These Wheels are the best wheels I have ever seen in terms of value and budget, You do not see companies sell wheels for this price point with all these features on there.... Right now I think Magene has taken the Crown as The best wheel on the market for the money. Check them out here at the link: woto.ink/VZNfqa And also if interested in buying you can use my code for 10% off at checkout CODE: GC10 Thank you for watching!!
I have a set of these wheels and have had them since Jan 24. I have 8,000k on them and they are fantastic. Fast, smooth and all importantly trouble free, Easy to set up as tubeless or clincher. I opted for clincher set-up and TPUs. The hubs are easy japanesy to service and maintain.
not a bad price, but these are house hubs. You can get similar spec from Elite, Yuanan (the OEM for Elite), if you email far sports you can bespoke the same thing as well, and in all 3 instances, you'll probably pay a bit less. For an off the shelf product though, it's nice. Carbon rims are crazy commoditized now. everybody and their uncle is either making rims, or selling rims. Would be interested to know if Magene is MAKING them or just buying them OEM from somebody else. In fact, far sports maybe ;)
DT Swiss hub "style" don't mean DT Swiss reliability. I got a set of highly praised wheelset by Hambini and hub went crunchy after one wet ride. Problem with those type of product is not if they can produce something quality, but can they deliver quality consistently. In my case, obviously it wasn't an Hambini special. I was able to return the wheel and get my money back. Now I have a set with authentic DT Swiss 240 hub. It's been reliable. Basically it depends on how much of a gamble you are ready to take and how easy/costly is it for you to ship back to the manufacturer in case of a problem.
@@etgrcc I have several Farsport wheels with several tousands kilometers and have no problem with their hubs. For me. Farsport Hypers are the best value wheels. And I had plenty of different wheels.
@rhozjan I know their rim is good and stay true even go over the pot holes. I am using their kaze series for my rim brake bike. Recently they have their in-house dt swiss hub rd261 which review by habini. There are not much review for this hub.
I started buying wheels like these. You need to be handy, for the price they are not going to be perfect! I take the hubs apart and i clean the little grease out clean well and put fresh grease on everything. You'll have have no problem for the common Rider!
Nice review. Any thoughts on the highly unusual radial spoke disk side rear wheel. I have a few sets of disk wheels, different brands and all are cross 1, 2, 3X.
yes they are the best wheel I have seen for the money they compete out there with any wheel this depth but the 23mm internal make them so comfortable to ride as well
@@GCPerformance18 Thank you! I was sold on buying CRW but the price gap between Yoleo Exar vs CRW for 40-45 is more than $500 CAD, so I will go with Yoleo Exar, unless you talk me out of it :)
when using a wheel like this with TPU tubes, don't you have to use rim tape? I just ordered the ICAN 52 WD (21 ID, 30 OD). The ICANs have Sapim steel spokes which I feel more secure riding. I'm not sure what I think about CF spokes although I saw a video where a guy spins the wheel and opens a beer bottle on the spokes.
go 23mm if you are buying now the tire fits the rim so much better and you get added comfort to the ride, it pairs with the rim wall better making it aprofile
@@GCPerformance18 thanks! I have 19mm wide now (which came with the bike) but I'll look for 23mm if I ever decide to upgrade. I was thinking to go 30mm tires with my existing rims to buy comfort but it might light bulb too much!
yea I doint think it owuld be an issue, they are a strong rim the only weak point if any would be carbon spokes but whatever would cause carbon spokes to break would probably damage a normal spoke too
Shame they have that "exposed" spoke interface at the hub - there are serious questions about their safety when 1-2 broken spokes causes other spokes to suddenly de-tension, resulting in catastrophic failure.
Anyone actually buy these wheels in US? There are several youtubers that reviewed the these wheels but seems like Magene provided the wheels. I was wondering what happens with duties and tax ordering direct from China. Could that add a couple hundred bucks to the price. I live/ride in CA.
We have a business that retails and wholesales magene products. We've order tens of thousands of dollars worth of stock from magene. Most larger ticket items work fine. Power meters are great but when it comes to after sales support, they are a dumpster fire. Magene is a big brand but their wholesale after sales support and warranty process is absolutely unforgivably shit. GC, dont plug magene. You'll lose every shred of credibility you have
Really? I have only seen good things but I only have small sample size of what it is. But from my experience is and talking with other reps they seem really good
@GCPerformance18 I can confirm. I had a warranty issue with magene and pandapodium. Magene didn't want to grant the warranty, even though I did everything to videorecord the issue with one of their powermeter cranksets. In the end, pandapodium refunded me out of their own pockets because Magene didn't cooperate. Joe personally apologized, because this whole dispute lasted for over 2 month and I had to make like 30 videos and magene still didn't believe it was a manufacturing issue. That's why I don't buy from them again
It shouldn’t always be about price even though it does help. Winspace Hypers/Farsports are a long term proven winner for their range & trusted .. IMO 👍
@@GCPerformance18 Price is below 1.000usd with code FAR-OFF-50. On their custom build site Wheelsfar, you have multiple options (rim finish, hubs,...). Yes you'll need to use rim tape with the tpu tube or else the tube will pop as it'll force it's way into the spoke holes
@@SuperDodoe That's what I thought but his comment about not using rim tape confused me. Still not sure what he's referring to.
Rim tape always, be it tubeless, latex, TPU or butyl
He mentioned spoke hole covers which are lighter but not recommended for tubeless use. Maybe that's what he was referring to?
@@redkeyspoke honestly you can use Stan Tube tape which is lile 5g per wheel. I can live with that hahaha

Do these come with ceramic or steel bearings? With an internal width on 23, would it be easier to mount road tires?

Would these wheels stay true with a 120kg rider?
these would be the best bet for that, I am 100kg and ride them no problem, just run a wider tire like a 30 and that should help with the weight
