Cheers mate, thanks for watching. That was a mega weekend for tours - 20s, a 37, a 40 and a 45. Some hellfire thrash, especially from Andania and 37407.

Cheers mate, it's been a very busy year, probably my busiest ever, and after a whole lot of organising my clips into the best highlights, 9 seems to be the sweet spot if December goes to plan. I think last year only had about 6, and even then, that was with less tight criteria. January and February were fairly quiet months, but it definitely ramps up in the next few videos.

Cheers mate, sorry to hear you couldn't make it to these galas, but it looks like there will be some great events next year, I'm especially looking forward to the Legends of Steam event. Agreed that the latest diesel galas have been fantastic events, I found the Class 40 gala to be especially enjoyable. Not too crowded compared to the main diesel gala, and all locos involved were hellfire. The driver of 37109 in particular really gave it the beans, first time I've seen a 37 being driven 'properly' in a long while

Thanks for watching, certainly a large delivery of logs. I sometime find it difficult to fathom how many trees it must take considering this huge log delivery runs usually 4 or 5 times every single week.

@@StokesTrains Cheers mate, was definitely good fun, not very often you get a chance to chase something like the Northern Belle but the timings worked out just fine here, although I did have to absolutely leg it to platform 5 at Crewe to make my train 👍

@@StokesTrains Cheers mate, it really is a nice station, feels like a time capsule back in time about 10 years. I always try to go there whenever something interesting is going through, but unfortunately that isn't very often, so it's mostly just RHTTs that I see there nowadays

Cheers mate, appreciate your kind comment. Northwood is probably my favourite location on the entire line for thrash - you can get it in both directions thanks to the crossing. Agreed about Western Champion, she certainly had the loudest thrash of the gala, especially on her run to Bridgnorth, felt like the platform was rumbling under my feet as she went past 👍

​Whilst I was there, I met the photographer behind a well-known photo of a GWR HST at Dawlish, a photo that has been put on all the postcards you see of Dawlish, and I believe he said the same thing about how strange it is seeing a HST as a "heritage attraction" of sorts, especially considering they're still in passenger service up in Scotland! The HSTs are truly timeless, they still feel so modern despite being not far off 50 years old at this point

Thanks for watching mate, the Llangollen is always a really good day out. They have a great DMU fleet, and it's been great to see them get 3802 and the Pannier Tank back in working order. Not wanting to give too much away but whilst at this event, I spoke with a few of the volunteers who told me they have a few great galas planned for next year which will be brilliant to see

Thanks for watching mate, Winsford is a great spot like you say, the Pendolinos are really shifting and so are some of the container trains if they don't stop them to wait for another train

It's in the car park of what seems to be an old mill converted into a block of flats. It seems like it's public, I've gone there many times and never had any issues whatsoever, I've met a few of the residents whilst there and spoken with them and none of them had any issues with me being there

Ah ok, I'll check that out next time I'm there, likely for the DMU gala

It's not really much of a DMU gala lol they have a HST, 40 and 50 running

@@railquest Cheers mate, that 104 really is a lovely unit, and good to see it working a bit harder than usual with the extra load. The 127 also sounded great at this gala I thought, notably louder than I recalled

Certainly some strong contenders here - it's never a worthwhile decision to risk your life to catch a train!

Cheers mate, the Heart of Wales is a great line for thrash, so as soon as this tour with the 37s was announced, I knew it was one I couldn't miss, especially that spectacular climb up to Sugar Loaf

@@theretrocrowe just found out hornby removed the belt-drive system from the fans, because it was causing motor wear. If you look inside, the fan and housing should still be there, unless its a railroad plus model.

Seems a bit strange LSL putting all of their recently acquired 37s in scotrail livery as I'm pretty sure none of them wore it before

@@bptrains It is a bit strange isn't it, although I believe 401 is the only one other that 409 that is going into Scotrail, I believe they want two of them so they can run T&T with this Scotrail set, as a single 37/4 doesn't have enough ETH to power the whole set

Thanks for watching mate, funnily enough I was just watching your video of the tour as well. I was at Llandrindod for about 15 minutes and got there only a few minutes after it arrived, but it was just so crowded that we must've missed each other! Most people will say Intercity's North West Wanderer was the best tour of the year, and rightfully so, but in my opinion, this was my favourite tour of the year. Great traction, great scenery and probably the most enjoyable trip out I've had all year.

Cheers mate, yeah I believe VT did occasionally divert HSTs through here, the last time was probably some time around 2002/3. I don't think the NMT has ever been down this bit of the line but I'd be happy to stand corrected?

Cheers pal, yeah Delamere is probably my favourite station on the whole line to be honest, really nice spot. Shame it doesn't get much other than the monthly 37s
