  • There’s a lot of talk about cherrypicking, but what about actual physical errors that are on coins instead of tough to see varieties? This video covers 20 different types of errors that are incredible to behold as they show what can go wrong at the mint. Despite producing billions of successful, problem-free coins, the mint also churns out a bunch of errors every year that were meant to be destroyed but somehow made it out of the facility, and this video will equip you with the basic knowledge of the wide range of what can happen. From counterbrockages to mated coins to fragments to indents, sit back and learn all about error coinage!

Like a woody right? Looks like it has a grain to it like a piece of wood does? Its from incorrectly mixed metals making the platchet yes. And they are pretty neat looking. Unfortunately they aren't valuable. Though it is a mint error. The funny thing is that you can't even detect it until the coin gets some toning, but when it dies instead of the color changing uniformly it does it in tiny lines that are like stripes but so thin and numerous that it looks like it has a texture. Where all of the brush strokes are all going the same direction like /// they will be on both sides of the coin btw. But yes that's what I think you are describing

Hey Christian, you forgot a good one on your list. Die cracks. I have a dime with multiple die cracks where it looks like a shattered dinner plate. Like cracks going everywhere on the reverse and on the front of the coin is cool too, it has some letters to the left of Roosevelts face between his forehead and the word liberty. The letters also don't match up like it's from another coin all together. So there's two more errors. I would like to know if you've come across coins with different errors on one coin and how much something like this goes for. Love the content bro.
