video and fun to watch! It was funny when you got mad but I totally get and I'd have been mad too! Get some chassis protectors if you haven't already so your chassis won't get chewed up when you go over curbs or off track.
Love the cart videos Taylor 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
That looks like so much fun :D
Thanks for the info on your kart class. I'm looking to get into something affordable. It seems we live in the same area. I'm in Ocala and we have a great track here. L206 sounds like it will fit in my very limited budget. Thanks Taylor!
that was awesome~
Didn't realize this was Taylor ray! Love your vids keep them up !!!!!
Find me a "high strung " two stroke kart that you need to rebuild every weekend. I have run everything from the Yamaha KT100, KA100, TAG, 125 Pavasi ICC, and stock Honda CR125. They are all pretty robust and you get out of it what you put in. So generally if a two stroke locks up or blows up 75% of the time its driver/mechanic error. Bad information wrecks the sport.
Awesome video! I know I'm 3 years late, but this is amazing!
turbo the kart!
You should build like a yz85 shifter cart
Dude you're a pro. You drift the cornors and you're still faster than the others. Awesome video.
USUALLY CAN SLIDE FASTER THAN BRAKE...... ITS A NORMAL TECHNIQUE USED IN RACING... MORE OF A POWERSLIDE TOO BTW
great video, subbed!
Would love to see a vid of you fabing a stand for the kart or more fabrication on the kart
Hell yeah slide them little karts!
I have been waiting for the video.
I had a mychrone 4 I ran dirt and my dad programmed the light one tells me if I’m running too much rpms and one is a overheating warning light
FINALLY!!! 206 karts are a lot of fun
New lighting is lit
SO glad I'm not the only one with a brand new Kart setting in the garage.
That was a good a Watch ! U made so many good points. Yes that kart had more than you on Makin it go fast thru the turns. But practice makes perfect..An as for u getting taken out. It is so damn easy for someone to push U out of the way.Even if they didn't really mean to..Good Class to start in...Have Fun .Keep Racin
Been waiting to see this video for months.
You have the exact same go-kart I have
Let us see some more of this man!
More to come bud! It’ll only get better!
Finally got the cart vid 😎
I used to go to tire shops and get there old wheel weights and melt them down into bigger weights in whatever shape or size people wanted them in and sell them mostly to go-cart racers but I've sold them to all kinds of racers but anyone can do it it's so easy
Hey Taylor can you bring the rear track out a couple of mm a side will help a lot 🤙🏼
your reaction was hilarious!! I would have reacted the same! hahha.
I had a $500 kt100 kart that was fun though non competitive. Running off-track over a burm meant replacing chain and rear sprocket. How much do these karts cost to buy and to run for a season? Thanks for the great videos!
love the green truck
Mychron 5’s are sweet, I have one on my quarter midget race car. It has gps to find the tracks, and even mph. They are some cool technology.
Go cart looks fun ...you Need a hydraulic table from harbor freight to pu the cart on the bench or just work on it ... surprised you didn’t tig up a aluminum rack to slide the weights in
a little late to the video but I used to race karts for ts racing (the ones who run Bushnell) but I did 2 strokes. couple tips though run the bolts in the side panel and rear bumper loose. karts are the opposite of cars and you don't want them stiff they need to flex in order to turn. secondly, tire pressure is just about the best adjustment you can make and you need to adjust it for nearly every session especially races that go till after dark the track cools and this will make an unbelievable difference. third, you can adjust the alignment in the front they make lasers that you put on the front spindles to dial it in but that will come with time. And lastly, have a couple front spindles, tie rods, and kingpins on hand because as someone who has written off a couple chassis that will be far from the last time you wreck and it will almost never be your fault. goodluck and have fun! when I did it I couldn't wait to the day I could move to racing cars and yet now I look back and wish i still had a kart!
You need to try a rotax or come to Europe/UK. Main classes over here are Rotax, Iame X30 and ROK. Minimax karts (the second slowest rotax kart class and second lowest weight/age range) will usually be 10 seconds a lap quicker than a 206 series (on a 45-60 second lap). Iame X30 is roughly the same and ROK is even quicker. There are quicker classes but these are the classes that are mainly raced in Europe/UK, by racers aged from 9+. The driving standards are also much higher, with drivers always pushing the limits whilst maintaining fair racing. However, when things go wrong, they can go very wrong and crashes are often very big and very serious.
Tire pressure is your best friend, don’t be afraid to try different pressures!
All the kart racin'!
That was a great race . As cart racing goes a bump here and now your down a position . But what a way to get back into the race . Love to try this . Any pointers ?
Damn cool. I need one of those.👍👍💪
Have to work alittle more on using brake while staying in the gas. 206s are just like clones, when you let out of the gas you absolutely kill the momentum. Get into 2strokes or flatheads if you really want some fast fun!
Dusty Cobb Webb covered kart. Hyabusa in the back covered in black mold. 🤷♀️
Who's motorcycle is that in the shop? Always wondered.
OOF
@@stashtrey1 it's bens
would love to see more karting with the boys
Get a neck collar. It protects your collarbone in a flip and supports the helmet which really helps your neck muscles.
