      Bruh, there was MK music if you paid attention. It just slowed down with a little bit of ancient-like vibes. Also, at least there were blood and violence scene unlike in the original which was PG. MK games are all about brutal, blood, and swearing but the original movie didn’t had those. Don’t get me wrong, I also love the original and its plot, but it was mainly bland when they weren’t any blood. I can also recognizes that every punch they land was fake. It didn’t feel like they were punching each other.

    • @Nazareeni
      @Nazareeni 3 года назад

      @@RS--ep3wt Well not necessarily. The problem with the Silent Hill movie is that they tried to meld aspects of the first 2 Silent Hill games. They used the storyline of the 1st and tweaked it but then decided for some reason to incorporate many Silent Hill 2 monsters alot of its music. I have an issue with this because Silent Hill 1 & 2 cannot blend together by principal. Both games, despite being based in the same town, are actually set in completely different lores (the reason being was that both lores were conjured up around the same time, so they saved the alternative one for the 2nd installment).
      SH1 has a big overarching plot involving factions, rituals and witchery that provides a direct explanation for the events occurring, whilst SH2 barely explains anything through words at all, and instead relies heavily on symbolism to tell the story. And that includes the monsters. And so the monsters stolen from SH2 for that film now have no context at all. I'm talking about the slutty nurses, Pyramid Head, even Alessa when she floats in a barbed tentacle bed. And because the film made Pyramid Head popular, some clueless developers later decided to incorporate the movie Pyramid Head into their shambolic Silent Hill: Homecoming game. Yes, the film actually helped ruin the videogame lore.
      This is the opposite for the Mortal Kombat film, which despite making massive liberties with the storyline, actually helped the Mortal Kombat universe expand as a whole. It actually introduded new aura to Mortal Kombat, which enhanced and stayed with the videogame franchise to this day. They're even using the film skins now for Mortal Kombat 11! And they managed to do it without it being an 18 rated film. It's a serious accomplishment for the budget and limitations they had, though in all fairness, the accomplishment was because unlike Silent Hill, Mortal Kombat never took itself too seriously in the first place.
      The two films do have 1 thing in common though. Their sequels are utter crap.

    I still think this is a very fun video game movie. Most of it stays true to the source material.
    It was actually Paul W.S. Anderson's first film pre-Resident Evil. A popping electronic soundtrack, fun fight scenes, a well-diverse cast and it made $122 million worldwide staying #1 for 3 weeks. Anderson's films for the most part are critic-proof and international audiences enjoy them. He knows how to stage practical sets too. I only played the arcade game a few times at price chopper. The games violence actually gave birth to the rating system for others. The movie itself actually lead to new storylines for future titles. The reboot is set for next year and thankfully will be rated R to match the over the top bloody violence the series was known for.
