Hey Kenji, wanted to throw out a huge thank you to you. I struggled drafting for a really long time; would draft bad rares, guy next to me would draft my same colors but had an infinitely better deck, I'd go headfirst into obvious tricks, the list is endless. After watching your videos and the way you value cards and your ability to notice signals and really understanding the format, I split first in both LGS drafts today running two completely different decks. And I never acknowledged my misplays and how I should've corrected them, but now I do it without any shame. Big thanks dude, you are the best of the best. Thank you from a RUclipsr.
Earlier had the most disgustingly easy 7-1 draft ever, losing only to double mulligan into no third land by turn six. Draft went p1p1 Charming Scoundrel, p1p2 Redcap Gutter-Dweller (I assume the guy passing to me opened Bitterblossom or something), p1p3 Imodane's Recruiter, p1p4 Grasp of Fate... p3p1 Heartflame Duelist, p3p2 Realm-Scorcher Hellkite (from the player I think p1p1'd Bitterblossom). Middle pack I didn't get anything too insane for the first couple packs so I just shamelessly rare drafted a p2p1 Mosswood Dreadknight into p2p2 Bramble Familiar (neither of which I played). Rest of the deck had Hopeful Vigil, The Princess Takes Flight, Stockpiling Celebrant, and wheeled two Grand Ball Guest.
Playing that spell book vendor out instead of holding up jell and light blades was a real mistake. The moss wood knight and another creature gone was way better than getting a role out for 5 damage.
My thoughts exactly. I’m guessing his thought process was more about getting the scry to find land than the 5 damage, but permanently getting rid of that moss knight (and offing another creature in the process) was the better play. That thing just keeps coming.
Me, a veteran of Kenji's YT videos, sees him looking off screen a lot @29:50 Also me....knows kitty kat is about to get scolded for eating plastic or plants
Can say I made an Intangible Virtue deck work well-ish to go 2-1, lost due to mana trouble in game three. I also had Song of Totentanz so that was a lot of fun. The vigilance is of course not relevant with rat tokens but if you can land a couple Hopeful Vigil on top of it, you're in good shape!
One game you said you pray to draw lands, but I didn't hear you praying. The game after, I heard you saying "oh God" so often, that I guess that counted as praying so you drawed lands. 🤣
Yeah 7-21 cards is a lot of chances to find a spell that can seal the game. I think Forced Fruition will only work in limited if you're already in control of the board, in which case there's probably better alternatives.
This is the one thing I hate about MTGA, if you don't have 17 lands (in a 40 card deck) in draft or 24 minimum (in a 60 card deck) in other formats; you get mana screwed very very often.
Spell book and Archon... I looked over my shoulder (even though I live alone) because I felt like I had to make sure nobody saw me watching such *disgusting filth* :p

"I'd go headfirst into obvious tricks" you and me both my friend. I love limited, but man oh man, I have much to learn

Spellbook is 100% a bomb, that thing beat the hell out of me in pre-release.
I was lucky. I beat the hell out of everyone else with it in pre-release.
😂
It's bad it dies to removal
@@nickchaput219 not if you protect it

00:00 Fine. What's up my little baldy MTG Drafter?
Eldraine, where mice are the same size as savannah lions
On 37:08 you could not play 2 drop and wait for their attack and bargain away your enchatment with spell
I believe you played a card an enchantment that made dragons not long ago do you remember what card it was? 😅
I'm watching nummy draft a constructed deck 😂 absolutely hooked up in white with great red support
“All that triggers is gold”
I also drafted R/W and I thought it was gonna be aggro but turned out to be midrange and a little more towards control 🤷🏽♂️
I think you're wrong on Forced Fruition, it's won me multiple games already and it pretty much locks the OP
One game you said you pray to draw lands, but I didn't hear you praying. The game after, I heard you saying "oh God" so often, that I guess that counted as praying so you drawed lands. 🤣
Recruiter is the #3 performing card in the set, after Gruff Triplets and your virtue
Bruh forced fruition is “I win unless you can kill me in the next three spells”
in my experience forced fruition reads "Opp draws seven, conjure a copy of Troublemaker Ouphe into their hand"

Deck was sick
Wilds of L Drain, according to the caption
I heard you like Plains bro.
I think it’s just a good card. 😂
