No substitute for a visit in person, but for those halfway around the world, three-odd minutes of densely packed and thoroughly accurate information. Super video, man!
I recently visited Islay and four of its distilleries. It was very interesting to see the differences between the methods employed by the different distilleries, but I was surprised that a lot of Islay whisky is matured off the island in large warehouses on the mainland. I'm not sure how much of a difference this makes.
Personally I'm not a huge fan of Bowmore. I considered listing out all of the distilleries as there are so few, but I'm planning on doing the other regions as well and figured other than campbelltown it would be a little unnecessary. Plus it's designed to be a short video and most people know the distilleries I mentioned.
I love Islay whisky, even named our little Corgy girl Islay. Cheers!

Super video, man!
Thanks Elmonte!
Nice job, Bill! It's a great job getting straight to the heart of what Islay whiskies are all about.
Bliss and perfection!! Cheers Bill!!
Thanks Christine!

Always impressed with how efficient these videos are. Great job.
Thank you
Fantastic video. Just getting into scotch I found this educational and entertaining. Love the concise nature of the video
Thanks! I enjoy making these 3 minute videos

Great video. ❤
When it comes to scotch whisky, I can't leave Islay. Currently into Kilchoman.
what about Bowmore, Kilchomen, and the new Ardnahoe, and the recently reopened Port Ellen, and the oldest distillery on Islay - Bowmore.

Best comment about Boomore is silence. 😁🥂🙋♂️
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary I am not a fan of Bowmore but they do exist. Another 30 seconds would made the list complete!
@DileepB yea. It was probably a mistake to omit them and some of the others.
Nice video. Ardbeg and Lagavullin have been declining hard. Fortunately other Islay distilleries have stepped up
Lagavulin 8 used be my favorite until I had Octomore 8.3. For those who don't like Islay scotches; that's just more for the rest of us who do.
PLEASE DO WELSH WHISKY NEXT!!!!!!!!
That's a fun idea. Wonder if the views would be any good.
I plan to do one of these for everything
Where do they sell it??? ohio??
Scotch tastes like gasoline to me!
Well you got to try alcoholism!
Algorithm bump
You're my favorite kind of person
Talking about Islay whisky and forgot the best and oldest of all "BOWMORE"
Big Fail!!!! You have disqualified yourself
I didn't mention all of the distilleries on Islay, I just named the most popular.
Also, personally, I'm not a fan of Bowmore.
