@@avenger4027 I agree with XY needing a 3rd version. The games definitely felt incomplete. Other than that gen 6 was definitely when the games started to decline.
Pokémon White 2 was the first Pokémon game that I ever owned, I got it around the time it came out but when I first played it I didn't really read anything and I didn't know what I was doing causing me to dislike the game and never really touch it. A few months ago I played Shining Pearl for the first time after not touching Pokémon for a very long time and I enjoyed it a lot, this made me want to play more Pokémon games which made me then play shield, scarlet, and legends arceus which I all enjoyed playing a lot. After playing those games I decided I should go back to White 2 to see if I would actually enjoy it and I did, it was a very fun game and I ended up playing until I beat the Pokémon League and I'm really glad I went back to White 2 after all this time.
I think they are awesome games. The fact we can catch a riolu and eevee very early is amazing! I think it’s best feature is the tournament where you can fight gym leaders and champions from past games.
playing gen 5 for the first time currently. just finished the main story in white/white 2 after spending months resetting for a shiny tepig. i am incredibly bias due to my dope blue emboar but they’re probably my favorite pokemon games
Chuggaaconroy actually provided an analysis on the Challenge Mode of these games and concluded that the overall, the difficulty increase wasn't that high compared to the normal difficulty.
The problem with the hard mode is that raising enemy levels just causes you to level quicker. A "proper" hard mode might actually need to go the other route & level cap your Pokemon so that no member of your party can level beyond a certain threshold until certain points in the game.
I agree, my idea for hard mode is higher IV Pokémon, better trainer Ai, and more Pokemon per team. Something that makes each encounter more difficult as opposed to making the levels higher :D
BW and BW2 got me hooked back on pokemon after I had already left the franchise. After Emerald released, I checked out and wouldn't return until a decade later when I was on break from uni. HGSS eased me back into something familiar, and then BW2 blew my socks off. It isn't nostalgia for BW2 that makes me love it. Rather, BW2 uses my existing nostalgia for the previous games in the series to make me love it as my favorite. That's brilliant.
I played BW2 for the first time not too long ago and I really wished I played this one when it released because this was, is, and always will be PEAK perfection
Also I do wanna add that both B2 and W2 have some of the best rom hacks, especially with Blaze Black 2 Redux / Volt White 2 Redux. Easily some of the best pokemon roms hacks I’ve ever played, here’s a list of some of the things they add: -fairy typing is added -all 649 mons are able to be captured (pokemon that need trading or traded with held item are evolved with a new item and their respective item; ex. Golem, Alakazam, Gengar uses a Link Cable to evolve them, or Electivire uses the Electirizer to evolve.) -typing changes (ex. Emboar is Fire/Ground or Charizard is Fire/Dragon) and stats improved for a good amount of mons. Also some get new abilites. -some good additions into the main story and especially massive postgame content -access to difficulty keys right of the bat. -shiny are a bit more common and much more.
Still wished that Pokemon Black and Pokemon White games were released onto Nintendo Switch just like the remake of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shinning Pearl because I always to what the version would look like in the graphic designs of the characters and the scenery to be more like Pokemon Sword/Shield and Pokemon Scarlet/Violet games.
Black Tower is one of my favorite mechanics in a Pokemon game ever, describing it as like the Battle Frontier, when the Battle Trains exist, doesn’t do it justice. Loved having to find my way around, looking for healing and conserving my party. They need to bring it back and improve on it
I'm still waiting for Pokémon to come out with another game where you can visit another region. Pokémon GSC hold a special place in my heart as a kid and I'm just hoping they can recreate gold like that again.
I dont think they’re the very best pokemon games in the series but definitely top 6 or 7 without a doubt. MASSIVE improvement over the original Black and White 1. Seeing the pokemon world tournament return in a future game would be awesome
BW2 are easily my favorite games in the series. The style is sublime, the difficulty is perfect, and there’s so much content that it feels like it can last forever. Though one addition I think would have made it perfect in my eyes would be the addition of following Pokemon. That Mienfoo tease in Humiliau City is basically the original “The Battle Frontier project has started!”
Outside of emerald and hgss, black and white 2 are probably my favorite games in the series. I wasn’t a huge fan of unova in black and white, but unova in black and white 2 is one of my favorite regions in the series.
I think it’s one of the best but Heartgold and Soulsilver will always be the best games. Two regions, following pokemon, pokewalker, pokeathlon, so much content, I spent a ridiculous amount to get boxed copies of both games so I can play on my DSi XL and get all version exclusives. Black and White and their sequels will always be special to me as my first game, but even I have to admit nostalgia aside they aren’t number one in the series. Still, incredible games, and the last ones I fully enjoyed, Pokémon hasn’t been the same since the DS era
I don't speak from nostalgia because I beat Black 2 around 1 month ago. It is AWESOME!!! While storywise I liked the original BW a little more; BW2 overall has a little edge because of the Pokémon World Tournament.
Pokemon black and white you only see gen 5 pokemon until you beat the game which is great if you want to shiny hunt without getting pokemon from other gens like zubat, geodude that's one of the reasons I don't like hunting in diamond and pearl because you phase a lot on pokemon you already have.
Yes, but very overpraised and really expensive to get, (I own both versions) good but not masterpieces compared to smash 4, Mario galaxy, 3d land/world, dark moon, planet robobot, neither Pokemon game is a masterpiece for me at least
