Frontier really need to give some love to the Alliance. No ships, no ranks and no Galnet stories makes it really hard for any new commanders to want to join the Alliance. They simply see no incentive. This video alone has done WAY more for the Alliance than what Frontier have provided in-game.
If the Alliance had ranks and ships I would totally side with them, since I don't like the Monarchy of the Imperials and the total control of the Federation. Being able to work and progress with the Alliance would be a great addition.

Wow. Just started playing Elite: Dangerous a few days ago, sided with the Federation (couldn't seem to get out of their territory at first because I kept running into giant clusters of brown dwarfs and white dwarfs somehow with a few red/yellow stars scattered that I could scoop from), just today ended up in neutral space with operations by the Alliance to claim it (which obviously I got the hostile thing appearing when I came out of hyperspace). Thank god for getting the Cobra MKIII and it's 8 tons of fuel and enough space for 18 tons of cargo by default I guess :P
I think the alliance is going to be my main faction because it doesn’t have any ships yet which might mean it might be getting new ships. I’m hoping they have thargoid technology.

From my understanding, they're a hyper democracy with hyper freedom with all the weaknesses of democracy and too much "freedom". They're so "free" and "democratic" that they let their member colonies do whatever they want. So the alliance is made up of dictatorships and slavers just as much as free societies.

My problem with the alliance is that they let tyrants and dictators under their umbrella, because they're "the anarchy faction" so you can be any government type you want under the alliance. The Federation is at least supposed to operate on the American constitution.
I’m curious if the thargoids we See today remember the alliance and the peace treaty left with them? It seems to me they are only attacking empire and federation ships and systems. Is this an accurate statement at all?
haven't seen alliance chieftains with acid strikes on them yet. My guess is the alliance is trying to stay away from Guardian tech and Thargoid tech that's why they're not getting attacked.

I feel like the Alliance is going to build to enormous heights in the near future. The arrival of the Chieftan and the Thargoid interactions seem to point to the Alliance becoming a superpower in action as well as name.

Hey Ant, do you know if there is a way that you can export the English captions file (including time stamps) so I can edit it and translate to Spanish, then send back to you so you can upload it to the subtitles list of the vid? Or export the automatic Spanish translation caption file so I can edit it for proper language? I d love to translate in subtitles your lore series videos for the Spanish Community.
I'm not loyal to any faction. I'm loyal to Aisling. But the Alliance are my type of people. They're just like leave us alone and let us do our thing. Good ole freedom. And now that they helped out Lakon I like them even more. Thinking about moving my home port to Alioth.
Really wish i had a concrete reason to join the Alliance. They seem to have moral high ground over both the Federation and the Empire, but they have almost no other incentives. This lack of choice forced me and my friend to pick between two evils. I figured, if we're gonna be the bad guys, lets at least pick the side that doesn't hide it. She just liked how the Empires exclusive ships looked, so we came to an agreement to join it. Really wish the Alliance had a reason, any at all would do, but oh well...

I was a Federation member for a long time, was with them long enough to get a corvette then go rogue and join the alliance

The only problem with the alliance is their lack of unique ships. Otherwise they would be just as popular as the rest
