That was really the first warning sign for me.
I know I am in the minority, but I love this stupid movie when I was younger. Arnold Schwarzenegger was 100% over the top and was like a James Bond baddie meets Mystery Science Theater 3000. And without Batman & Robin, we wouldn't have the Nolan trilogy. So I guess that makes it a pretty important movie for its subgenre...
John Glover has done way more work for WB/DC than you mentioned, he is also the voice of tons of characters in their animated works. Most notably he voiced The Riddler in Batman TAS and Superman TAS.
I have to disagree. I liked Clooney as Bruce Wayne and Batman. The dialogue was just too 1960’s. It wasn’t his fault. Honestly, if I ever meet Clooney I’m gonna tell him I liked his Batman. That’s all.
I remember this movie being so stupid that when Batman Begins came out I refused to watch it... I just couldn't bring myself to see another Batman movie...I was just so over Warner ruining the franchise.... eventually I did watch Begins and was incredibly impressed especially excited when they showed that Joker card at the end...
I think it was sexist of them not to put nipples on the Batgirl suit. Equal rights=nips. And at least 3 seconds of beaver. Crush the patriarchy, y’all.
To everyone saying the suit has nipples, first, you’re looking to close at that stupid suit. Second, it doesn’t. It has an approximation of covered nipples using a seam in the already isolated titty panels, which is insane for them to do.
@ Ammm… I always thought it doesn’t have it, but just a few weeks ago I rewatched this movie and I wasn’t even looking that close, but I noticed that it does have nipples Hell, just google „Batman and Robin. Batgirl“ and you‘ll see that or does have just not so noticeable, which is logical, this movie is for kids
George Clooney could have been a great Batman if he was a late stage laid back Batman in a more serious tone of film. And you know what. Despite the poor material and direction they had to work from, this movie had the perfect cast for their roles as well.
Are you gonna be doing Justice League and Zack Snyder's Justice League as one video after Wonder Woman or do the Snyder Cut as a separate video later on after Wonder Woman 1984?
I’m not sure there’s anything redeeming about this movie. It’s the movie that people believe almost killed the long running movie franchise (it’s that bad). If there was one Batman movie I could Thanos snap out of existence, it’s this abomination.
Kudos to this video (and channel) for crucially pointing out the departure of Tim Burton - and its creative effect on this entry (too many media outlets have neglected to mention that Burton had been part of _three_ Batman films during late 1980s and 1990s).
You got a bunch of things wrong. First off, 5:17 Margaret was Alfred's sister, not wife. If she was his wife, Barbara would be his daughter, not niece. Also, 6:35 Freeze and his goons are singing to Snow Miser from The Year Without A Santa Claus, not Jack Frost.
I’ll admit as horrendous and godawful as the movie was it kinda has a special place in my heart because it was alongside sam Raimi’s Spider-Man my introduction to superhero movies
This movie put such a bad taste in my mouth it made me miss Batman Begins. I watched first after I watched The Dark Knight. Who ever green-lit this movie should have been committed.
I was 17 when this came out and went to the movies for it. It definitely completely annoyed me. The theatre had a good crowd in it but everyone was completely silent and a lot of people walked out. I honestly don't know how i made to the end. George Clooney if you are reading this i'll take you up on the offer for a refund.
As a fan of the orginal Adam West Batman series I like this movie. Is it a good movie? Pretty much no. Is it a quirky and fun movie? Definitively yes! I'm pretty sure, that they wanted to capture the tone and humor of the original series. That being said, I also dislike most of the DC movies... not really into the super tragic, dark stuff that is way to present in most of them.
This movie is more like the 60s version of Batman and George Clooney sucked as Batman. I prefer Tim Burton's Batman films and the Dark Knight Trilogy by Nolan.
I was 15 when this came out and it was already too silly. I had loved 'Forever, but this one was too much. Still, those Freeze and Ivy performances are something to behold... Arnie and Uma both very capable of delivering maximum ham.

Also, all I ever hear is how over the top Schwarzenegger was, but I actually found Uma Thurman much more silly and over the top. Schwarzenegger makes this movie for me lol. Just like the rest of the cast, he knows exactly what kind of campy kids movie he's a part of and he's having a blast 😂
After many years I see it differently. It's not a good movie but rather "so bad it's good". It's silly, and campy, with colours taken from Unreal Tournament. Schwarzenegger's one-liners make for a great drinking game (drink every time there's a reference to ice - you won't even remember the film later :D). Clooney didn't seem to be taking the script seriously and his acting looks very tongue-in-cheek (probably after realizing the batsuit had bat-nipples :D). It's just one of the movies which nowadays are a "guilty pleasure". When it was released I was expecting a more serious Burton-like tone but years passed and it's good that such a bad film has been made. It's a bad Batman movie but a good live-action cartoon and at my age, I noticed that sometimes such silliness is necessary when life gets too serious :)

Ah the Batman film that was so cringe they didn't make another Batman movie for almost 10 years...
Mr Freeze had a dope ass costume til this day let’s be real 🔥💯
We could have had Nicholas Cage as Superman?!
I think it was sexist of them not to put nipples on the Batgirl suit. Equal rights=nips. And at least 3 seconds of beaver.
Crush the patriarchy, y’all.
Alicia Silverstone was a hot batgirl gotta give em that.
They are there look closer....
But… Batgirl suit has nipples
To everyone saying the suit has nipples, first, you’re looking to close at that stupid suit. Second, it doesn’t. It has an approximation of covered nipples using a seam in the already isolated titty panels, which is insane for them to do.
@ Ammm… I always thought it doesn’t have it, but just a few weeks ago I rewatched this movie and I wasn’t even looking that close, but I noticed that it does have nipples
Hell, just google „Batman and Robin.
I do not think he could be a good Batman, but he could have done a good job as Bruce Wayne.
Are you gonna be doing Justice League and Zack Snyder's Justice League as one video after Wonder Woman or do the Snyder Cut as a separate video later on after Wonder Woman 1984?
Snyder Cut as a separate video after 1984.
Joel Schumacher showed everyone how NOT to make a superhero movie.
We can now reverse engineer this movie and do the opposite of what he had done.
Still better than Affleck's Batman's combined. They don't have this rewatchability and production design, haha
Idc what anyone says, I love Batman & Robin!
I remember renting this from Holywood videos and man I was praying that the VHS will just snap
I’m not sure there’s anything redeeming about this movie. It’s the movie that people believe almost killed the long running movie franchise (it’s that bad).
If there was one Batman movie I could Thanos snap out of existence, it’s this abomination.
John Glover was also in Shazam! 2019
Best Batman toy commercial ever!
Why did Barbara rock up still in school uniform like did you just leave school and jump straight on a plane
Kudos to this video (and channel) for crucially pointing out the departure of Tim Burton - and its creative effect on this entry (too many media outlets have neglected to mention that Burton had been part of _three_ Batman films during late 1980s and 1990s).
I remember the Patrick Stewart rumors from before this movie came out
RIP Joel Schumacher
I prefer George as Bruce/Batman over Val
You got a bunch of things wrong. First off, 5:17 Margaret was Alfred's sister, not wife. If she was his wife, Barbara would be his daughter, not niece. Also, 6:35 Freeze and his goons are singing to Snow Miser from The Year Without A Santa Claus, not Jack Frost.
I’ll admit as horrendous and godawful as the movie was it kinda has a special place in my heart because it was alongside sam Raimi’s Spider-Man my introduction to superhero movies
Why would anyone want to revisit this nightmare?
This movie put such a bad taste in my mouth it made me miss Batman Begins. I watched first after I watched The Dark Knight. Who ever green-lit this movie should have been committed.
I actually really loved this movie as a kid
The car was I think the best part. I’m so happy I got to see it in person
😂, I wasn't fond of this one though. I think George Clooney is overrated as a actor but I think Val was better considering everything else.
Only movie I ever walked out of in the middle.
My daughters asked me to shut down the movie in the first 10 minutes.
Still better than TDK trilogy
Agreed. That trilogy is boring AF.
I remember coming out the cinema kinda numb like...'That can't possibly be as bad as it felt..' 2nd viewing just made it worse..
This is the very first Batman film I’ve ever saw, and I’d be lying if I said this film isn’t a guilty pleasure of mine.
8:44 That's *Jason* Woodrue, not John!
This movie is more like the 60s version of Batman and George Clooney sucked as Batman. I prefer Tim Burton's Batman films and the Dark Knight Trilogy by Nolan.
How did Batman suck at being Batman?
@@peteyprimo7173 let's see him not changing his voice or attitude,so it's basically Clooney acting like himself in a batsuit.
The Goo Goo Dolls also had a song in the movie, called “Lazy Eye.” You actually hear it in the movie for a couple of seconds.
Batman and Robin is a masterpiece if you watch it as a superhero parody
It's fun and not to be taken Seriously. Its a Modern Version of the Adam West Batman...
I loved the movie as a child, I understand now that it has huge problems, still I respect it, good work Joblo 👏👍🤗👑🎖🏅🏆😊👑👍
I was 15 when this came out and it was already too silly. I had loved 'Forever, but this one was too much. Still, those Freeze and Ivy performances are something to behold... Arnie and Uma both very capable of delivering maximum ham.
I love Batman & Robin! It's so much fun and beautiful. I never got why it gets so much hate
Because it was a sequel to the serous movies
The movie is nothing but a toy commercial but I didn’t hate it tho
All 90’s movies were a toy commercial…..
@@alejandromolinac all movies now are toy commercials
@@CaptainCat101if they would’ve said it was a sequel to the west series, I think it would’ve been received better. That’s how I view this movie. Not good movie but to me it’s not too bad to the point it’s unwatchable
Julie Madison was Bruce Wayne's original girlfriend in the comics. So it was a clever call-out. Like someone actually did research. : )
Great movie discussion on the history of this film love it ❤👍
I tried to watch this again a few weeks ago...I couldn't finish.
The movie they are 'singing' is A year without a santa claus
Yep. That was Snow Miser not Jack Frost.
@@joerogers9413 other than that no issues but I mean I do point out the big issues 🤣
@@bagginsfrodos 🙂
I personally enjoy this movie. Plenty of people liked Forever, but everyone hates this installment. I'll take Batman & Robin any day.
You think George Cloomey is overrated?
Since there’s no other Batman worse than him…
Bat Twerpisson
I thought Tim Burton was essentially asked not to return after Batman Returns, not him leaving to pursue other creative projects
As bad as BATMAN & ROBIN is, I still would’ve like to watch the third movie in the trilogy. The so-called BATMAN TRIUMPHANT.
I was 6 when this came out too and I got it for Christmas and watched it on Christmas Day too, my sister watched it with me tho and now I can see that she was definitely not enjoying the movie just spending the time with me. I had so many toys from this movie too. Man I wonder if everyone who was 6 when this came out had the same experience.
