This video gave me some pointers on how to install the driver's side window on my '88 Grand Wagoneer. Its not as easy as the video makes it seems, especially for my truck. You have to start out from the inside and twist in, instead of the outside (like for this video). Once I aligned the window in the frame, I had to open the vent window and partially drop that portion of the frame in to the door so it could clear the front corner. Took me about 2 hours lol. I'm paying someone to do it next time.
Working on my 74 looks like the vent window can stay in place while replacing weather strip. It looks like a two piece vs. one long strip? Looks like the 73 thru 80 are slightly diff. then 81 to 87. Let me know if I'm wrong so I don't expend too much effort for no reason. By the way, great added value to your product and services to post these, thanks a ton!
Hello. Yesterday, I replaced the passenger side power window motor (acdelco) and it worked good until today when I replaced the window channel guide seal and now it struggles and won't go all the way up without me pushing it up. Did I do something wrong or does the seal need to break in or what?
Will vent windows fit in a 91 k3500 cheyenne. My current glass is scratched and dinged. And i hate the mirrors..... previous owner abused the truck. And broke a lot of stuff ..... i miss vent windows.... i liked them more than rolling down the whole window...... Ive redone the exhaust system Wired in speakers and stereo Did a little tuning on the 350. Detailing etc etc New glass and a dash repair are next......
Excellent video. But my 1975 chevy pickup needs the vent window seal done AND my main window is not broken, I have the inner door panel off, no problem but getting the vent window out without breaking the main window is a worry. Is there another video?
The window track at the back is held on with two bolts. Remove the bolts and separate the track from the rubber. The window will now slide to the rear part of the door allowing you to pull the vent window or at least access to the seal.
great video. what kind of glue did you use on the weather stripping? and I have an 85 suburban, ate the rear door windows about the same process? they have a small window towards the rear of the door, does that need to come out also?
+Jojo Morales We carry the 3M weatherstrip adhesive. It's good stuff. Here's a link to all of the weatherstrip that we carry for your truck. We have a huge selection of seals for this application. Hope this helps you out goo.gl/ZjGqq9

hello 1 a auto I left a comment about my vent windows in my 1986 gmc truck I had redone and I put them back in and they are leaking around the rubber flaps ant at the bottom of the rubber flap can you help me are tell me why??
Any chance you could do a vid on a rear sliding glass out of an early 80's C-10 pick-up? Thanks for the vids btw, it's awesome to have someone help out.
I replaced my window channels on my 84 chevy truck but now my passenger side window keeps falling out of the channel when I roll it down. What keeps the window forward towards the vent window and why is my window loose?
Brian Brown : Those parts are called window inner and outer seals. Some even call them Door window wipers. "Felt" is another term that is used. Several companies offer these parts for sale, clearly 1Aauto does as well. Check with them via the phone number.
+InsaneInshoreFishing We currently do not carry the actual glass. We carry the replacement window regulators. A glass company in your area should be able to get replacement glass for your vehicle. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com

You may want to remove the door panel and take a look inside of the door to see if the regulator has broke. If it has you may need to buy a new window regulator. We carry new ones on our website, 1aauto.com 866-403-3393
also its not that easy as the video shows.how he puts the vent window back in and it just pops right in not the case on all these older trucks they were different ntollings on all these vent windows and some of them you have to really push it hard to get the top screw lined up.
you also need to metion the screw you take out at the top of the door to put it back in because if you don't the window will leake like sh-t that screw pulls the outside of the door in to secure the rubber flaps inside the window.
