    One thing I greatly appreciate about your company is the fact that you guys appear to be more transparent than most regarding your product evolutions, QC issues and publicly acknowledging reported issues with your products. Having worked in the industry myself, I can say that transparency is not a common trait. Good luck on recovery and thanks for keeping us posted!

    And your product line is awsome, hopefully I will be able to afford getting myself one of those WLVRNs one day. Stay safe and running till then! Fingers crossed!

    The complete Trek-22 rifle is definetly a step up. But an even greater improvement would be to incorporate other after market features that Ruger refuses to do.
    Easy cleaning through Fletcher 11/22 open top receiver, plus that could give you a more solid metal rail for optics. Tandemkross Manticore lower for better mag release. TacSol X-Ring dual spring bolt would be an improvement, especially if DLC coated like the Volquartsen ones. Lightweight carbon fiber barrel. We usually only get one or two nice patented features on a particular rifle, but then the other 8 we want are proprietary and don't mix. Combine them all and win.

  • @DarthVillar
    @DarthVillar 9 дней назад

    I don't suppose fluted barrel options could be a "upgrade option" in the future now that you do the finish machining? And possibly a higher end barrel blank? That would be quite desirable.

    I'm so sorry, Nick. I know this is hurting your Desert Tech family. I'm praying for all of you and my hope is that this dark time will pass and everyone will be able to come back and your Desert Tech family will be up and running at 100%.
    The barrel announcement is REALLY exciting. In the past, that was something that was a criticism. Now? That should be put to bed.
    Looking forward to the coming year for Desert Tech.

    Great to have this update now, but it would've been even better to have some earlier updates, even just short ones.
    That could've eliminated a lot of speculation.
    We all like to see american companies succeed, get more and higher quality weapons at lower prices. But i understand how people were legitimately worried about your company going under and never getting spare parts again.

    i don't understand the lack of air gapping with a lot of confidential servers or not having read only servers, both those things are really uncommon i'm learning when it comes to companies. Because you should always have a main backup that you can not touch, without physically going to it. Or one interesting option i've heard is to have a simulated network between things that clears all changes and updates by comparing operation to a read only network, and once it's all clear it goes to the active network. This putting everything is this weird state of you never actually read and write to the same network.

      It was what is called a day 1 attack. Most governments know about vulnerabilities that they don't say anything about so that they can deploy them when they can get.the most out of those attacks. They are called day 1 attacks because they are easy to patch and you usually only have a day before that attack won't work anymore.

    Glad to hear that you are recovering well from the cyber attack. Still, Desert Tech should split the MDR family into large and small frame.
    A combat reliable 5.56 (and .300blk) size bullpup. No .308 size and weight, no mag inserts. Just the gun the AUG, Tavor, L85 and Famas always wanted to be.
    16" and 12" (and 8" 300blk) options. Monolithic top rail and removable lower handguard half. Comfy/ changable cheek pads. Either a steeper or even better exchangable AR pistol grips.
    Oh, and maybe an improved trigger pack. Work with Triggertech or Hiperfire. We would absolutely pay for even better (reliable!) triggers. Also, a stronger charging handle.
    And then the big boy rifle for .308, 6.5creed and nowadays 8.6blackout.

    • @that1guy_248
      @that1guy_248 Месяц назад +1

      Because they've moved onto a new generation of MDRX (WLVRN), the lifetime of your MDRX is expiring soon. They'll still repair it until they run out of parts for the MDRX. So you could probably get another 5-10 years of parts out of it. Personally, I think they should have allowed previous generation owners to buy the new generation at a discount.

    • @cxerphax1
      @cxerphax1 Месяц назад

      @@that1guy_248 no, what they should do is if the MDRX breaks or if a part breaks that is necessary for the function of the rifle to work, Desert Tech should at the very minimum offer a heavily discounted WLVRN. IWI for example (a stand up company) will replace their Galil Ace with a Galil Ace gen 2 if you shoot out your barrel because they do not have the tools stateside to replace barrels on that platform. Desert Tech should do something similar and offer some kind of compensation if a MDRX breaks AND becomes unrepairable.
