Lego Remote Control Sian (Engine+Steering+Transmission)

I customized Lego set 42115 to make it fully remote controllable via a PS4 video game controller. Not only are the engine and steering motorized, but there is a 3 speed (plus Neutral) transmission that can be shifted remotely (the stock transmission had to be completely rebuilt from scratch to allow this).

good vid! very informative. BTW, isnt there any way to control lego with ps4 controller, without ipad or iphone running brickcontroller2? I want to keep it simple like only lego and ps4 controller needed.

Thanks - nope you can’t control Lego directly with a ps4 controller - you must use sw on an iPhone - you can just keep the iPhone in your pocket although it is admittedly complicated to get all needed components powered on and synched up each time

When you get the Sian box does it have its own motor or did you add it?

None are included - you need to add the control unit and 3 motors which cost about $200 total

Hi - Sorry - I spent about 2 weeks trying no end of permutations before I found a design that worked and then I cannot remember how I put it together. If you search for "Lego RC Sian" you will find a video someone else made of a relatively simple mod to add motors (minus the transmission).
