Anaheim Ballet: More Than Dance... 3 Simple ballet pirouette turning exercises with Charlie Andersen of the Royal Danish Ballet. Enjoy! ballet ballet ballet...
I love the idea of the one friend turns-and then you turn- thing. It's a simple concept but I can see how playing that game with someone would be great practice for both parties involved! (Competitive & Fun). This video definitely got me inspired to practice turns.
Thank you! :D I just got a ballet bar installed into my house and turns are my weakest point, I will for sure at lease be doing the bar excersise. As a male dancer, it pushes me so much more to see what I COULD become if I keep working at it. Thanks again.
Thankyouthankyouthankyou!! I'm doing auditions next year and with my professor's help and my own personal training tips I'm picking up from places like Anaheim Ballet, I feel like I'm going to be ready. :)
that was exactly how I learned to pirouette from 4th. I think the best concept is to take your time in the beginning to really make sure your alignment and technique are perfect for those 1/4 turns. This way you build better muscle memory.
Ive noticed I get dizzy easier when I'm spotting in the mirror because its shows the whole room there's to much to look at I do better spotting the corner or something on the wall at eye level
I had an excellent teacher who taught us to keep our weight really on the forward foot while prepping in 4th for a pirouette. At first it feels a bit farther forward than you might think you should be. But when you pull up from that place, the stability/centeredness is amazing.
This is sooooo amazing ! These guys are so talented. I don't even understand how it's physically possible to do 5 pirouettes. XD I've managed 3, but I don't think I'll get any better ! Pirouettes are not part of the things I love doing, though. But when I see a video like this... Makes me want to practise more !
My friend went to Anaheim Ballet's Summer Intensive. She told us that the floors are amazing and she normally can do a double sometimes a triple and there she could do more. I definitely want those floors at my studio!
OHMYGOD the amazing thing is before i watched this video, i was like falling out in all of my pirouettes, and after i watched it for 30 secs and paused and it tried again, and i actually did one with controll !!!!!!!
definitely adding this to my favorites!

INCREBILE. The precision and focus is amazing, I just got up to 3 turns :D
Am I the only one trying hard to "spot" but still get dizzy? T_T I always lost balance while pirouette..any tips for me?T_T
Ive noticed I get dizzy easier when I'm spotting in the mirror because its shows the whole room there's to much to look at I do better spotting the corner or something on the wall at eye level
And if I notice I'm losing balance in my turns its usually because my muscles aren't engaged and my back is arched to much hope that helps
i spot well it really needs a lot of focus and don’t spot something too far away
MEEEE!
his legs are sooo strong. And the precision is Amazing.
