47773 with The Ffestiniog Express at Tal-y-Cafn 8/6/2024

47773 with Vintage Trains' "Ffestiniog Express" railtour at Tal-y-Cafn, a beautiful rural halt on the Conwy Valley Line. This is the first station I've ever visited that has a manual level crossing, which has to be opened and closed by the crossing keeper. The journey to this station is about as scenic as it gets, following the sea along the North Wales Coast line until Llandudno Junction, then following the River Conwy down into Snowdonia through Glan Conwy station. On the return journey, I see 4079 "Clun Castle" stabled in Llandudno Junction station. This loco operated the tour as far as Llandudno Junction, where it had to be taken off due to gauging issues along the Conwy Valley line.
