I just can’t praise you enough, brother! This is such a GREAT channel. You’re informative, yet very stern, blunt, and straightforward. But it’s always in a kind, sincere sort of way. That’s rare these days, and I just absolutely appreciate the heck out of you, and what you do for people. It takes a very genuine person, to be able to do what you do, and explain things the way you do, and not come across as simply “arrogant”. I never ONCE get that vibe from you. I always finish a video thinking to myself- “Man, another GREAT video, from someone who truly cares about teaching and helping”. Tons of fun, my friend. As I’ve said before.. I’m strictly a pocket change hunter. But the day I buy my “must have/holy grail” coin that could never be found in pocket change.. I will buy from you, and only you, without a doubt! Thank you for what you do!

I see a lot of Lincoln’s and a few others with grease from the mint still on some of the errors I find. I can tell because it’s imbedded in the deepest point on the coin. I have learned to spot it when opening UNC mint rolls that have never been circulated . When I open them and see some varieties and errors there is still black greasy residue on the coin. I have examples and will post on my Facebook page if needed James Thetford.

@@CoinHELPu Thank you, I appreciate it. If possible, I have one more question regarding Lincoln Cents that I just came across a few minutes ago while checking current cents. I haven't seen or heard anyone talk on this and I'm curious to know if this needs collectors' attention or is not important. The letters VDB appears on the bottom shoulder edge of all the current Lincoln cents. Is it possible for these to be missing and cause an error? I haven't checked any prior 59s. for it. Thanks again.

You probably could make a set of dies that you could punch coins with a hydraulic press with. Just need a few tools to do it with. Mill, lathe 2-6 ton Press

If you have a lathe and a Galvano to create the dies.

And of course several hundreds of hours to embellish the dies like the mint does. lol 😂
Just be thankful pressing metal is extremely evident. You will see a whispy cloud coloration on the edges of close edges of reliefs (the actual coin details) .. very hard to fake such things.

Is it worth looking for errors in new Mint stuff?
I found a really cool minor strike through on my 2021 D Morgan Dollar that PCGS graded MS70 but I didn’t do variety attribution so they didn’t label it.
The only reason I know it’s an error for sure is that it’s noticeable with the naked eye and yet the coin still got an MS70 grade. There is no way the graders missed it so by default the only explanation for the 70 is that it’s an error.

    Good morning,
Just ran across this 1964 Lincoln cent with obvious damage. After watching uour video about the minting process, I'm thinking this damage has a sliced look, not normal. The back also looks like it's been struck through grease. My picture taking isn't so great hope, you can at least see the big slice enough to tell me what I have here. The top of the coin around rim at top has a line of melted looking mini cuds, if that makes sense. Hope these attachments go through.
