Guys, despite the cute music, the reality is that the situation you described is not a game or a harmless interaction between two animals. It is a dangerous and potentially deadly situation for the husky. Polar bears are powerful predators and can easily cause serious injury or death to a chained husky or other animal. It is never appropriate to chain a dog or other pet in an area where it is at risk of being attacked by a wild animal. This may include using bear-proof fencing or enclosures, carrying bear spray, and being aware of your surroundings at all times. It is also important to remember that wild animals, including polar bears, should be respected and treated with care, and it is never appropriate to harass or harm them. While this video may seem adorable, if you use Google, you'll see hundreds of images of wild polar bears brutally murdering chained huskies. These kinds of incidents can be prevented by not allowing dogs to be left outside unattended in areas where they are at risk of being attacked by wild animals. It is also important to be aware of the risks posed by wild animals in your area, and to take appropriate precautions to protect yourself, your pets, and the animals. It is never appropriate to intentionally put any animal in harm's way, and it is important to treat all animals, including wild animals, with care and respect.
No less than every single sound the dogs make is a textbook dog sound of fear and concern, and these are large husky / malamutes. The dogs are chained to the ground in the open in a frozen coastal environment with wild polar bears. The guy who owns the dogs is Brian Ladoon. Several people and organizations claim that he uses the dogs as bait to get bears to come to his property and then he charges tourists for bear watching. Feeding the bears is illegal but as a dog breeder Ladoon can chain the dogs up in the open and feed them and if bears wander in and eat the food, which they do, he isn't legally liable. He does have dogs killed by the bears and if I remember correctly one of the dogs that were in the "frolicking" video was killed by a bear eventually that day. Ladoon claims that he is just a breeder and that he can't help it if the bears happen to wander in and eat excess food that is left out for the dogs and that it isn't his fault if some of the dogs are killed and eaten by bears.
Polar bears are the most vicious and aggressive of bears. Mainly due to the enviroment they live in. Food is scarce and everything that can be consumed will be.
A statement of facts is usually followed up by a link to prove the statement... Not 'assholes', Leonardo. If there is any 'asshole' here to refer to, it is in my opinion the guy in the video disrupting a natural habitiat by feeding the polar bears. He even got one of his dogs killed and eaten. You know what happened next? Both mother and cubs are torn out of their habitat because the behavior of the bears was becoming a concern due to the feeding...
+Sweederland Johnson Have you ever heard about bear lovers? Not all are freaking out on the perspective of being f*ed by a bear, especially if that's an alternative for being eaten, LOL.
These dogs are chained and are vulnerable to being attacked and killed by the bears. In fact, many are! Something that is seldom mentioned in the videos, photos and stories of 'polar bears and dogs playing'. In this video, the last scenes show a frightened dog and an increasingly aggressive bear and I find it hard to understand some of these comments that display warm and fuzzy emotions - are people just seeing what they want to see?
I didn't realise you graduated with an animal psychology degree... please tell more of your vast knowledge! Are you a dog whisperer? Did they show you where the polar bears touched them with a doll?
I agree.....I was getting afraid for that wolf being trapped in his arms. The little play started to get more rough and agressive and the dog was starting to feel uncomfortable and clearly wanted to get out of there. That was upsetting for me. These are wild animals and you never know what they gonna do next. Play can change into something else quickly. These dogs are chained....they don't stand a chance if some bear gets it into his head to attack.
While a few moments of this video were kind of cute (when the bear was on his back and the dog was licking him), the end of that video was VERY disturbing. That poor dog was afraid and trying to get away.

*Cute as these scenes might seem, clearly a lot of people here haven't caught up with the back story to these cute and cuddly videos. On several occasions since this film was made, after **_'playing and wrestling'_** with Brian's rescue dogs, the polar bears went on to eat some of them alive. Due to it being illegal to kill or harm polar bears in the wild in Manitoba and elsewhere, Birdbrained Brian was initially cautioned by local police against keeping the dogs chained up like this.* *After another couple of dogs were eaten, the police had no choice but to arrest BB (Birdbrained Brian), and he was charged with gross animal cruelty. Thankfully, BB is no longer allowed to **_'rescue'_** retired huskies... thank God!*
That white dog is clearly horrified. I read 'if you want a guard dog dont chain them up cause they wont bark bc they know theyre vulnerable.' Someone posted the article below and from research it seem to be correct. That white dog isnt barking and it already is pulling the chain tight so it cant get away when it is clearly trying to. Even not knowing one was killed you can CLEARLY see something is wrong here. Anyone know which dog was killed? I heard it was not the white one or that bear and was surprised.
RUclips is deleting comments lmao. The owner is clearly torturing those poor dogs and using them as food or the bears. I can't believe people are treating this like it's some joke. I'm reading all these comments and am beyond disgusted.
Although it looks cute, only reason the dogs are not eaten because the guy feeds the bears and keep them full. One day he forgot to feed the bears and they ate one of the dogs. He was feeding bears all along and charge fees to show it to tourists. This is really dangerous for these endangered bears because they will approach establishments thinking they will get food and will get shot by scared people.
AAD YOUR A LIAR. NONE OF THE DOGS WERE EVER EATEN. WHEN PEOPLE LIKE YOU, MAKE THINGS UP JUST TO TROLL A VIDEO. ITS PATHETIC. DON'T BELIEVE THIS IDIOT, PEOPLE. WHAT YOU GONNA DO NOW? BECAUSE YOU BEEN CALLED OUT ON YOUR BS.

the colon after the words 'Polar Bear" indicate that it is a line of speech being figuratively spoken by the polar bear. The [character name:] format is frequently used in stage and screenplays to denote a line spoken by a character, as opposed to the quotation marks around speech as used in books and print media. As an aside, I, and most other people are well aware that the polar bear is a non-sapient creature both mentally and physically incapable of mimicking human speech patterns. Nor has any Polar Bear ever displayed the cognitive ability to formulate a thought and/or request such as this one, let alone be aware of or understand the word 'Human". But to answer your question: Yes, I didn't think you knew I was human.
AEigner You got me, with your vast vocabulary and articulate writing style you've managed to convince other people on youtube of how sound your argument is, even though they likely have no idea what you are talking about. I own a dictionary as well. It would've been far more conventional to use quotation marks rather than saying that the name of the character was Polar Bear. It's not a big deal, you just became so much more defensive than you needed to be. Sorry if I touched a nerve somehow.
Defensive? No. I was just making fun of you. Meant to be taken in the spirit of a gentle, profanity-free rib-poking. I do hope the nerve I touched on your end that brought you back to this comment after two months with your dictionary in hand wasn't too raw. Passive aggression is transparent.
this dude sells tickets to people to see bears on his property he loses 20 dogs every year to bears, not because bears wanted to eat the dogs of course, he kept plenty food around for the bears and the dogs, but because dogs were threat to the bears (especially cubs) that came to feed. That's also why he chained the dogs up.
Though I've not looked it up or anything I kinda am opting to believe you here.... Because when I was watching something really seemed off about how the dogs were chained. If he was worried about the dogs he wouldn't have them chained because if the polar bears get pissed off or something the dogs can't escape and clearly wouldn't be a match to fight.
No, I googled it. They're most certainly not friends. They're just not cutthroat towards each other. Many many many dogs die by both accidental kills and full attacks by the bears. The bears don't usually mean to kill the dogs but a single swipe can crush bones on a dog. The man who does this is an animal abusing monster but he gets away because the law enforcement turns the other cheek.
what I find really creepy is that those poor dogs are tied up , they can't run away from these bears , and the reason those bears don't eat the dogs is because the guy feeds the bears with other meats , like seal or whatever , so that the bears will leave the dogs alone ,, there is no true friendship here ,, if the bears where hunger they would eat the dogs ,
when theres hugner, theres hunger, and you cant blame them for that. But its wild life... that is true friendship if you want to call it that, the bears woulnt be there if they werent interested in something, and since its not meat, then its have "social contact" with other animal without harm, if those bears wanted to harm the dogs, they would do, period. Also, the dogs seem quite used to it, meaning this is not the first time. Again, it's wild life and as the person says things are unpredictable. But well, theres a reason why those dogs are chained (I dont quite like it either) but it seems thats how things work there, and by the looks of it, it's not that bad

In the video the guy says the polar bears are "quite gentle as a rule" after talking about shooting special ammo at the bears to keep them away from him.
What I'm trying to say is this isn't even accidentally cruel. This guy is a lying sadist who is chaining up dogs to be slaughtered by wild bears.

The bears & dogs became so friendly, until one day when there was no food around & the bears remembered their friends the dogs would help! So the bears visited their doggo friends, & when they came running up to them, the bears ate them
The. End

Yeah, I noticed that spine crushing hold it had for a while. It seemed to be trying to make up it's mind whether to just go crunch, dead dog or not.
Weird, wonderful and beautiful.
They are like babies to them
The guy who owns the dogs is Brian Ladoon.
The bears take this as a backup food source. If things go really bad, they know where the food is.
They actually killed one of the dogs after the vid was uploaded.Poor things couldn't escape.

actually one of the dogs were eaten by the bear
Unlike most bears, some polar bears don't attack human unless provoked.
Polar bears are the most vicious and aggressive of bears. Mainly due to the enviroment they live in. Food is scarce and everything that can be consumed will be.

A statement of facts is usually followed up by a link to prove the statement... Not 'assholes', Leonardo. You know what happened next? Both mother and cubs are torn out of their habitat because the behavior of the bears was becoming a concern due to the feeding...

I agree. It is clear that the white husky & the polar bear were NOT playing. That poor door is chained up and unable to get away - it breaks my heart.

I agree.....I was getting afraid for that wolf being trapped in his arms. The little play started to get more rough and agressive and the dog was starting to feel uncomfortable and clearly wanted to get out of there. That was upsetting for me. On several occasions since this film was made, after **_'playing and wrestling'_** with Brian's rescue dogs, the polar bears went on to eat some of them alive. Polar bear: OMG IT'S SO FLUFFY. Human, serious question...can I keep this one?
Did you think we didn't know that you are human?
the colon after the words 'Polar Bear" indicate that it is a line of speech being figuratively spoken by the polar bear.
I love this comment :3
Passive aggression is transparent.

this dude sells tickets to people to see bears on his property
he loses 20 dogs every year to bears, not because bears wanted to eat the dogs of course, he kept plenty food around for the bears and the dogs, but because dogs were threat to the bears (especially cubs) that came to feed.
***** I was thinking the same thing, why are the dogs chained! they cant run away! happily they are friends, but something is not right
No, I googled it.

This guy basically kills dogs for money. He's proabably killed more dogs than Michael Vick.
what I find really creepy is that those poor dogs are tied up , they can't run away from these bears , and the reason those bears don't eat the dogs is because the guy feeds the bears with other meats , like seal or whatever , so that the bears will leave the dogs alone ,, there is no true friendship here ,, if the bears where hunger they would eat the dogs ,
when theres hugner, theres hunger, and you cant blame them for that.
I come from Canada , and I know enough about bears , they are not teddy bears like people think ,,, live and learn buddy , and live ,
