19:22 After Junior called her out for mocking his uncle's death she should have realised what she did was fucked up and they should have had her try to be a better person when what she did sunk in. Instead she did the fake "I'm pretending to say sorry so you'll give Chucky to my sister" thing. It was a very "I'm sorry you feel that way" where she wasn't sorry for doing it. Only sorry she got told off for doing it.

Cape Queer my favorite epidode I did not expect Junior mom and Devon mom to die at least not that yet that was surprising yeah the character development of the moms we should have seen more especially Devon mom but still the episode was everything.
Another viewer pointed this out and I am surprised I didn't see it before. Junior killed his dad because he believed he was having an affair with Jennifer Tilly/Tiffany. So when Chucky brings Junior to the Ray household he sees Tiffany. He should clearly understand now that she and Chucky are in cahoots and should realize that the wool had been pulled over his eyes. It should have woken him up and had him conclude that he was tricked into killing his dad and he should have felt the effects of his whole family being murdered with Chucky being the cause and Junior, himself, being just as culpable in it. Unfortunately, this is never touched upon and they pretty much write it off.
Honestly, I just thought that Junior went crazy, and didn’t even care about that anymore. He already lost it. When you go psycho, you lose all rationalization almost.
Unpopular opinion: Junior was the best character out of the teen characters and the best acted. How they did him on the finale after that build up in episode 7 was horrendous.
I liked the opening visuals too, with the word Chucky being spelled using different things each time, sometimes knives, sometimes pumpkins, or the final episode with Good Guy doll boxes. Good way to start each show and you didn't even mention it.
My problem with this series is.. It had a lot of crazy setups, that never really went anywhere. The whole reveal with Junior was really cool, then they just killed him. Lexi was this shit character who needed a redeeming arc, who never got one. The cop was actually a cool character, onto something, actually became a little more likable.. then they killed her. Jennifer Tilly was really sinister in Episode 6.. then wasn't. Then turned into Seed Tiffany again. The whole scene with Chucky being used to beat his dad over the head was awesome.. then he just starts singing. Then during the death of Bree, they played bubblegum pop music as she just stands there and stares at the cart coming toward her without moving... and Chucky's blowing kisses at her as she's falling. They could've darkened the lights in a lot of these silly scenes, added some more horror music, and it would've been a bit more effective. e All this little stuff I hope gets addressed. There's no denying nearly everyone (every reaction I've seen) felt really off. They need to go darker for Season 2, keep his one liners short and sinister, no kisses, no bubblegum pop music during death scenes, no Tiffany being stupid, and actually carry on with plot lines they're going to introduce and develop upon them - and stick with them instead of getting rid of the few interesting things the show has. I still enjoyed the heck out of this series - but there are a lot of "weird" issues to it - and I'm glad it's just not me.
Episode 2 with Chucky wearing the Hello Kitty mask was hilarious. "Jesus Christ you all look like a bunch of damn idiots." LMAO Dude you're a super natural possessed doll trick or treating in a Hello Kitty mask haha.
I hate that they killed off Junior in the finale. Here's a better way the show could've handled him. The kid who got stabbed to death at the party in episode 3 should've been assumed to be Chucky but really it was Junior. He could've stayed oblivious to what's going on with Chucky until episode 7 or 8 when they reveal that Junior has known about Chucky all along when he kills his dad. Then they could've ended the season with him killing Lexi or her mom.
@@charlesleeray1873 it felt like a let down for me. There are character choices I don't understand. The writing this season wasn't the best. And I don't like Don retconing his work constantly. But glad you liked it. It's not like it ruined the season for me, like I said I enjoyed it overall.
17:12 As much as I despise Seed, there was a line in that movie when Chucky says “Its been a family tradition for generations” which that flashback of Charles killing his own mom contradicts what Chucky said in Seed, idk how to feel about that.
If I had to rank the episodes overall from what I remember it would probably look like this 8. Episode 8 7. Episode 7 6. Episode 6 5. Episode 1 4. Episode 3 3. Episode 4 2. Episode 5 1. Episode 2 Overall, I really enjoyed the season up until the finale. Most of the problems are in the last three episodes in my opinion. Many elements of the story started to become rushed and there was little pay off for many interesting storylines. However, I’m excited for season two but I hope this time don actually finishes his storylines instead of rushing them and pushing them onto another season.
No argument that episode 2 is the best plus imo the kill in the episode is my favorite of the show it’s quick, brutal, and something that can easily happen in real life . The moment she hit the knives my body physically reacted
I've been loving your Chucky videos through the season!! Completely agree with you. I wasn't a fan of how they used Tiffany, and was very confused about Kyle.
Im saying kyle isn't dead just because i think shes one tough leather badass and i think the leather glove on the tree was her because she always wears leather gloves and outfit lol SPOILER EDIT: Season 2 Episode 4 came out revealing kyle is alive and i was right....She is one tough leather badass.
Favorite episode of the season, episode 4. It had my favorite kill by Chucky in the hospital, Chucky trying to get Jake to "just let go" was great and the hospital setting with all the characters there worked really well imo.
To be quite honest Junior should have been the main character Jake could have been a supporting character Junior was a waste of character really and he had potential.
Junior could come back as a ghost tormenting lexi for letting him die or something as she breaks down next season, sounds a bit silly but it's a possibility
Come on Cody!! You got admit in episode 8 Chuckies “that’s so gay” joke was brilliant!!! But definitely when I saw Fiona Douriff with no arms and legs my reaction wasn’t “oh no”. It’s was just straight NO!!!! Wtf? She’s a great actress!! So talented!!!
I don't even know how I feel about Lexi character cause you can't go from being a bully, selfish and evil person to now a sweet and caring individual overnight her dressing up and making fun of Jake dead father was no coming back from that and then turned face after Jake told her he sent Chucky to kill her she actually had no choice to stick by Jake anyway cause nobody would believe her if she told on him but still be nasty and cruel to him especially over that and I find it funny she showed sympathy for Jake in the finale when they thought Devon died but not his father her character all over the place.
The Halloweem episode will always be #1 I just don't understand how a cruel person like Lexi change overnight oh cause she was almost killed I expect you to still mortally hate the person who sent their doll to kill you I don't know how she want anything to do with Jake for that reason alone there they did a great job making her very hated but her character is weird.
cody doesn’t miss! it’s a pretty good ranking. i feel like tiffany goes on with chucky’s plan because she wants herself in power as opposed to him. regardless if she’s done with chucky and sick of being told what to do, she’s going to go on with the plan since she’s still crazy and evil. keep it up 🤘🏻
It’s New Chucky content so I’m in on this series…. But I felt like they left a lot on the table!! Just felt like it could have been so much better than it was
I really stand with what i said, junior should have left with Nica and Tiffany so they could play this pseudo creepy family and give Nica a little of hope trying to change Junior and help her escape especially if she is now very much handicapped
It's funny,I knew immediately that Fionna and Tiffany were from the movie,Andy as well. Fortunately I just watched Cult of Chucky for the first time like a week before the series started. I liked Cult of Chucky, went in cold, wasn't expecting much. But,I was pleasantly surprised.
I pretty much agree. The early episodes were the best. It's almost like evoloution of the movies through the series. Begining felt like the 1st 3 movies and the ending felt like cult and seed. Self aware humor takes over all horror elements. Always had humor but was funny lines mixed with horror vs breaking 4th wall more then Deadpool.
I literally was just thinking about this video, and you uploaded it 43 seconds ago. Whoa. Psychic thinking with Damballa??? Also, episode 2 was my favorite. Chucky and Halloween just vibe so well. Definitely was a treat. Least fav episode was probably the last one. They could have easily killed Junior off at the beginning of the season 2. Raise the stakes. Still a good series tho.
Great ranking cody. Episode 8 is also my least favorite and the 2nd is my favorite. Overall I enjoyed the 1st season and I can't wait for the next season. Loving all the content your putting out, hope you and the family are staying safe.
You know, I just had a good time with this. Chucky is that series, that much like Friday the 13th, you can put on and just have mindless fun every single time. I do think they've made a mistake with Nica's character. I think they sacrificed a great character for shock value and in doing so, you could sacrifice the 2nd season. In either case, I'm going to tune in to Season 2 because...you know...fun. I thought for sure that they were going to have Lexi's character arc be that she sacrificed herself for one of the others.
The more I reflect on it, they did make some questionable decisions in handling Jake and Devon's relationship, especially there at the end. I was going to explain away Jake's hesitation to call Devon his bf: because of the sad conversation they all had after Devon's mother was killed, maybe Jake was wanting to give Devon space and wasn't sure until the very end that Devon still wanted to be boyfriends. But this was all handled a bit messy, I think, so it's not clear.
episode 1 was my least favourite because that first episode didn't interest me in the show but episode 2 was so good it made me rewatch the movies and finally become a big Chucky fan so that would be my favourite episode.
I didn't hate any of the episodes per say, but my least favorite episode is your second favorite Cody, episode 3. Worst kill of the season (Oliver's death) and Chucky failing to kill Lexi at the end of it just bugged the crap out of me.
Two was also my favorite I feel like episode one and two were really promising and I actually thought this would be a five out of five but immediately episode 3 felt like a dip in quality and the show kinda just went downhill with a couple good scenes between episodes 3 to 8. But the story or lack of story given just dragged their feet for 8 episodes and yet somehow also went too fast in parts like the unbreakable friendship between jake Devin and lexi. Cp gave a way better story for junior’s mom and the show gave a lack luster one same with Devin’s mom. I say it a 2 out of 5 for the season.
The revelation that Chucky needed to "corrupt an innocent soul" in order to make an army of himself was just really lazy, convenient writing to me. It's the same problem I had with Cult of Chucky. That and Tiffany's character continues to annoy me. But aside from that, I really enjoyed the show and am eagerly anticipating Season 2.
Am with you on the Rankin mate my biggest problem was Devon the kid looked like he was forced by his parents to take this role he has no character at all
No I don't think it makes sense to rank a tv series amongst films. Though if you had a gun to my head for an answer this would rank above Seed and Cult but below Curse.
Can you guys honestly say at the end of the day that this was a good season? I liked scenes with Chucky here and there, but overall, I found the ending and overall impression of season 1 to be underwhelming.
Awesome list I was really disappointed with the show my ranking 1 episode 2 2 episode 4 3 episode 6 4 episode 1 5 episode 3 6 episode 7 7 episode 5 8 episode 8
I really wish Junior had more to do. It felt like he was really pushed aside in the story until his big moment towards the end. Which was probably the point but he should've at least had more to do.
The flashbacks the tifany and possesed /unpossesed Nika and every episode after 3 I have not enjoyed. When every one knows chucky is alive it just gets ridiculous. At least the finale explained how is Chucky so strong by being meta about it. 2/5
Shit,I watched every episode except for the 8th. Junior kills his Dad. But,Andy gets killed in the finale!? WTF guys. Why would they do that. Andy should have lived til almost the end of it. Yes they should have had a mean ass showdown. I'm watching it. Lovin' it so far. They swear an awful lot to be on USA Network.
Here’s my list: Episodes I didn’t like in comparison to how much I enjoyed the show and franchise as a whole: (8)Worst 1 is episode 8: I loved some of it and specially the Nica part, but was very underwhelming... (7)Second worse is episode 7: it was just a setup episode, and I didn’t like the follow up so... and also... FAMILY!!! Than you have the Mid tier, which I liked but didn’t love: (6)Episode 3: I liked the flashbacks and the Jake stuff but hated the kill and how no one noticed the fire. And Lexi was the worst and cliffhanger didn’t help. (5)Episode 1: it was good but little stuffed and I thought they waisted the father uncle relationship and I wanted it to be more flashed out. (4)Episode 4: the episode had many flaws, namely Lexi! but I loved the Peter Pan part and the hospital environment with Chucky flipping off the kids at the end! (3)Episode 6: I loved Andy and Kyle and the Kills were actually important to the plot! However, I didn’t like the flashbacks and was very underwhelmed from the traps and how they acted stupidly in that situation. Than you have the two episodes I loved: (2)Episode 5: I loved everything from the flashbacks to that awesome ending kill! It’s also the best Lexi episode and the best episode for the Devon/Jake relationship... (1)Episode 2: for me this is the best episode of the season: the Halloween atmosphere is amazing and I love the apple scenes! all Jake’s relationships are super interesting(with Devon, Logan, Lexi, Junior and of course Chucky). Loved the Kill and was Shocked when Lexi dressed as Lucas!
I watched the first episode and wasn’t impressed so honestly probably won’t get around to the rest of it anytime soon. Loved the talent show when Chucky cracked some great jokes though. Curse was pretty solid but just not a huge fan of these Mancini directed stories. Looking forward to a sequel to the reboot. Thought that was the most respectable after the original four films.
Hell yea, after watching the disappointment that was Cult, and even though the remake was a good movie on its own, the original is back! I do agree at episode 8 is the worst of them all, and the most potential in Devon’s mom, and the direction with Andy and Kyle. I think you’ve missed the whole Lexy and Jake angle, because, while they did a fantastic job at making her so despicable, this kind of trauma these three kids are going through and having to work together to stay alive and put an end to this chaos can change any relationship easily. So the character change in Lexy doesn’t really bug me. The Devon/Jake relationship feels a bit forced and unnatural. Maybe it’s the acting or writing, because there are some cringeworthy moments in that. But it just feels Hollywood is trying to force the whole “gay” stuff on audiences. And you see it here where it doesn’t feel natural and just comes off as weird. (E.g. the gay couple in the opening of It:Chapter2) And yea, where they left things off with Nica, while shocking it was, kinda leaves you with a sour taste in your mouth because it’s like, “okay, where’s things going for her, there’s only so many direction’s they can go and none of it feels satisfying.” Can’t wait for season 2 though. Oh! At the end of episode 8 you see a black gloved hand touch a tree as the kids are looking at Junior’s grave - I think that could be Kyle?
I love how Chicky seems to be scared of Andy now!! Him hiding in the toilet to avoid Andy was pretty great!
Chucky ***

The only thing I didn’t really like is that they show Charles before he becomes chucky and him killing people but he never once strangles anyone just stabbing! He’s the lakeshore strangler

Only sorry she got told off for doing it.

ranking the kills of the season huh what do you say Mr. Leach
I didn't hate any of the episodes per say, but my least favorite episode is your second favorite Cody, episode 3. Worst kill of the season (Oliver's death) and Chucky failing to kill Lexi at the end of it just bugged the crap out of me.
Spoilers.
They should've done Kyle justice.
My fav episode is episode 6
Am with you on the Rankin mate my biggest problem was Devon the kid looked like he was forced by his parents to take this role he has no character at all
Agreed. Solid ranking.
Episode 1 10/10
Episode 2 9/10
Episode 3 9/10
Episode 4 10/10
Episode 5 9/10
Episode 6 9/10
Episode 7 10/10
Episode 8 4/10
Agree
Will you re-rank the Child's Play franchise with this season?
No I don't think it makes sense to rank a tv series amongst films. Though if you had a gun to my head for an answer this would rank above Seed and Cult but below Curse.
@@CodyLeachYT nice, I'm at least glad you said where you'd place it
I knew this was coming.
Can you guys honestly say at the end of the day that this was a good season? I liked scenes with Chucky here and there, but overall, I found the ending and overall impression of season 1 to be underwhelming.
Awesome list I was really disappointed with the show my ranking
1 episode 2
2 episode 4
3 episode 6
4 episode 1
5 episode 3
6 episode 7
7 episode 5
8 episode 8
I think I’m still a little too salty over the decisions in the finale to give these a fair judgment yet 💀 #JusticeForJunior
@CoolTrey Reacts lol I meant his character had more storyline to be explored and he was killed off out of nowhere.
Nah justice for nica.
@@gamingcantina9157 also agree
Watch the last episode. He doesn’t die.
My ranking would be
8. 8
7. 3
6. 4
5. 5
4. 1
3. 6
2. 7
1. 2
The show made like Curse/Cult better and the only thing i guess i didn’t like it the final episode.
Here’s my list:
Episodes I didn’t like in comparison to how much I enjoyed the show and franchise as a whole:
(8)Worst 1 is episode 8: I loved some of it and specially the Nica part, but was very underwhelming...
(7)Second worse is episode 7: it was just a setup episode, and I didn’t like the follow up so... and also... FAMILY!!!
Than you have the Mid tier, which I liked but didn’t love:
(6)Episode 3: I liked the flashbacks and the Jake stuff but hated the kill and how no one noticed the fire.
Than you have the two episodes I loved:
(2)Episode 5: I loved everything from the flashbacks to that awesome ending kill!
Haha Shocked. I see what you did there.
@@DrSuess360 what did I do?
@@wardenmagellan2643 I think he saw that as a joke that the father was electrocuted to death but the comment wasn’t meant to make that joke
everyone is going to have different opinions. I personally think all episodes were great. The way the whole season was put together was perfect
Also was it just me or not?? But the soundtrack was gawd awful???
(E.g. the gay couple in the opening of It:Chapter2)
And yea, where they left things off with Nica, while shocking it was, kinda leaves you with a sour taste in your mouth because it’s like, “okay, where’s things going for her, there’s only so many direction’s they can go and none of it feels satisfying.”
Can’t wait for season 2 though.
Oh! At the end of episode 8 you see a black gloved hand touch a tree as the kids are looking at Junior’s grave - I think that could be Kyle?
