Always like your videos and opinions . Its cool you ride with your Dad. My dad followed me for years ,thousands of miles ,. First winter without him as he passed away in September. Cherish the moments and miles!
Most of the cats have a small bellows on the throttle body linkage to keep the idle high for 5 seconds after releasing the throttle to help burn raw fuel before closing, it prevents the throttle blade from closing fast and a rich fuel mixture going into the atmosphere its pollution control devise This is why your sled won't idle down immediately after releasing the throttle lever.
I've had both the Curve XS skis and SLP Powder Pros on my procross sleds, the Curves are a better trail ski and the Powder Pros work better in loose snow as you would expect. The Curves with a single 6" carbide offer far superior turn in bite without much more effort than the stock skis. The Powder Pros with a 6" carbide will bite so hard going in to a corner it will slide your ass off the seat but there's not enough dumbbells in the gym to prepare your arms for the workout they'll receive.
Any sled trips planned this year? Been a bad year in eastern Ontario, been trailering to the snow this year. Nice thing about where I live, If you drive 1hr north or west you will find it. Are you going to ride with Kotabear this season? Brapp on buddy
Sounds to me like pulling some preload out of the front skid shock would be my 1st move from what you described.By no means a professional or overly experienced, just had the same issue with my zr and done a lot of research. Been on the road. Haven’t had a chance to attempt that just yet but will be if I actually see it again this year.
Good video. We’ve been suffering from low snow totals in Michigan too. I just bought a 18 El Tigre 137 600. Having a hard time with the adjustments myself. I think it’s going to be great once it’s dialed in. Power looks solid on the Riot.
Tough year snow wise for sure! Nice yeah definitely not the swing a leg over and go type of sled but I feel like I can get it dialed in as well just need more time to feel it out. Yeah power feels solid. Curious to see how it does on the top end once it's out of break in
Falken Wildpeak A/T's generally they've been pretty good but with the wet sticky snow and trailer loaded up with 3 sleds they just weren't getting it done.
Yeah with where the tires are under the trailer it has a lot of tongue weight. My ram has the offroad package so its sits a little higher too which I think just adds to more bounce and wiggle. Ideally the assault and riot would be at the back but the rear ramp is shot so we exclusively use the front door. My buddies rev doesnt get used every weekend so we stick it in the back.
One think that bugs me about my Indy 137 is the rear walkers aren’t clickers! And I didn’t know that until I tried adjusting them this weekend😑 wtf Polaris!? lol also no tether🤷🏻♂️ have to buy after!? What is this the 80s!? lol also for break in it says in the manual total break in hours above 5500rpm so stupid question but that mean she won’t come out a break in mod if you haven’t had it at or above 5500 for the 10 hours? And when did you switch from E10 mode to 91 non ethanol?
Yeah the no tether is crazy. Constant complaint for the polaris buyer for the last 6 years. Yup has to be 10 hours above 5500 rpm but with clutch engagement at what around 3200-3500? "I've never really paid attention with stock clutching" most of the time the sled is above that. Not sure how your season has been but these break ins suck on the no snow years... trying to get the riot out of it has been a bear with our crap season. I ran mine for the first 200ish miles in ethanol mode but as long as you're running 91 non ethanol run it in that mode. Some dealers say run it in ethonol mode during break in but general consensus is that it doesnt need to be done and doesnt have any real positive or negative effects on break in.
You should have gotten the riot x man if you wanted something more playful this a a 50/50 the riot x from what you do would seem to fit your riding style better. Also if you want your skis on the ground with rider input is put your front shocks on soft your front skid shock on soft and your rear one on hard see if that gives you what you want
Needed to turn around to access the front door to the trailer once parked. Building is paved all the way around but wasnt plowed that day. The trailer has been hard on bearings throughout its life so my dad tries to take sweeping turns rather than tight ones whenever possible. Combination of bad luck and bad ideas.
My thundercat has 190 miles on it, and it wouldn’t start on trail. So far all I know is the starter motor is bad. Once the dealer gets it to start they can find out more. They mentioned sensor faults possibly.

That's awesome! For sure man been watching you for a while your channel is doing great! I'll reach out through Instagram DM and see what we can work out.
With the 1.3 track the most ove seen is 103 on the gauge. The day i ran a GPS to confirm i could only get 93 mph out of it on the gauge which was 87 mph on GPS

Sorry to hear that
You have to turn the traction control off when your stuck in snow. Try to remember that.

Thanks! Yeah I read up on that after the video was filmed. Good to know it's no big deal and that's by design 👍

You should try adjusting or taking out the coupling blocks. Its really easy and it obviously makes it want to wheelie a lot more.
The Riot is uncoupled so no blocks to remove unfortunately. Would've been a good place to start if not tho!
@@Revrider550 Ohhh I thought the riot x was the uncoupled one. How about the limiter straps are those already all the way out?
@@Revrider550 Also great content!
Northern Maine has some good snow right now

It rev hangs to cool the cylinders down then idles down once it dose the cycle

Another great video! We have had a good amount of snow here in Wisconsin, got some good riding before January.
I don't remember the last time it has been this good here in WI. We have been dropping in siren or Danbury.
Did you burn through the belt on the Riot? Sounds like it is way too tight. Good video though, thanks for the info comparing the two.
The Arctic Cat clutches are self adjusting thats what the noise is actually. Interesting tech but pretty noisy. Thanks glad you enjoyed it!
Whatcha got for tires on that truck? Think you need some snow tires or better All terrains.
Falken Wildpeak A/T's generally they've been pretty good but with the wet sticky snow and trailer loaded up with 3 sleds they just weren't getting it done.
What mic are you running ?
Do you get a lot of wiggle going down the road with your new ram pulling that trailer?

Revrider550 ya our “snow” seems to come and go as it pleases🙄 I’m at 220kms (137miles) unfortunately closest snow is 3-4 hours away.

Lol, waiting to catch the next storm.....I've been waiting almost a month! Well, here's to maybe catching you up there for the next one 🍻
Why don't share the basic details of where we are, where we're going, drive time, details on group
So..... Why did you drive your truck down there? There seems to be a parking lot elsewhere.... Drive the sleds in that stuff

Your riot rides so flat compared to mine . Mine is always wanting to dangle the skis. Also it idles down when egts get lowered down to 840 f
FREAKING SWEET RAPTOR AT THE PARKING LOT!!
I have not been riding all year and this is the only way I can get my fix for riding Lmao
Been a tough year man! Glad I can help scratch the itch. Hope ya get out there soon!
Ha! Loving big robs new gear!
The riot sounds like a four stroke some times
Yeah makes some crazy sounds. Sounds almost electric or like a hybrid at times lol
best riding videos as always man 🔥
Thanks man!!
My 2020 arctic cat is in the shop. Hopefully this never happens again
Dang what happened?

You need to move more north if your gonna own nice sleds like that.
That's a sharp thumbnail 👍
Thank you! I'll let Josh know, hes the man behind the camera.
You need some decent tires on that truck, and a decent truck j/k 😂
So in short Polaris still rules. 😎👍
The Switchback Assault won't be de-throned. Most versatile "best of both worlds" crossover sled available. Period.
Awesome video
Thank you!
I almost got stuck myself also!!!
Haha lucky ya didn't quick way to waste 45 minutes of ride time!
@@Revrider550 lol well when i almost got stuck i just hammered down in fourwheel drive!! Just going to fucking send it bud!! lol
Hey man, one of my viewers just brought you up. Nice vids! Any interest in a collab someday? :)
