    • @PillowEgg
      @PillowEgg 3 года назад +20

      Well Luke appears as a force ghost with his robes and clothes on his back, so him with his robot hand isn’t far fetched. I think if he used his robot hand it would by symbolic in a different way and not communicate the correct message. Luke in his force ghost presence is his astral projection of himself. The way he projected himself all cleaned up towards Kylo Ren is of a different appearance, more put together than what he is on the island. The force works in mysterious ways.

His saber toss at the start of TLJ represents his weary and disillusioned self following his failure to train Ben and restore the Jedi order. He was down in the dumps for the first two-thirds of the movie. He came around and reembraced his Jedi ways following a visit from Yoda who knocked sense into him. At the end of the movie when he faced off against Kylo and the First Order, he openly declared "I will NOT be the last Jedi", cementing his reembrace of the Jedi ways once again. Hence why he could come back as a Force ghost and lecture Rey about respecting a Jedi's weapon.

      @@blackorder9565 Like Nocto Ki said, it's called a character arc. Character arcs involve a character change. Every character changes in all stories. And life is all about change. But you and the rest of the toxic fandom just seem to just want to stay the same.

    • @blackorder9565
      @blackorder9565 4 года назад +5

      Ed Davies Lol, calling people toxic because they have different opinions is a shitty thing to do and proves that you're also a toxic fan, I never said i want Luke
      to stay the same but you said so. Also, there must be certain events that happen in order for a character to change his/her point of view.Tell me which event happened that lead to Luke believing killing Kylo was the last resort, we never saw it did we, that's why people are complaining about the Jake's arc in TLJ because it was executed horribly and contradictory in its nature when you compare it to Luke's arc in the OT. Jake Skywalker in the Last Jedi abandoned his family and ran away from the war despise the fact that the first order wasn't even a thing at that time( acording to The Force Awakens, FO rose to power when Luke was absent), At the end of the last jedi, Jake force-projected himself to Crait just to Troll his nephew and didn't try to redeem Kylo (Ren straight up asked Jake whether he was there to save his soul and Jake said NO). If he was Luke Skywalker, he would never ran away from the war or abandon his family and would try to reason with Kylo to redeem him just like he did with Vader. He made the exact mistake which he has learned in the OT.

    • @Binfield1994
      @Binfield1994 4 года назад +8

      @@blackorder9565 It was briefest moment of pure instinct that made Luke believe that killing Ben was the last resort! And even that brief moment of pure instinct soon passed like a fleeting shadow as soon as he turned on his lightsaber! And the dark voices inside Ben's head was what caused him to briefly fall into that small moment of pure instinct! And the dark voices were created by Palpatine through Snoke, to manipulate Luke into thinking that his nephew has made his choice to turn to the dark-side! Finally Luke Skywalker exiled himself to Ach-To because he was so guilt ridden for having succumbed to that brief moment of instinct that caused Ben to turn to the dark-side, that he's not going to let it happen again! He even said it himself in that very clip, that he was wrong to exile himself and that it was fear that kept him in Ach-To!
      Also while he did trick Kylo by force-projecting onto Crait, he did it so that the last of the Resistance and his sister can escape and regain their strength so that they can fight the First Order again, so that he can apologise for what happened the night Ben turned to the dark-side, and so that he can pass the torch to Rey!

    Something that's bothered me, and I've never seen anyone else have this issue, is when Luke said "you have everything you need" I thought Rey was going to use the Force to guide herself instead of needing the map. It would have been an accomplishing moment for Rey's training and also she takes Luke's X-Wing where he iconically relied on only the Force to destroy the Death Star.

But I love how they honor Yoda's lessons to young Luke, and how even Luke now get's exhausted in the same way as Yoda when raising the ship. His journey ended where it began in some ways.

    You may not thing about it but "some things are stronger than blood" is a great theme and a part of reality because not all people find love from people of their bloodlines. That could be either because they didnt meet them either because those were just assholes. So this scene gets a 👏👏from me.

    • @gatorarman12
      @gatorarman12 3 года назад

      I like that theme, but I really wish they had stuck with Rian's Rey is "no one" idea. The idea that anyone in the universe can make a difference and that you don't have to be part of some bloodline is a powerful message for kids. Heck it's the entire premise of LoTR and a large part of the reason LoTR is so timeless. I also don't think Palpatine needed to come back for this movie. Ben killed Snoke and had ascended to big baddie status. The whole movie could've been Ben's redemption arc without Palpatine as a bad guy. Not resurrecting him would've also kept Vader's sacrifice in RotJ meaningful. I don't hate this movie, but some of the choices were just stupid.
