"austin's probably on her first pair of pointe shoes" she says as she does a perfect fouette on pointe.
dude sam is an amazing turner... wish i could turn like she does.
im a hip hop dancer but i really love just watching these videos
Glad I came across this video, as Discount Dance is where I get most of my dance supplies.
don't wanna defy this because i love these vids, but I did ballet for 3 years and stopped when i moved and i definitely wasn't at the pointe stage, but i have just started again, instantly en pointe with no teacher and i didn't injure myself at all! but then again, my mum trained as a ballet dancer and helped me A LOT!
Thanks for the discount! Glad to give yall some support!
I got permission to get my first pair of toe shoes yesterday. I'm going to get them tommorrow. Yay. Happy.
yay! 1:48! im not the only dancer with seriously laddered tights! love you vanessa!
Thank You!! :)) i now realize the ribbon tie ( have problems with that ) and decided thanks to you :)) iam going to do one cross over with the elastic rather than the cross with elastic first, ( tried that was horrible experience ) so thanks to your video... iam a little more enhanced in this knowledge :))))) Thank you once again. xo. Issi. p.s. and keep them tips coming i find them very handy.
This video is so fun! I watch it a lot!
I can't wait to go en pointe some day.

That makes me so happy!!!!!!!
I'm getting pointe shoes in January! I like to think of it as my teacher's Christmas present to me! :D I'm so excited! I'm 14, so it's a late start.
Awwwww Austin is soooo cute in this video
yayyy new video!
I'm 16 and I ordered a pair of pointe shoes, never had any training, and they fit nicely! I have done some pointe work in them and nothing has gone wrong. No worries people, I'm not planning on doing and leaps and pirouettes in them. I just have a pair for the fun of it!
I love Anaheim Ballet!!!
My ballet teacher takes us to get our pointe shoes when she thinks we're ready.
she's soooo pretty!
Your feet develop calluses, corns etc that make the skin tougher so it won't be as prone to blisters and what nots so yes, the feet do adapt to wearing pointe shoes. It's a good idea to wear some sort of padding or protection on your toes unless your teacher has instructed you not to do so (some dance instructors want you to feel the floor through your pointe shoes). Other options of padding are wool, socks, cotton toe pads. I recommend SkinnyDips for cotton toe pads.
For the people who is too old to start ballet or pointe shoes, (I'm 12 and I started pointe shoes like 3-4 months ago) in my class is a woman that is like 45 years old and started pointe like 1 year ago. And she has 2 children.
Awesome
I'm 13 and have been doing pointe for 7 months and ballet for a little over 4 years
i love ballet ♡♥♡♥♥♥♡
Thanks for the lession ^^
Im takin ballet in high school right now
and i think im going to be in JAZZ2 next year

(Although idk if we are going to wear

I wear the exact same shoes as Vanessa! That's really cool, even down to the width of the shoe :D
Okay, these people are just WAAAY too happy! XD

I'm getting point shoes in january =D ♥♥♥ I'm so exciting :D ... I can't wait !! #Loveballet
I get pointe shoes in august soo exited
@Sneaker4Night: You go to a professional pointe shoe store, basically a store with a wide variety of pointe shoes sold and you get a fitting. the more brands of shoes that the store carries the better. For the fitting they look at your feet, ask you to go on relevee, and look at the width of your foot see what you shoe size are. You try on a few or tons of pointe shoes and see which one is most comfortable and which one fits the best! they even ask you to go en pointe for a little! so fun!
Shes fun!
@TheRockbunny11 I started ballet when I just turned 13 and I went en pointe at about 16 and a half, depends how many classes a week you take, but I'd say at least a couple of years. :)
great video!
can you do one about - how to brake in your point shoes?
I also forgot to add that I'm a highly skilled martial artist with a sports medicine background. I've worked on strengthening my ankles with different strengths of therabands, but think I've done all I can with those. That's why I was asking about pointe shoes.
that's a very pretty leotard!
haha at first I was like, "are they really gonna say toe shoes instead of pointe shoes??" haha
@DiamondDancerForever I apreciated thanx for your advise
I forgot to add that I am a highly trained martial artist and I also have a strong ballet background. I have used different strengths of therabands, but I think I've strengthened my ankles all I can using them.
im going to start ballet soon yipey
I love toe shoes...mostly cuz they're pretty and I haven't gotten them yet
same here!
ballet ballet wow everyone is doing ballet!!!!!!!!!!!
haha! that little girl is beautiful ^-^
I just found out that Im going en pointe in June!
so exictedd :)))
@JustSamantha15 its not that late of a start. there is a girl in my dance class who go her first pair of pointe shoes when she was about 18. and another one got the when she was 20!
One thing I noticed that was not in the tips on how to tie your ribbons, is that your foot should be flexed so that the ribbons aren't too tight later. Maybe it's not that important, but my ballet teachers always taught us to do it that way.
i like vanessa, she is really nice and funny...
I finally!!! know what the shank and the vamp is!!!
@SihingAngelica actually i train 1 hr a week but practice about another half hr every week and have been doiing so since i was about 3 and im a pretty good ballet dancer.....
carino il video
Could you guys do video on make-up? And like the make-up you wear for different parts and how guys have to wear make-up. You guys should also do like a day-in-the-life type video.
You can do it both ways. I like the method you are using better.
@Gymnasticseverywhere i know this is gonna sound crazy but its actually easier to turn en pointe if you're doing it correctly! :)
@jenni32874- Therabands are a good way to strengthen the ankles, so it's good to be doing that. However, pointe shoes aren't -really- a method of excercise, so even if you do the slightest thing wrong it will hinder rather than help you. If you don't hurt your ankles, then you could hurt your toes or your knees or your hips, etc. etc... Best not to touch them unless you want to start dance classes (again?).
Do your feet get used to the pointe shoes after a while? Or do the pointe shoes always give you pain? Also I was wondering if it's better to use the jelly socks or just to not.
I have a question. I do not want to dance en pointe since I am not currently taking dance classes.
I was wondering if using pointe shoes, while holding onto something sturdy, like a countertop in front of you and only for very short periods of time and putting most of your weight on your arms, would be a good way to slowly strengthen my ankles.
Let me say this again, I do not intend to dance en pointe without a proper instructor. I'm just looking for another way to strengthen my ankles. I'v
I am guessing it is one of those snaps you use to attache the ribbons on your pointe shoes using a special plier. That way, you don't have to sew it one.
@mixermake
Oh wow! Thats a lot! But I understand! hahahah, good luck at the intensive! How long does it take you to go through 1 pari of pointe shoes????
You're just lovely dear!^^
@afhdiva100 7 minutes?! How long does it take to tie your flats? It should only take half a minute to tie both O.o How long have you been doing ballet overall?
Through my 12th pair of pointe shoes so far!
@ShufflingNewb I know right!! She did like 8 and I can only do 2 if its a good day!
I'm starting ballet really soon and I am 13. I was wondering how long you guys think it will be before I can go onto pointe shoes? I know the teacher will tell me when but I was just wondering... they look so pretty!
Oh and I've been doing feet 'exercises' type things haha to streghthing my arches for about a month now :)
@LeDuckism good job! :) i wont be going on pointe for a wile so i envy you haha
eu vou fazer ballet, e isso esta me ajudando muito asoaksoaks
That's actually a goo dage to start. My instructor makes sure your feet are done growing and you're ready before you go up, so the age that most girls in my studio go up is 13 or 14.
Is there a type of feet/toes that cannot go onto pointte? Im not a ballerina so its not really important for me, but say like if i was and i wanted to go en pointte and the tip of my toes bend forward so much more easier than backwards and my nails curl upwards, would that be a problem for a ballerina?
@RachelTXD she has bloch serenade
Congrats! :) ..When did you start ballet?
Can you tell us how i can see if my pointe shoes are done, and when i should buy new ones? :) That would be awesome!
How do you know which shoe is right for you?
VANESSA!!!! :D
i danced for 2 years, just went on pointe, and lost them, the pointe shoes. but that was 2 years 2 years ago. =( i want to dance ballet again.
does the discount dance offer still stand? cause i tried to use it today and it didn't work that i know of?
Hi! Its sort if out of the topic but its close... I was just wondering... What is the difference between the ouch pouches that cover the ball of the foot and the ones that don't cover the ball of the foot??
If anyone would please answer me that would be great!
Who calls them toe shoes?
It's useful for ur country.bcus we don't have any point shoe.
When I tie mine on the inside, the ribbons are different lengths. do I need to cut them?
There are great, so much fun and people often say they hurt, I don't think so unless you wear them for a really long period. For me they hurt after about 2 hours of wearing them.
I want Point shoes and I want to be in ballet again
@kat1528 i wear pointe shoes i usualy buy new ones when im not getting the support im comfortable with or it snaps then there no good at all
@Roccarocks i counted 8 or 9
you don't have to point your toes while tying the shoes?? Or you can leave your foot normal like she did?
@dancergirl183 mabey 7 mins was an exagararion nd i only hav elastics on my flats exept when doing a grade in my exam. I hav done ballet for 10 years but not at a proper skool just a saturday class but it takes longer than 30 seconds for me 2 tie them!!!!
I've in ballet for about 2 year and i want to be en pointe really bad but I don't know what to work on. Any advise?
I have been dancing since I was three and im 12 now and not on point yet urgg but I might next year I'm getting point shoes for my brith day to practice :D
dont they have pointe shoes that dont need ribbons? but are like stretchable at the foot
@KLOKLOKLO456 ikr! Most dancers I know had them as their first pair :')
I'm 14 just got mine yesterday!
how to I strengthen my feet to go on pointe?
"Everybody's happy! >:3"
LOL
do anaheim ballet dancers all use pointe snaps?
Hey It is not to bad... I started last year expecting to go on pointe when I was 16 but turns out I am strong enough, your toes hurt a little bit but if you do the strengthening exercises then you get used to it... :) hope it helped I have got some videos
