- Xiaomi has unveiled its first electric car named SU7 marking a significant expansion into the automotive sector. The car is currently in pre production but will be ready for sale in the coming months. It will initially be offered in China but Xiaomi is considering expanding to other markets.

Xiaomi isnt a competitor to apple? I have been using Xiaomi products from phones to air purifiers, fans ...all i can say is my wife's note 1 is still working since its first launch...though we both are using note 10 and 11, our note 1 and redmi 1 are still working except gotta to get new batteries, even our 1st generation air purifiers are still working...here in Singapore we can get almost every brand but xiaomi phones are really tough...i dropped over 20 times in toilet, floor, out of a car...and it works fine....so a competitor to iphone? No ...iphone is like a branded product for show offs only....for a teacher like me...i have seen enough students(100s) having iphones and samsung breaking down...no way i am getting an iphone even constantly being teased by my students...nothing to prove ...should see them when their iphone bends when they sit on it lol and i casually toss my xiaomi on the ground in front of them ..priceless!
will xiaomi release ad supported car? i don't mind watching 30 second ad before i can start the car, as long as its cheap.

I have more confidence in getting a Porsche as Porsche has been proven to make great cars. However, I think Xiaomi copying Porsche or Tesla or whoever is not necessarily a bad thing....just like iPhone copying Android phones in many of the latter's features.....personally, as long as the copying is legal in that it's not infringing any IP rights, and if new version is better than the original, then we, the consumer benefits. @@dirkp6350

Well, we will see what happens. It's too early to say anything for any Chinese EV manufacturers right now because there are so many obstacles to intervening with the Chinese around the world.
I hope the price will be affordable in Europe... but probably NOT :(
