I bought one coin from MorganDealer in 2023. The coin was falsely advertised through deliberate smudging and blurring of defects. Ebay is fine but watch what you're doing. Make sure they have ultra clear photos and many positive reviews saying that the coin was exactly as described. Many of them have brick and mortar stores behind eBay. Do some googling. It'll save you money over eBay too by dealing directly with them.

Oh and no less than a 30-day, no questions asked, return policy. That's an absolute must. I don't care how good the deal is. Any honest dealer would invite a 30-day inspection of the coin. It's only fair that a buyer gets to hold the coin in his hand before he makes the absolute final decision on keeping it.

Daniel, can I ask how you take your pictures for when you yourself list.....is it a Microscope with your phone attached? Or do you have an actual camera setup?
The only argument I'd say for Morgan Dealar is this.....although the pics are altered, the customers must be happy overall if they are NOT returning the coins and actually leaving good comments with a 99.7% Positive reviews. I've read the reviews of the negative/nuetral ones of Morgan Dealer and those all say he immedietly refunded their money when they complained. I'm not saying what MorganDealer is doing is right....but clearly there isn't enough people upset for a 40 dollar coin to leave them unhappy enough to return it and then leave a bad comment......the customers seem pretty happy.
    Just my 2 cents,
Thanks for the videos. I watch all of them!

That first image of the Morgan obverse reminded me of Barbara Stanwyck in the "Big Valley" TV series. She was a great beauty in early movies, and was still quite attractive in her 50s on the TV series, but she was showing her age a bit. So when the camera was on her, they would use bright and diffuse lighting, and maybe they put Vaseline on the camera lens. Then when the camera switched to one of the men, the lighting would be harsh and you could see the guy's pores and 5 o'clock shadow.
I guess the same principle was used when photographing this coin. But still: let the buyer beware. If a coin looks MS67+ in an image, ain't NOBODY going to sell that coin raw.

I think it was a great idea for you to do this for a video for everyone and I appreciate that
Another point id like to make is that many of these high volume sellers hide behind a 100 percent free return policy and just bank on the fact that 3/4 of people won’t utilize that so it’s a numbers game.
Even when they do get negative feedback they’re able to have eBay take it down for them so their 98%-99.9% seller ratings are very misleading

You been had. I bought recently on 8/27/24 from Morgan Dealer off ebay too. I purchased a Morgan 1884-CC $480 and 1883-CC $511 both BU+++ and 10 other supposedly high grade uncirculated Morgan silver dollars. Each of them were all auction bids and I won them all. I racked up a bill of $1644 which is left on my ebay cart awaiting payment. It says in the listing that payment is due after 7 days of winning so I didn't pay and kept shopping for more coins to bid from this seller. Then I had to triple think what I was doing I was wandering Why are all the pictures of all the coins on this sellers ebay store look so good and brand new compared to other ebay sellers pictures selling Morgan silver dollars. I thought about google searching about this seller and search on RUclips. I was lucky I came to this RUclips video and I put a halt of paying Morgan Dealer and opened a dispute with Ebay customer service. Ebay says don't worry about it, they found it on my favor that I don't have to pay this seller and Morgan Dealer will be investigated.

I've sold coins on the flebay for over a decade. I've never manipulate my images for anything I've sold. It's just not worth the trouble of returns. Good pictures also protect the seller to prove any issues a buyer may raise, are existing.
What this seller is doing is despicable, and possibly criminal. Everyone with an eBay account should report this seller.
This seller has over 1300 listings and every single listing I've seen is manipulated in the same way. I've reported a dozen listings. Only 1290 to go...
Everyone watching this video should report all listings with manipulated images. A return policy does not negate the need for accurate listings. It certainly does not remove liability from fraudulently presenting an item through manipulation of the images.

@@acousticshadow4032 I agree. I've gotten some fantastic deals on eBay. More often than not because the seller took a crappy picture of the coin. My most recent purchase netted me a Morgan silver dollar worth three times+ my purchase price - a 1900-O in BU condition (MS-64?) with a large die crack. And though the photo was bad, I could see enough details that I took a leap of faith and purchased the coin. It helped that the seller had 100% positive feedback and 30-day money back guarantee.

I knew my when I bought it the picture had to be manipulated cuz let's be honest, looks like it was just minted in most all his pics. Made me wonder if the coin I received is real. Can you confirm the coins you received are in fact real?

Wow! That's a big difference in quality. I'm not just a coin collector since I was 9-10 (and I'm 76)... it I've been a photographer since then also. I can say I honestly believe the seller had somebody sllightly
Blur the surface to make it appear clean and smooth in Photoshop. Total manipulation. Also...China has been reproducing American coins that ARE sold as replicas really cheap. A couple bucks. Look very real! I would not be surprised if the con artists are having Chinese coin replica manufacturers making them illegally for underground dealers who con amateur collectors. Just for the heck of it I bought a couple. And they look and weigh the same as the real coins. Unreal. I bought a few out of curiosity legally and I was impressed.

Yeah, I've seen those fakes too, they call them "album fillers" but they're just flat out counterfeits. They don't have any markings on them to indicate they're fake, so I reckon those sellers are breaking the law against counterfeiting. I wonder how many buy them & then resell them as real coins on Ebay? What a scam.

There is a silky translucent in the fields, which you never see on a genuine Morgan. I would just assume when you see this Milke white glow throughout the fields of the coin that it’s being manipulated.

I buy a lot of Morgans from eBay. I learned right from the beginning to ignore any Morgan Dealer listings. Every coin looks unnatural, like they've been tooled to begin with. Based on your video, the actual coins you purchased look better than the fake polished photos. I'm amazed at the number of people who get defrauded by that seller. The seller readily allows returns to avoid negative comments. It's a numbers game. Most people won't bother to return, or complain if they get their money back.

I bought a Morgan last year that was 'naturally' toned.. When it arrived, I could tell this was not the same coin I bought. My receipt stated 'artificial' toned Morgan. I asked for my money back with a prepaid FEDEX label, to no avail. I sent it back on my own with a signature required tracking and disputed it with eBay. I finally got a refund after 3 months.

Potentially new collectors will be disappointed by these type of sellers and gives the hobby a very bad look. Auction kings/Toliver James are even WORSE of photo manipulation. Thanks for exposing them.

You and I have discussed this before, but neither you nor I would ever buy a coin from a seller who posted images like that. He made that thing look like one of the modern Morgans.
People need to learn that well before the Internet and digital photography, Miss November didn't even really look IRL like Miss November in the porn mags...
Used car dealers used to put sawdust in worn out transmissions to muffle the noise for awhile, and they still use bondo to fill rust holes and then paint them over, which bubbles up and falls off six months later.
Buyers need to be educated to recognize this obvious fraud. You're doing a good thing to help with that.

Yes, you did get ripped off.
Thank you for revealing this suspicious activity.
Now, that I know what to look for, i can scroll down the list of morgan dollars on ebay and easily pick out the ones listed by this dealer.
I just did this, and at this moment in time, there are 8 listings from this dealer. As I said, they are easy to pick out from the other listings. That is because in all 8 listings, the coins each have the same smooth, flawless surface tone as your example.
Anyone who is familiar with morgans and stops to think about it, would realize they dont normally look this way!
Have you reported them to ebay as suspected fraudulent activity because they are manipulating the images?

Lord, I've watched this guy for ages. He is probably the biggest offender (at least in the Morgan world) of anybody, but there are dozens more doing exactly the same thing. His auctions always have a ton of bidders, and it is a mystery to me how he can continue on and on and on and people still line up to bid and bid and bid. Sometimes there are legitimate people selling coins that can't take very good pictures, but when you see someone who has hundreds or thousands of sales and all their pictures look the same, and there's no detail, you have to think there are some shenanigans going on.
