    Desert Tech should split the MDR family into large and small frame.
    A combat reliable 5.56 (and .300blk) size bullpup. No fancy ejection, no .308 size and weight, no magazine inserts.
    Just a lightweight, compact, reliable bullpup with a precision trigger. The gun the AUG and Tavor and L85 always wanted to be.
    16" and 12" (and 8" 300blk) options. A little less modularity. Just reliable, compact and lightweight. Actually military ready technology.
    Oh, and maybe an improved trigger pack. Maybe even work with Triggertech or Hiperfire. We would absolutely pay for even better triggers.
    And then the big boy rifle for .308, 6.5creed and nowadays 8.6blackout.

      Well you find them a military police or govt contract and I'm sure they'll be happy to spend time and funds on this plan that you keep spamming. Why not start with with the Texas Ranger Division since you're already pretending to be one online.

      Lol. I’m fanatical over long range precision. it’s where science and marksmanship collide to achieve unbelievable hits far beyond what most people can comprehend. We have a range locator that we are establishing on our new website so you can find long range places to shoot near you too. 👍🏻

    It'd be nice if DT took the trek 22 approach and made a bullpup chassis for commonly available cheap bolt action. You can buy a traditional layout bolt guns for $300. The cheapest you're getting a bullpup bolt action is ten times that.

    I would love to see a complete Trek-22 rifle as the gen2. Maybe work with Fletcher and their open top 11/22 to make it easier to clean, plus a metal rail for a more rugged zero.

    I absolutely love my SRS. It truly is a pleasure to shoot,I find that the SRS checks off many of the features in a desired precision platform and maybe more. Is it perfect nope,is it for everyone, probably not, but what is. Thanks, DT, for what you're doing 🤙👍

    • @jstray2321
      @jstray2321 10 месяцев назад

      I kind of disagree with the "is it perfect? is it for everyone" part of your comment. I love my SRS A1. I have other guns I can shoot but, I find myself just buying more barrels in different calibers for me SRS and leaving the others in the gun cabinet. I'm genuinely curious what the complaints with this gun could be? The only legitimate complaint I've heard is "I just don't like shooting Bullpups" - to which they quickly add - but that's just because I'm not used to the bolt location. That's just repetition. The gun is a Ferrari. It shoots like a Ferrari and yes I've shot Mk's. But I can't hand an Mk to my 5ft tall 110lb wife and guarantee her the experience or accuracy she gets out of the srs. She loves shooting it, I love shooting it. Can't imagine a better all in one platform and I think it's the closest thing to being "for everyone" a large caliber rifle can be.

      @@jstray2321is it weird getting used to running a bolt right next to your face?

    • @jstray2321
      @jstray2321 10 месяцев назад

      It wasn't the case for me. After mis-reaching for the bolt location maybe 3-4 times my first time out, that was reduced to maybe once my second time out. A little dry practice at the kitchen table, it now feels completely normal to me. Also, I'm most often shooting either .338 LM or 6.5CM if I'm on a budget that month (FJB right? :P) and working on precision so, I'm not in a hurry for the next shot or anything. It's hard to explain but, the entire process and experience shooting it is almost reverent (If I had to pick a word to describe it). The cheek rest is comfortable and the recoil is manageable even for my tiny sized wife. She only shoots 3-4 times a year and she loves it. Trigger is insanely good. You really can't go wrong with this rifle. It just feels like you're shooting a Ferrari and the conversations it sparks up at the range just add to the experience of it. A quick note my wife qualified at the range in .338LM at 600yds with it her first time out with it with 5 total shots 3 of them counting, 4 on target - it drives tacks. It's the most fun in a gun I've ever had with range shooting and then I can turn it into whatever I want it to be and go somewhere other than the range. I want it to be something else; buy a blank and take it to the smith to have them make it for me. 1 chasis, 3 bolts, 3 mags and you're set for a hunting and range rifle. Hope this helps. DT doesn't pay me to say all of this BTW but if they ever need a retired marketing professor to come help sell a ton of these things then HMU DT :P - but for real lol @@markoeberhardt3132

      @@skepticalbadger They used to make a lefty SRS bolt but they stopped producing it when the A2/M2 revisions were released. As far as other lefty alternatives go, I would recommend the Terminus Zeus Quick-Change action if you want the flexibility of quickly swapping between multiple barrels.

    I miss the old DTA, I love my lefty SRS A1 but they really botched the MDR. Seems they have just become a gun accessory company with their shitty 10/22 stock and the quattro lower, it's been almost two years since they announced it.

    • @DesertTechUT
      @DesertTechUT  10 месяцев назад +4

      We are still very much a rifle developer. We have done smaller projects between rifles because rifles cost millions to develop and the accessories don’t. It is a more sustainable approach to do several smaller projects between big projects. The Quattro is shipping now btw. 👍🏻
