This is really a great video! Love the every day novice aspect to it. One thing I always do when working under my vehicles is, I put my wheels under the vehicle just in case the jack stands fail. Knew a guy that died when his jack stand failed/ slipped.
Nice job. It looks like you put in a different track bar than the factory one. I dont see one that comes with the kit either. Just winding if it’s necessary to have a new one or if the factory one can be used.
Glad the video was helpful! I couldnt't get it to fit back on correctly because the new control arms are beefier, so I just gave up and tossed the shields.
I’m getting ready to embark on installing the AEV RT 2.5 in. lift on my EcoDiesel JT. Any tips or advice you care to offer before my journey begins? I’m nervous about fighting to remove the OEM upper control arm bolt. The instructions mention rotating the axle forward is the bolt is removed in order to angle it away from the exhaust. It also mentions lowering the exhaust too. Besides that step everything else seems pretty straight forward. BTW, are you in the Air Force and if so what is your AFSC?
That bolt is tricky for sure. I ended up using a large screwdriver as a punch and knocking it out the backside with a hammer. I’m sure it scraped some shielding a bit but it worked for me. Sadly I was not in the Air Force, but thank you for serving!
Mad respect. I love these raw videos. Thank you so much for bringing us along!
You're welcome! It was quite the adventure tacking this on the floor of my garage, but I'm glad I did it myself.

Thanks! And I try to remember to do that with my wheels too. Sometimes I remember, sometimes I don't, but it's a great tip!

You can totally use the factory track bar. Clayton had theirs on sale when I was purchasing the parts for my lift so I just went for it.
Awesome thanks
I've watched your install videos a few times, thanks.
Finished my install today, did you ever put the aluminum shield back in?
