This might sound silly, but I thought it was so sweet how when she got back into her call room, totally exhausted, she showed us what is in her bag. She could have done it when she was off, but she did that before sleeping, even though she was so tired. She is precious!
Hi Brianna! Aww thanks! Haha yeah I thought about that but I was excited to share with you guys while I was actually on call :)
I agree! I love her determination!! She's inspiring

Hey lady
Hi Siobhan. In a future video could you talk about how you handle rude people (employees and patients) in the hospital and manage to stay so positive? Thanks! (:
Definitely agree
Just IGNORE those people & assume they don't even exist 😁
@@jannatjharna3269 Its easier said than done. 😅
@@jannatjharna3269 It's easier said than done especially when it's a customer service type of role
@@jannatjharna3269 Unfortunately, you just have to deal with them. You can always ask for help if you don't feel comfortable in a certain situation if that makes sense.
You're a freaking saint! Im over here like, do i have the energy to do the dishes? And youre over there 197 hours into a work day. Haha
Its not hard when you make as much as they make
Residents don't make that much
She's only making about 60-70k a year, Canadian. That's less than what my son made at his first job after leaving a four year college program, and he only had overnights once a week. The other four days were 9-5.
Marianne Black I swear I see you on every video on this channel 😂😂
Not trying to be rude but that's impossible because in a week there is 168 hours
That scrub machine was was so cool! Love watching your videos! 💕
I'm chocked that instead of going to sleep quickly before getting paged you're filming what's in your bag😂That's dedication💕love your energy 💜
One of the reasons why I love you and your videos so much is because you always keep a huge smile on your face and you're always motivated to share information with us! Thank you for doing this☺️

A puffer jacket is essential for nights!!! I used to walk around with a blanket on my shoulders (used to pretend it was a cape 😂😂)
Haha amazing - yeah I love to get the warm blankets from emerg ☺️👌
first year solutions ;)
I see you in every medical video.... In comment section 😕
I just finished night service and it was so busy! You make it look so effortless. #teamnosleep
Haha aw you are sweet... but I definitely feel the struggle, especially at 4am... that’s always the worst time for me!!
I love your excitement and energy for your work, I don't know how you survive those overnight shifts.

I’m a nurse and it’s great to see ur journey. It definitely gives me an idea of what the docs feel like when I️ call. :)
I love her attitude, she is always so happy and enthusiastic, I love it
I started as a medical scribe in the ER and am now a paramedic and soon to be PA! Love your videos. It’s crazy to see all of the little similarities and differences from hospital to hospital. Such a fan. Wishing you the best and I can just tell you’re going to have a fantastic career!
Says medical field isn't that high tech. Casually opens a vending machine for clothes.....but really, your vlogs are great :)
I found your channel about a month ago and finally just subscribed. I don’t like to subscribe immediately channels but I have fallen in love with your channel. It’s not even the type of stuff I typically gravitate towards. I guess that seeing I have a complicated medical history I find the whole thing interesting. Keep up your great work and I will look forward to following you.
how do you look so adorable at 4am then 6am??! no sleep and still so positive!!❤️
Always so friendly and happy. You are so lucky to be a Dr! Girl you rock!

Just found your channel today. Those scrub machines are soooo cool!
You look like gonna be a great doctor, congratulations because even though you tired you keep a good mood, should be proud of yourself pretty lady
LOVEE YOUR ENERGYYY
Wow! That scrub system is so high tech! At my hospital there is just a cart and you grab them like a free-for-all, then there's a big bin to dump them in when they're dirty. Amazing!
Just finished watching some of your videos and I had to comment and tell you how great this channel is! I was born in Winnipeg as well, and moved to Nova Scotia to do a masters degree. I am considering medical school (which is how I found your channel), and I just had to say that the information and footage you provide is so incredibly helpful in many ways, so thank you!
Great to hear from you Hayley - thanks for reaching out!!
Awesome video! I️ love ur channel! I️ clicked on the notification so fast lmao
Love your vlogs!!!!! You give me inspiration to always be positive because you always have a smile on your face and I want to be like that! Side note, what shoes do you wear that doesn't make your feet hurt?
Going into bio med class this year and wanting to go into the medical field. Your videos help me out on what i want to do!
Aahhh I'm so excited for this video 😍😍🎉
You’re very pretty and seem very sweet and down to earth. So glad I came across your channel!
Your videos are awesome!!!!! Thank you so much for your amazing work:)
Thanks Anna!
It’s so relaxing listening to you😌
You are amazing. So smart. So fun. So kind. So pretty, too!
I appreciate you showing us your bag instead of getting those extra minutes of rest! Thank you!
Hi Shioban! You are so inspiring and peaceful. I love your videos. Please make Storytimes
Love that you always have a smile on your face! Your positive attitude is amazing, I know how hard it can be. 4th year & my end goal is trauma.
What was your residency match experience like? I only remember the stress 😂
So it was 25 hours shift!...no sleep how did you survive!
Dude these vlogs are AWESOME. Makes me excited about phlebotomy and nursing school
Aw thanks Kristy!
Huge props to you for always doing such an amazing job at your on calls! I wouldn't be able to function on next to no sleep! Ahaha keep up the awesome work! 😊
Love your RUclips videos 😊 thanks for sharing 💕💚
Your amazing doing such a long shift must be so hard x
Your skin still in good even you're having busy schedules. Amazing! Could you share some tips? Your enthusiasm and passion in medical field spark my interest 😄
I've been watching your videos for a wee bit now. I have a chronic illness and deal with drs a lot. I love watching you, because I get to see their perspective. And you're really pretty and have an awesome personality :)
I too have a chronic illness and I find this interesting as well. She's a good Dr. don't you think? Her pts are lucky.
I think she is an awesome dr. What chronic illnesses do you have if you mind me asking? I have Ankylosing Spondylitis and Fibromyalgia. I have a couple of tests I need to get done in the near future for stomach issues, but American health care is so expensive.
I think it's so sad that you in the USA have to pay for your medical care, I feel so blessed to have Canadian Health Care. I would be so financially broke if I had to pay for all the surgery and care I have had to have since being diagnosed 27 yrs ago. Ok so I have Crohn's Disease, arthritis, I've had a heart attack called a SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection) It's not a regular heart attack it's when your heart tears. So it's not cuz I have high cholesterol or anything like that, also chronic fatigue. So those are all auto immune and no surprise to that I also deal with depression and anxiety. There are long spells I can go off meds, but there are times I need them. I have no shame attached to needed meds for mental health reasons so when it's time I need them I go back on them. Presently I am on them again triggered from a cancer scare I had last year and needed a radical hysterectomy as well they cleaned out as much endometriosis and adnometriosis sp?) when they opened me up. They actually cut me open from above my belly button to as low as you can go. They took out all my insides cleaned up the 10 lb mass and as much endo as possible. Then put me back together. I am so grateful to those Oncology OBGYN's they were amazing!! I also am so fortunate that I live in Canada and I got diagnosed and in surgery in less than 3 months and all of it was free. I'm also needing corrective surgery as all my abdominal muscles tore in the major surgery so I need to go back in to get that corrected. However because I have Crohn's they can't do it laparoscopic they have to do major abdominal surgery again which I am not looking forward to. I was supposed to have it last moth but I landed in hospital needing emergency surgery Crohn's related so this other surgery is being pushed off into the new year. :( So yup that's me.
I am so sorry to hear you have had to go through all that, but thank goodness you have Canadian Health Care. There have been times where I wish I lived in your country, still do, considering the fact my government is making it more expensive. You have such a bright out look on things it sounds. You're an amazing person :)
Saturn dazed74 I hate living my chronic illnesses but o have got used to it #dealingfor4years
That scrub machine is amazing!
i love how u have added the bitemoji it’s soooo cute!
Wow!great video's,great personality too.
I love your channel honey.
Merry Christmas🎈
I was thought you were wearing a white robe in your intro and I JUST realized it was your white coat 😂 I love your videos! Always so organized and thought out.
I CANT STOP WATCHING YOU!!!!!!
You are absolutely amazing.... I have no idea how Dr’s make it through all of the residency portions..... I’d be sick all the time from weird sleeping patterns. Hope you slept well :-)
I had no idea about the scrub machine! So interesting!
Q: during the holidays or major family events, have you ever had a day off (Thanksgiving, Christmas, weddings, etc.) and have been called in to work during the middle of dinner or event? If so, how does your family take it? We have police officers and firemen in our family so I was just curious. Hope all finds you well ☺️
Thank you for all that you do!
Omg!! I love your jacket!
Thanks Claudia!
what kind of working out do you do usually?
what would you like to specialize in the future?
I love so much your videos... you inspired me ..
YAYYYYY highlight of my week
Haha I always thought that doctors just had a ton of scrubs in their closets at home. Didn’t know there was a vending machine for them 😂
The scrub machines are awesome!
It’s cool seeing how a resident’s day is through your videos. Love your vlogs!
Thanks Adnan!
Q: Bit morbid, but I’m curious. Have you had to call someone’s time of death yet? Thanks for the vlogs! It’s so intresting!
youre so positive and lovely
Love watching your videos your always smiling 😀 you do an amazing job 😀
Thanks Joanne!
This might sound silly but I like it when you tell us about the patients and how sick they are. I’m very sick myself Gastroeosophagael reflux disease and Tracheomalacia, cystolic heart murmur. I’ve had these for my whole life. I’m 16, I find it hard because of bullying which leads to severe depression to keep fighting for myself. I go to a support services and have support. I told my mom this one time that one of my support workers loves Disney songs and sings them. Then I started singing a Disney song that I always fell sleep listening to, my mom said I need to grow up and stop singing Disney songs. I asked my mom why my support workers can sing Disney songs and they’re adults. My mom said because they work with children. I realised when she said that. I’m one of those children who they work with.
I appreciate all the things you do for us humans. Especially going near critically ill covid patients and risking getting yourself very sick.
Thank you so much Siobhan!!!!! 😀😀😀😀😀
U are the only person I know that knows what kofta is, i am surprised, and happy 😬
Even though I’ve done many night shifts I still keep looking what do other people carry in their bags just in case... #teamnosleep 😅 greetings from Venezuela!
You should do a video about what do you wear in the hospital. Like cloths not scrubs. Its always a question what to wear casual but not too casual like that.
You seem like such a good resident doctor and I love your joyful peronality! Do you find yourself looking up things from the pocket medicine often?
YES ANOTHER ONE OF THESE VIDEOS! 💕 Question: What was/is the hardest thing you've faced thus far as a on-call medical resident? Was it remembering a certain topic? A scary experience? Or something simple, like sleep deprivation? Btw, that scrub machine was so cool, I've never seen something like that before!
Mmm great question! I’ll add that into a Q&A because it’s too long to answer here!! Thanks Alexa!
Okay, and of course!! Can't wait! ☺️
Are there any dress code rules you have to conform to? Like can you have nail art or crazy colored hair?
Nail art most definitly not, short clean nails is a must if you work in a hospital
Recently discovered you and thank you for posting and sharing your day with us. What is the funniest thing that happened when you were on duty? What is the scariest thing?
Love your channel! I have kind of a weird question. I'm a licensed psychotherapist and can have very long days- I too will get nausea when I haven't eaten in a while. How do you prevent this, or what do you eat to help out in these moments? Would love some tips. Thanks!
I was going to say the charger is very important. I bring it with me during the day too.
watching your vids is motivating, i am gettingg ready to write my step 1 in a year
Love your videos... I'm neither a doctor nor interested in becoming a doctor. I want to know what happens if you take the scrubs home and forget to turn them back in or if you keep them? Do you have to pay for them eventually? I always thought you had a closet of scrubs at home to use.
Joy Hansen at my hospital, the scrubex won’t let you get another pair until you return the previous ones.
Hello. I just had a few questions that I hope you can answer in a video sometime. How do you avoid bringing hospital germs to your home? Do you have any tips? Do you wipe your phone or bag down with wipes or something? Do you leave your shoes at the door? Do you change before you get home at the hospital all the time or just when working in areas like the infectious disease ward? Any advice on this sort of stuff would be very much appreciated. Thank you! Love your videos!
I’m about to take a shower and I’m playing your blogs so I can learn while showering. I’m thinking of going to med school.
That scrub dispenser is the neatest thing
hello! im a college student studying biochem for pre med, im interested in orthopedic surgery. i LOVE your vlogs!!! and also your hair lol! definitely a new subscriber! :)
oh also i play the piano!
How do you have SO much energy? Im amazed!
Awesome video
I just found your channel a couple days ago. Loving your vlogs! :) It would be fun to sometimes see what you eat in a day. Also do you drink coffee or just tea?
I'm loving your channel and videos! I was pre-med until I nearly flunked out in undergrad. Now, I'm a lawyer. 😂 Anyway, my question for you today is: why do you switch hospitals during the day/week? On Grey's Anatomy, they stay in one hospital all the time. 😂😉
Had a patient ever recognized u from RUclips?
Interesting question! No not yet!
@@ViolinMD I hope they are still alive 😁
I love your videos and I find them really insightful! I have a question about interning at a hospital, for my high school I need to find a place to do an internship for a research project for 13 weeks during either the fall or spring semester of my senior year. I was wondering how can I contact my local hospital asking for an internship? Thank you so much and keep up the great videos!
Hey again! I'm curious as to why they have you working all day/ all night? You'd think as a doctor they'd want you to have proper sleep lol regardless, you're a trooper! it's inspiring to see your gratitude and positivity. I'm not interested in pursuing a career in the medical field but your videos are still my favorite! I hope you have a nice day xx
Hi Katie - it’s something most residents have to do while they are training and I agree it’s not ideal! Some countries have stopped doing it for that exact reason... who knows if that will happen in Canada too!
I don't know how i'll survive these long working hours after graduation , i'll just fall asleep . God be with you
Love your videos! My question would be do doctors get sick a lot? I’ve always wondered, especially for family medicine!
Great question!
What are your top 3 favorite departments to work in
Have you ever come across any rare conditions in patients during your training so far? And what's the most challenging case you've had so far? Love your videos so much! Thank you so much for sharing them with us all :) have a wonderful day!
Hi Rachel! Great questions.. I’ll answer those in future videos for sure!
Violin MD Aww thank you so much Siobhan! That'd be awesome! Can't wait to hear your thoughts :)
