Overall, a very good summary. A couple of points :
T1-left wheels will go over the paint stripe on the inside for maximum radius.
T14 (Bishop's) : you will touch the left curb on the entry but you can maintain throttle longer and will not touch the 2nd curb on the left. You will be more in the middle of the track and may well not get back to the left side of the track at T15. That's okay ;brake a little harder and make sure you touch the exit curb on the right.
T17 :your entry is spot on for most cars but your line will take you through a large bump on the inside. Let the car drift out another car width which will increase the radius and place you between the large bumps and back to full throttle quicker. As there are 42 other ways to do T17, you may find "your mileage may vary" :)
FYI : I drive a GT3 car and some lighter, higher downforce cars will be different.

The term, "Balanced Throttle", very important, I have learned, but never heard anyone speak of as you have here. I think that's one of the places peddle set might matter in helping.

I really liked this you should do one for each track.

This is one of the most difficult tracks for me.I don't seem to improve much no matter how much I practice.
I race with Rfactor 2 sebring track and the GT3 packs.

Great video, thanks very much! Learning this track, after watching your video I knocked two seconds off my Riley lap time, just squeezing into the 1.59.9x s. :)

As far as using markers, most of the time I don't use them. This method is especially good if you have cars next to you blocking the site lines to the markers. Turn 7 (the first hairpin) I use the painted lines, but really it's more timing than anything, because if you get a good run going, or you have little fuel, your markers might be different.

+John G. Hill That's why I pick markers on both sides of the track at least for the passing spots.

Great graphics and efficient use of language. Just the right amount of throttle on the info>. Thanks!

Very well done Shaun! It would be nice to have the input display (gas, brake, gears, etc.) in one of the windows during your hot lap. Even if the car that I'm working with is different, that could gave me an idea of the intensity of, where and when starts braking and acceleration. See you on the track!

Shawn, this is pretty damn cool! Thanks!
Sebring is one of my fav track, so this is quite welcome :)
Suggestion: use the in-engine slow motion to capture slow motion instead of your video editor.

Man, I wish I saw this before attempting to learn Sebring all on my own. It still wasn't too bad though, and I'll probably learn a lot more watching this video :)

    Great video! I struggle here.
Will be interesting if you do an Attack The Track at Sonoma IRL layout. There are no markers to look for in iRacing!!! I think I learned that track through rhythm and memory...

Now we're talking. How to go faster is what I need. I can often get into the top 10 of 30 sometimes even top 5 but how do those alians do what they do? What am I missing after years of study and practice? So thanks in advance Shaun.

+Game Over Rafa Everyone has their own markers. :) I certainly use some incredibly strange markers at a lot of tracks

    • @GamingXPTV
      @GamingXPTV 9 лет назад

+MrLithiumFox for sure, but it helps a lot and sometimes its easier To adapt then To "create" the marks. Something like the chewy side channel (think thats the name) where he shows the "live" actions showing where and how much he brakes and where and how much he acelerate... But of course you need To adapt To your driving style

Game Over Rafa Oddly, Empty Box had a pretty good "General" marking video I think that goes well hand in hand with this video
