Don’t know why I watch work when I’m not working, but it’s somehow satisfying. As usual, it makes me want to up my game. Great work, making it look easy.

A voice over with what you’re doing would have been very helpful. Such as how you started your 1st row against a straight edge, why you didn’t use spacers with the last rows, etc..

Bent over all day makes it hard to stand up and my belly is also starting to hang down. I tried the left hand knuckle stance verses my very sore fingers and wrist but now my knuckles are swollen up and my hand looks like what I imagine a fighters hand looks like! It reminds me of when my mom would allogroom ape like bug picking over my dad.❤

I’ve done tiling in my home, but I could never achieve the quality or craftsmanship that you possess. I wind up with more mastic on me then on the floor.

Thanks for a great video Sal. Your videos are giving me the confidence to choose the correct products and execute a clean job. Is that ceramic tile or porcelain? I'm about to diy my first bath floor using same size tile, just porcelain over ditra. Should I use a wet saw for the porcelain cutting? Did you lay out all the tile ahead for fitting so as to have all the pieces ready to go on tile day? My concern is how to lay the tile so as to not have odd sized tile in middle of room.

How did you start or plan the layout with hexagon tiles? What is the smallest cut recommended?

You do make this look so easy.and it’s absolutely beautiful. I have a couple of questions. I just finished a hexagon floor, and it turned into a nightmare with me, unable to keep the proper width on all six sides. Did you do anything Special to figure out your starting point? Are you using a special tool to wipe the floor that has a handle versus a sponge?

for someone doing a diy you would use spacers like hes using those plastic shoe spacers just leave them in hes taking them out as he goes. the layout you simply lay some tiles out on the floor if you cant measure it. and you could use a dry rag to try and clean up as you go but a sponge is the best.

i hate using hexagonal tiles and I will turn down any future work or make the customer sign a release of liability, IF a customer selects them. WHY you may ask?? They rarely have a beveled edge. I have been tiling for decades. To try to keep things as flat and level as possible We used a grout float to try to keep them level to each other all throughout the process. Then grouted after set.
Afterwards my customer walked on them with bare feet noticing that there as 1/32nd inch of lippage. She wanted us to do something about it. I explained to her, by showing we were only 1/32nd off (using a 1/16th inch spacer where it was 1/2 the width or less) and it is impossible to get them any flatter. She was feeling the minor lippage because the tile edges are sharp rather than beveled. Then she wouldn't pay me for the job and it wasn't worth hiring a lawyer and taking them to court over it. All because the manufacturers can't bevel the edges on the freaking tile. Hexagonal tiles are garbage
