Why can't every camera review be this cool? Absolutely phenomenal presentation Jared. A pleasure to watch real world reviews as opposed to lab results. Great thanks to you sir.
I have and highly recommend this camera for general photography and even video it can do 4k but I stick to 1080p for most video unless someone wants it in 4k but just for file size and battery life But this camera has it all and is pretty beginner friendly surprisingly enough a couple RUclips videos and you know enough to take beautiful pictures. This was my first camera as well so I can say first hand it's not hard to use. Gonna be a hell of a lot cheaper than the new sonys unless u really need the specs on those and are using it professionally I recommend stocking to this one:) great at night and micro photography aswell plus the flip screen makes it good for anyone wanting to do social media content
Connor Rawle Hey Connor, I love this little camera it is a brut. Took on vacations and you can actually enjoy vacation without the burden of a lot of equipment. I am looking at a used Cannon like yours because of the interchangeable lens for out to 300 mm. The more I watch the videos of landscape photography by some excellent professionals I get the idea I need to invest a lot more time on getting proficient with the DSLR. How do you love the Cannon ?
The quality of this video is excellent. Jared's passion for photography, Stevens amazing work with the camera and Tod's talent as director is just the right combination. Great work guys. Love it.
37 minutes of a review that every single one was worth watching, compared to shorter, 8-min reviews that you get bored during the first minute of watching. Great work, Jared, really enjoyed this show. I'm expecting delivery of my RX100 IV in the next days, and your review proved I made the right choice.
I've been watching this channel for years without commenting, but this review shall break my silence. Absolutely great! Production quality, humor, great information, this was a joy to watch :)
Enjoying your recent videos a lot more than when you’re stuck in the studio having ‘man talk’ which I find very boring. These new style videos are refreshing, interesting and shot beautifully. Thank you
It's awesome to watch this video in 2023!!! I bought an a7iv when it first came out and it's so awesome to see the customizable buttons, wifi connection, controlling the camera from your phone...and so many other features that were really "unique" about the a7iv. I love the a7iv and I'm excited to have this as a second camera to take everywhere and not having $3,000 strapped to me
Fro this was a fantastic review. Getting out there and really seeing how you use the camera is great, and I think is definitely the way we'd like to see you do review in the future. Great work and a great job from Steven too. Cheers, Chris
I am a long time viewer up here in the great white North Toronto Ontario Canada I find all of your videos to be educational, entertaining, and very professional This review is absolutely amazing and really takes you up a level. The actual review of the camera was excellent and your footage of New York was just spectacular. I find your delivery in this video to be top notch! Keep up the great work
If you shot someone on a small camera that someone might think that you are a perv and you made this photo for your personal pervish collection but if you use DSLR he might think that you are an artist =)))
Jared Polin .... man you know your stuff ,this is probably the best ever review i've ever watched ....period !!!! . I soooooo want to out and buy this little gem of a camera . Amazing how Sony jam so many features into such a small package . Good job ....
I love the quality of the video coming from the XC10 - I came here because of your review - I can see why Stephen really likes it and seeing that its so small with such a massive codec, I am sold.
superb review! this is probably the best camera review I have ever seen actually. thanks for all the work you put into making this! a lot of people these days are looking to have dslr functionality in a pocket size camera and this one is certainly a great option. I havent gotten quite this small yet, my current camera is the Sony RX10, after having owned 3 dslr's previously. got sick of carrying a camera bag and changing lenses all the time.
+Jared Polin Hey Jared i love you so much and im new to photography. i was wondering if you would let me link a page to my twitter to hopefully get a little more traffic to my page, thankyou :)
How you 'articulate' things and reviewing this camera is very smooth! No choppy things, really focused on one thing, and you can combine small things that matter in the things you focused! Subscribed and keep up the good work!
1st video of yours that I watched. This review is so comprehensive, really impressed! What really blew my mind is that I know one of the street performance spectators.
about the battery, ive seen people using a small external battery to recharge internal using the usb slot, which means you don't have to remove the internal battery and swap in a new one
+Dave Birney I've done that. A lithium battery and a USB cord and you're good all day (If you need to be shooting all day). It's also just a good backup. The camera charges pretty fast using that trick too, so you can top off the camera while you duck into have coffee somewhere, or charge it in the car like a cell phone.
+Peter Duke thanks for the idea! was about to purchase an rx100 m4 with a spare battery but spending that money on a usb battery pack instead seems like a more flexible and value for money option
I really saw how passionate you are in this review without you realizing it man. Entertaining. Informative. To be honest, this will be one the best reviews I've watched. I don't have a camera, but I think I would buy this for my first. Thanks man!
Honestly, this is a great review, but theres almost nothing about ISO performance. I saw one photo with 4k ISO and its pretty darn good, I think this is the camera that I want to buy for my girlfriend. I was thinking about a6000 but after this review and knowing that she takes photos in manual (after some coaching haha) I'm really impressed with that product. Great work.
I love the way you reviewed this camera, the enthusiasm is very high. You really help me decide what camera should I buy. Keep up the good reviews. I think you're one of the best reviewer that I've watched so far.
I think this is the best review of any camera ever made, Jared, it's nice how you talk to people and ask them nicely for photos and videos, that's a gift for a street photographer. Keep up with this kind of videos!! Just a recommendation from a Sony user: Use the panorama vertically on horizontal shots, it's WAY better ;)
Thanks for sharing Jared. I have watched this twice now as I'm confused between this and Canon G7x M2. What you would recommend for someone who just needs a single point and shoot camera for pictures and video?
Hey Ryan same here man. I have spent countless hours reading reviews & watching videos of all these cams including LX10, LX100, etc. LX10 might not be in India for months so not an option for me. Besides except for not so good Image stabilization as Canon G7x m2, I think Sony Rx100 M4 offers lot more manual controls which other similar cam's do not. I saw someone capture excellent time lapses & star trails with it.
Haha yup!. I'll be getting it. There seems no other option. It's still not available in India but they said 28th Oct so hoping to grab it before I leave for my trip.
Hello, so Ive always been interested into photography of landscapes and whatnot. Ive never actually owned a camera, so I was wondering if this is a good camera to start out with? If anyone owns this camera id love to know how good the image quality is. Thanks
Jared I stumbled across your channel because I'm buying a Sony RX100 IV camera. This is an unbelievable channel, what a great job you did on the review on the Sony RX100 once again great job!!!
Would it not been better that you could see everything and get everything in the frame? It can never be a positive thing to not see all the edges of a photo.
Jared Polin True that! However in a review I rather have some one say "this thing does not have 100% viewfinder" rather then "i got happy that i got this shot because it fitted in the frame because i get more then i see".
+Magnus Claesson It can, because sometimes you're just too focussed on the action. Setting up a landscape pic then thats different, you've got all the time in the world to compose. :)
While it is pretty much one of the best point and shoot cameras available, it has a horrible price point that makes it a bad choice at nearly $1000. It is nearly $650 more than a Nikon D5300 (body only), You can literally buy a Nikon D5300 body, and a Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG HSM for close to the same price as the RX100 IV. Sony needs to reduce the price of the RX100 IV to about $300
+Razor2048 Yeah, except that my dslr sits in its bag all the time because I have gotten tired of dragging it around everywhere. Most of the time I think I should bring my camera along, then change my mind because it is to cumbersome. I think an rx100 is in my future. Sure, my current setup is technically superior, but the rx100 will get used 1000 times more. Maybe you don't mind lugging around a DSLR. There is nothing wrong with that. The rx100 isn't for you. But it is for me. My current camera will be up for sale very very soon. Sony has a market. Sure, it is expensive, but there is nothing (short of maybe the g7x) that can compete with the Sony if you are trying to replace a dslr.
+Razor2048 consider the ziess glass that comes with this thing too at f1.8. Check those lenses out by itself without a body then you would probably think this thing is super cheap lol.
You get different cameras for different conditions. This camera is a great buy to be on you all the time. The DSLR when you want more control, better quality and use better glass with different focal ranges. I agree that is overprice for a point and shoot but not that much if you consider that have a lot of DSLR controls and the 4k video and you cans have it in your pocket.
+Frank Neulichedl Zeiss lenses at F4 is still a little over $1000 + all the pro features that comes with this body. I can see it though for a point and shoot it is a lot of money but you get pro features out of it. It's not for everyone.
One of the best videos I've seen on the RX100 M4. Informative, intelligent and non babbling. Thank you. The only thing I wondered about was why you didn't take the panoramas with the camera held in portrait mode rather than landscape. You should get more Y axis real estate that way. As a recent owner of the RX100 M4 I know this can be done by pressing the circular button while in Pano mode. Keep up the good work. This was well made review of a great little camera.
I've watched many may photo reviews, but this is my first time watching your reviews, and I appreciate all that you've packed into this video, full of good info and examples and you take pretty good shots! Thank you.
+RonaldReaganRocks1 YEs...I can really recommend ( if you are in to Video) to get the GitUp Git 2 or Hawkeye Firefly 6S 4K over the Xiaomi Yi /SCJAM Sj5000/Gro Pro models , if you want value for you money . im really happy with my new GitUp Git 2 video quality !! www.banggood.com/Wholesale-Sport-Camera-c-3250.html?p=J031143423240201512X
GREETINGS FROM THE FUTURE! I've just bought a USED Mark 4. Regarding shooting video: Even now... 4 1/2 years later... 4K is NOT very important. Plenty of video comparisons of 1080p compared to 4K and there are VERY FEW situations where viewers can see a difference and definitely not in the average youtube video. STILL very few people have 4K screens and even on those the human eye does easily see a difference. So... it's still 1080p for me. HECK... even 720p is pretty good.
The best review of the RX100 M4 I've seen. Much more interesting and useful than a table top review, or worse an unboxing. A couple features I would have liked your opinion on is: 1) AF capability: focus acquisition and tracking; and the Eye AF feature. This camera has a sophisticated AF system and I wonder I well it works for you in real life. 2) How well does the D-Range Optimization feature work?
Thank you Jared. This review is probably the best review of the Sony Rx100 IV on the web. Great quality and great images too especially the black and white. You rocks man!
Jared, this was the best review/video you've ever done. I watched every single second. I've been keeping up with your content for a couple years now. I use the Nikon D5500 and the Canon G7X for my personal and business life. I mostly use these 2 cameras for shooting videos on my RUclips channel talking about health topics, but this inspired me to shoot more for fun!! Would love to have you on the podcast to talk about photography but your journey into weightlifting too. I think a lot of people would enjoy it.
Best review ever from Froknowsphoto so far. I was about to make the purchase on Rx100 Mk4. It answered all of my questions perfectly. The loft review and camera shop review were good but not great but i want to see more of these.
Jared, thank you for the in depth review! This is one of your better videos I have watched and by far the best coverage of this camera then any other RUclipsr I have seen so far. I enjoyed that you are not condescending like most of the others who review "pricey" camera's and act like they are better then the rest of the population.
I have this camera and just came across your review today. The review is awesome. You showed me quite a few things that I did not know about the camera even though I have been using it for 2+years. Thanks Jared!!!
Hey other Jared. This is my favorite video of yours. I didn't want this camera at all before watching it, but now I want it to carry with it as I work my paying job in the streets of DC. My phone doesn't cut it. and I really do need something pocket sized for certain street photography situations.
I hope I'm not wasting everyone's time as this is an old review. But, a couple of days ago my spouse found this camera that had been lost in our house since 2017! I've been having a ball with this camera, even though I know it has been supplanted by newer models. Also, on Panoramic you say just pan on one axis? Meaning turn the camera 180" as if it was on a tripod? It is still an amazingly feature rich camera!
Pretty good review, I brought this camera about 3 months ago and im starting to get the hang of it. I typically use camcorder and DSLR but I wanted to add a point in shoot to my collection and im happy I got this. Im also happy that you approve of this camera! Good work man!
This was a great video. To give you an idea of how good this video is, I just spent 37 minutes watching the whole thing, you pulled me in and kept my attention. I have the RX100m2 right now and love it. I don't even want the mark 4, I accidentally clicked on this. I am interested in the mark 5 or the RX10m3 to compliment my RX100m2. I'm subscribing, if you continue the passion you have in your other reviews, I will have found another great source on RUclips. Thanks.
Hi Jared, awsome review. I spent 6 month last year in Edgewater, and I went to New York so many times. I really like your views of everything. I just bought the reviewed camera today. I might not be the latest model anymore, but the cam goes for 800 USD now and I thought it's really worth it. Thanks again for the review Joerg
I currently own & enjoy shooting my Sony a6000 and like this particular product, the jpegs you get out of these cameras are crazy good! The detail in those panoramas came through RUclips looking fantastic!!!
Awesome review. Probably the best review I have seen on RUclips. Even your photos and videos are very professional with this P&S Any chance to get an update with the RX100 V ?
Awesome video even in 2024. I got this one used for when I study abroad. I wish you included the settings you used for those images because I’m still trying to get them dialed in for different scenarios which comes with practice but seeing what others do in different situations helps me for a good starting point
I forgot to mention that your production quality is really getting so much better. Definitely looks like you couldve gotten an episode for your new show with this trip. $950 seems to be a lot for a point and shoot. Was curious to see if the mk4 was any better than the mk3.
You just sold me this camera
i dont care
Aletheia Veritas This comment is everywhere lol
Watching this video now makes me totally want this camera.

This may be my favorite of your real world reviews.
+DamienMasterson I think it may be because I'm dreaming of visiting New York.
Same.
I switched from a big Canon 5D Mark 2 to this camera and haven't looked back once. Such a powerful camera in such a small body.
Connor Rawle
Hey Connor,
I love this little camera it is a brut. Took on vacations and you can actually enjoy vacation without the burden of a lot of equipment. I am looking at a used Cannon like yours because of the interchangeable lens for out to 300 mm. Hello 👋
The quality of this video is excellent. Jared's passion for photography, Stevens amazing work with the camera and Tod's talent as director is just the right combination. Great work guys. Love it.
+gasho s thank you, it's greatly appreciated.

Great work, Jared, really enjoyed this show. I'm expecting delivery of my RX100 IV in the next days, and your review proved I made the right choice.
the editing to this video is amazing. who ever edited it is awesome

Dude! You've just sold me a Sony RX100 IV (if I have enough money of course), best & most interesting real world cam review ever!
I've been watching this channel for years without commenting, but this review shall break my silence. Absolutely great! Production quality, humor, great information, this was a joy to watch :)
+Christer Johnsrud thank you for watching for so long!!!
Enjoying your recent videos a lot more than when you’re stuck in the studio having ‘man talk’ which I find very boring. These new style videos are refreshing, interesting and shot beautifully. Thank you

Jared, I'm not usually a fan of your videos but this was really good man. Awesome job. Great pics. Great overview of cameras features. Thanks!
I've had this camera since August and learned more about my camera from THIS VIDEO than I have from the 25+ other videos I've watched. Thanks dude!
Really digging these style videos man!
When you see Chase on a camera channel because he likes cameras more than bikes
My favorite part of this camera is that is fits in your pocket!
Fro this was a fantastic review. Getting out there and really seeing how you use the camera is great, and I think is definitely the way we'd like to see you do review in the future. Great work and a great job from Steven too.
Cheers,

+Chris Winter thanks, it's how others should try to do reviews as well.
Hello
Hello 👋
Jared - this may be your best video in 2+ years. This is at the same level as the story about your mom, but maybe even better. Thank you for this.
+NoSpam Elf thank you.
This is the best example of how a camera review must be done. Good job Jared!
+Fare thank you.
I am a long time viewer up here in the great white North Toronto Ontario Canada
I find all of your videos to be educational, entertaining, and very professional
This review is absolutely amazing and really takes you up a level.
The actual review of the camera was excellent and your footage of New York was just spectacular.
I find your delivery in this video to be top notch!
Keep up the great work
Jared, do you find that people treat you differently when you have a tiny camera vs when you have a DSLR or a more professional-looking camera?
I think it is less off-putting when you have a small camera. But I also think the key point is the confidence and approach from the photographer.
If you shot someone on a small camera that someone might think that you are a perv and you made this photo for your personal pervish collection but if you use DSLR he might think that you are an artist =)))
Actually, they would probably think you're a tourist with a small camera, or a perv with a large camera...
Man your Real World Reviews are my favorite of all your videos!!!
Jared Polin .... man you know your stuff ,this is probably the best ever review i've ever watched ....period !!!! . I soooooo want to out and buy this little gem of a camera . Amazing how Sony jam so many features into such a small package .
Good job ....
This guy is legit. He goes in-depth with his reviews while making it entertaining.
Awesome review for Sony RX100 camera
Am heading to buy first camera of my life and I think I will buy his one
It’s really look powerful
Probably the best review I've ever seen! You've sold me on this unit - can't wait to start using it.
what camera do you think its better the sony a5100 or the Sony RX100 IV ?
I love the quality of the video coming from the XC10 - I came here because of your review - I can see why Stephen really likes it and seeing that its so small with such a massive codec, I am sold.
superb review! this is probably the best camera review I have ever seen actually. thanks for all the work you put into making this!

I want to see Jared meets Casey it will be great
Omg same good to see some casey fans here

This is one of the BEST real world camera reviews I have ever seen! Awesome job!!!

awesome review!
+Rod Faircloth awesome, thank you!!!
+Jared Polin Agreed, it's like old school Fro vids but more polished :)
+Jared Polin Hey Jared i love you so much and im new to photography. i was wondering if you would let me link a page to my twitter to hopefully get a little more traffic to my page, thankyou :)
+Vanessa Taylor thanks.
The editing of this review is awesome! Jared, your high energy in this video is great! Hugs from Brazil
Hey !!! Jared Polin are you gonna do Sony RX100 Mark 5 Real World Review ?
How you 'articulate' things and reviewing this camera is very smooth! No choppy things, really focused on one thing, and you can combine small things that matter in the things you focused! Subscribed and keep up the good work!
Fro finally a real world review of a camera most of us can afford, I now this a lot of work, but i would love to see more reviews like this.
It is a lot of work and there are so many cameras people would like reviews of.
1st video of yours that I watched. This review is so comprehensive, really impressed! What really blew my mind is that I know one of the street performance spectators.

Sony is leading with features like these. The A6000 and the A7 series have similar features in APS-C and Full Frame sensors
+Alan Morris they are doing a nice job.
Easily one of your best reviews. Nice work Jared! Thank you.
Honestly, this is a great review, but theres almost nothing about ISO performance. Well, the iOS won't match a dslr of course but oh can't compare both.
Hello
I like the fact that you show the bad pictures along with the good ones, this shows the real capabilities of the camera.
Great review.
Awesome review; certainly looking forward to getting my hands on one.
+Mrgunsngear Channel just as cheap as a Nikon D7200 with a 18-105mm here in denmark!
+Mrgunsngear Channel thank you and NICE!!!
I love the way you reviewed this camera, the enthusiasm is very high. You really help me decide what camera should I buy. Keep up the good reviews. I think you're one of the best reviewer that I've watched so far.

Can you do the rewiew for Canon G5X ? and maybe compare to sony rx100 IV?
Really like that "Party Rockin'" video you did.

how does it stack up against the g7x mark 2?
EVERY CAMERA REVIEW SHOULD BE AS EXCITING AND AWESOME AS YOURS.
How is a less then 100% viewfinder something that "helped me in a situation like this"? It sounds really biased to say something like that.
Because I didn't think I was going to get everything in the frame but I did.
Would it not been better that you could see everything and get everything in the frame? It can never be a positive thing to not see all the edges of a photo.
It is what it is. I prefer being able to see 100% but in this type of camera I can deal with it.

a standard review that doesn't really show how it's going to perform when you get it, just specifically for those shots
This was well made review of a great little camera.
kickstarter campaign for a haircut?
I've watched many may photo reviews, but this is my first time watching your reviews, and I appreciate all that you've packed into this video, full of good info and examples and you take pretty good shots! Thank you.
Sony is way better than Canon and Nikon these days.
RonaldReaganRocks1 i agree with you
GREETINGS FROM THE FUTURE!
I need this camera for free
RGH drizzle Check out the sony A6000.
I own several cameras. Just picked up one of these in 2024 because I always want to have a decent camera on me at all times. Small and powerful 👏🏽👏🏽
Have to say that's the least annoying you've been in years, more like this please 😉
+Keith O'Keeffe um cool. Back handed compliments are amazing.
You're welcome young man 😇
The best review of the RX100 M4 I've seen. Much more interesting and useful than a table top review, or worse an unboxing. A couple features I would have liked your opinion on is:
1) AF capability: focus acquisition and tracking; and the Eye AF feature. This camera has a sophisticated AF system and I wonder I well it works for you in real life.
2) How well does the D-Range Optimization feature work?
SQUIRREL!! LOL!
+Evan Brand thank you.
This review feels like it should be on tv with this much production! Great job
please Jared, we want more real world reviews. This is one of the best formats on youtube. This format is unique :)
c ya
+Can't Land Q I want more as well.
+Jared Polin Then go out on the street and take some photos with the sony dsc rx1r II
Best review ever from Froknowsphoto so far. I was about to make the purchase on Rx100 Mk4. It answered all of my questions perfectly. The loft review and camera shop review were good but not great but i want to see more of these.
Nice, so glad to hear.
This is the 1st best video I've seen for this camera! I love it thanks for the content. Always a pleasure.
Hey other Jared. This is my favorite video of yours. I didn't want this camera at all before watching it, but now I want it to carry with it as I work my paying job in the streets of DC. My phone doesn't cut it. and I really do need something pocket sized for certain street photography situations.
By far the best review I've watched of this camera.
One of your best videos, really great and Sony owes you bucks for highlighting what a little pocket camera can do.
OUTSTANDING REVIEW! I have the RX100III that I don't really use often but, you have inspired me to use it more often and strive for better results!
This is the best real-world review I've seen. You helped me make the decision between the RX100 IV and the a6300.
one the best videos ever of a camera review 100x times better then digital rev
Thanks again for the review
Joerg
Super comprehensive real world review, thank you. You are so enthusiastic about it I am buying one for my holidays tomorrow
This is one of your best videos to date. Thanks Jared.
I currently own & enjoy shooting my Sony a6000 and like this particular product, the jpegs you get out of these cameras are crazy good! The detail in those panoramas came through RUclips looking fantastic!!!
Awesome review.
Probably the best review I have seen on RUclips.
Even your photos and videos are very professional with this P&S
Any chance to get an update with the RX100 V ?
I tested the Sony RX100- Mark I and quality was amazing, I shoot some concerts in LA and I was surprised by the RAW image detail and sharp focus.
Awesome video even in 2024. I got this one used for when I study abroad. I wish you included the settings you used for those images because I’m still trying to get them dialed in for different scenarios which comes with practice but seeing what others do in different situations helps me for a good starting point
Hey Jared, your video is getting better and better, keep up the great work!
Love the B&W photos taken with your RX100 IV. Are they right out of the camera or did you post process them. Really nice work.
I forgot to mention that your production quality is really getting so much better. Definitely looks like you couldve gotten an episode for your new show with this trip. $950 seems to be a lot for a point and shoot. Was curious to see if the mk4 was any better than the mk3.
+Keumku Sou You're paying for features and if this fits into someones price range I think it's perfectly acceptable.
