This technique used to work for me before I got layers, but once I got layers it started taking twice as much time to put up a neat bun that would hold. Finally I got a hair doughnut, which makes it really easy-- I'm always in a rush to get from work to ballet, so it's important to me to have a fast way to put it up that will hold. Instead of using dozens of the tiny black bobby pins that bend out of shape after one or two uses, I recommend Bunheads' large bobby pins-- 8 is enough to hold my well-past shoulder-length hair, and one package of 12 has lasted me for the past 4 years or so.
When I was taking ballet classes (my last performance was in '01) I did it similar to how Elan did hers--though the last time was a struggle, as I was rocking shoulder-length hair at that point.
I cut a hole in a sock at the base where your toes go, ad then I put my hair in a ponytail and put the sock around the ponytail then I separate my hair so it covers the sock completely. Then I wrap 3-5 hair ties around it tucking in the extra hair. The. I place two hair ties that look like braided hair around it and hairspray it so it's not messy. It's called a sock bun.
Oh she is just adorable
I Dutch braid my hair, then tuck the ends back through the part of the braid that's attached to the head and wrap it into a bun!
Every dancer in your videos is always such a lovely and nice person! ^_^
This girl is so cute!! hahaha i liked!!
I love her hair! :P
I really like how she puts her pins in. I've always just stuck the bobby pins in straight but her way seems like it holds much better.
I do this except I braid my ponytail before I twist it into a bun
She's so good at it!!! I suck at hair buns -.-"
I've never heard the tip about continuing the line of your jaw up to your bun, but it makes total sense! Thanks for that (:
Aw Elan is so cute! :) I love it!
This was really helpful :D Thanks
I missed Elan!
It`s very cool.
Thanx. I needed suth a toutorial.^^
