Hahah I called it. Bethesda released a hotfix for this update yesterday. Unfortunately, I was a day late on the news, but hey, the update to the update still don't fix much. Y'all can expect several more updates for a while. I definitely recommend staying on the old version of Fallout 4, until they for sure stop updating the game. For all console players, I'm praying for y'all 🙏 stay strong boys
Also, hope y'all enjoy the new face cam. It's something I wanna do more of going forward (definitely not showing off my baller cd collection)
6 seconds? crazy
I could care less about the Amazon show. Its another example of f*cking the preexisting lore. Just like the Witcher series and HALO from Paramount. It retcons Fallout 1 and 2, and by proxy FNV.
I am not expecting yaboy to have long hair.
I see ya MoistCr1tikal x Jesus
I can't even access the mods tab, so... yeah. "Hotfix" my ass. More like patching a sinking ship with duct tape.
This "update" took the same time to come out as Bethesda gave obsidian to make fallout new vegas... Let that sink in
Pretty sure the update took longer, update took 2 years, New Vegas took 18 months.
New Vegas didn't crash whenever you shot an object, either. Even as janky and busted as it was at release, it wasn't *this* busted.
Roughly the same amount of time from the announcement, who knows when they actually started working on it? Based on what we got I'd say last month. 😂
Keep in mind, Vegas was also a cannibalization of Fallout 3, and scraps of what would have been Fallout 3; It wasn't made from scratch. Bethesda, on the other hand, made this "update", that was basically 50% "jank", 45% "mod breaker", and 5% "slop content that could have been tossed in years ago"; They seemingly intended to break the very game they made, because simple incompetence doesn't cover this crap, particularly after it happened maybe twice with Skyrim.
@@Umbra_Ursus if an interview with the director of fnv is anything to go by that wasn't the initial plan, obsidian truly wanted to make something unique but hey... Bethesda wanted a game made in 18 months so cut had to be made (and the fact that it's still the best game in the entire franchise says a lot lmao)
And they STILL haven't added classic visible holstered weapons, amazing
There was already a mod that did that... and guess what mod doesn't work now?
@@googleisevil8958 My stomach dropped when i realised that mod wasn't working anymore.
Man, i'm pissed many essential mods that add or fix so much become useless even for a small bug fix, and i feel bad for the authors having to rework their mods when they've been working perfectly for years.
This mechanic was ripped from fallout 4 so bad what even before next gen update this mod was a pain to install and make it work. At least for me.
I still can't believe they were so lazy that they didn't add that back. Just baffles my mind.
Um.. have you seen the armors in Fallout 4? They weren't designed to account for holstered weapons. Just look at the Raider armor.
Bethesda

Meanwhile the fanboy : Wow Bethesda really respect us by updating the game.
True. Also, I didn’t expect to see you here. I always see you in Tectone videos lmao.
Bethesda literally hates Fallout because it isn't THEIR creation, this is why they retconned basically the NCR out of existence.
They HATE the idea of Fallout EVOLVING.
@@streptococo4735 Spoilers for the show
I wouldn't say they retconned it out of existence. That's a bit of a leap. The NCR isn't confirmed gone by any means. Also, if they hated other creations so much then they wouldn't have ended the show by showing new vegas.
@@infinityseven5924 your not paying attention then.
Vaults 31 to 33 are canon according to the showrunners and Bethesda.
Vaults that would have existed in FALLOUTS 1 AND 2. Games that werent made or written by BETHESDA...
Said VAULTS would have been raided by the Master since the Cathedral was near Santa Monica and he had access to VAULT TEC RECORDS.
The Enclave have a " base" NEAR NCR Territory, when they were outright destroyed and lost most of their forces on the Oil Rig. The ones " mentioned" in Chicago disobeyed orders and might have joined the BoS there.
If Bethesda "doesnt" hate Obsidian or the older games, Why did they reject Obsidian in 2018 when they approached them to work on another Fallout?????
Im really sick of people making excuses for Bethesda pure f*cking incompetance and stupidity.
@@MLPDethDealr32 Wow, ok. I'm no Bethesda fanboy by a long shot and I'm certainly not making excuses. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe they want to fuck up new vegas with their own writing. However, there are many reasons that they could have rejected obsidian creating more fallouts. For one, the original writers aren't there. There are many more business reasons why they would reject it. Still, maybe they did reject it just because they didn't want obsidian becoming the one known for the franchise. You're ranting a bit much here, but a lot of it is just speculation. There are many inconsistencies across the franchise and I certainly wouldn't immediately assume that it was intentional to rub out the old lore. They can't even put accurate loot in prewar containers. Regardless, there has been no hard retconning of the NCR. I've never defended Bethesda for anything. I shit on them like everyone else for the garbage they pull. In this case I'm just not jumping to conclusions. Tone down the ranting a bit.
Enclave in the west at the end of FO2: 💀
Enclave in the east at the end of FO3: 💀
Bethesda: UH OH GUYS THE ENCLAVE IS BACK IN BOSTON!!! 😦
If they actually want to bring back the enclave they gotta make them joinable and have actual depth instead of just being le evil american government with cartoonishly evil people in it.
what’s even worse is that they keep making the protagonists friggin vault dwellers every. dang. time. interplay and obsidian? Vault Dweller only for the first game, then a tribal, then a random courier.
ugh…. outside of From, and occasionally Capcom with Monster Hunter, all the old AAA studios are complete useless crap now.
@@mkv2718 Micro Forté: protagonist is a fresh BoS recruit (a wastelander) in Tactics.
Also I think Fallout 2 kinda implies that at that point everybody should've already gotten out of the vaults or died. Because a lot of time has passed. But Bethesda still clings to the idea that people can live in Vaults still. For hundreds of years at this point.
plot twist its a dust or frost mod plot
They were just minding their own business this time, and you murdered them all. Or they were genuinely trying to be good people that time, and you murdered them in cold blood.
@@cjnf11 I can't remember who it was - Shoddycast, RadKing, EpicNate, or someone else - did an in-depth discussion about how Bethesda refuses to move the game forward and is stuck on a short list of "quirky ideas" from the original Interplay Fallout. Vaults? Check. Brotherhood of Steel? Check. Supermutants? Check. People building settlements out of trash? Check.
Of course, this entirely ignores the direction that Interplay had been going with Fallout 2, with actual newly-built towns and cities, a resurgence of technology in the NCR being an actual manufacturing society, and the fact that supermutants were created by the Master and not all were brain dead morons. But Bethesda just can't let go of the gimmicks and try something new or move the story forward. It's like they're criminally addicted to nostalgia.
What a coincidence that Bethesda dropped an update out of nowhere just as Fallout:London neared its release.
This is exactly what I thought too.
Why would get sabotage london on purpose? You still need to buy F4 to play london

I still cannot fathom why they didn't just leave the PC version alone. "Next Gen" should be a term only applicable to consoles
There are legitimate improvements that could be made that PC players could make use of. But as your Boy said, it's not really a "next-gen" update. It's a spoonful of slop to capitalize on the resurgence brought by the show. For a studio operating entirely on "modders will fix it", Bethesda really goes out of it's way to make the modders' life not easy, huh.
jealousy. todd realised the modders will always do what he does better
@@justbread4570 personally I think that they are just utterly incompetent. Todd knows that modders do what they do better, and cites that as a selling point, so I doubt that they do it maliciously.
They don't think that. They unironically think the sun shines out of their ass and what they are selling is alright.
Did you see Todd at the Game awards every time Starfield was nominated and didn't win?
He thinks he is god, he deserves awards and can't even fathom the alternative.
I swear every dev and company is in a competition to see who can screw over their fanbase the hardest
That competition has been going on since 2013.
They just went to find the minimum they can do to get paid
And some pay for it , like Volition.
One exception is weirdly enough Hello Games.
Imagine if Fallout 4 kept getting massive mods every few months, but were made by the developers themselves and were forever a core part of the game's experience after each update.
That's basically what HG is doing with No Man's Sky. Each update literally feels like you installed a high effort mod only because I'm used to that actually being the case with other games.
Play indie games.
Funny how this "Update" stopped Fallout: London from taking any attention away from the TV Show.
How is Microsoft tolerating Bethesda failing this pathetically over and over? Are they going to make back those 7 billion through merch sales alone? If so, how are they going to sell merch if Bethesda ruined all their IP's? Keeping Bethesda as it is just makes Microsoft look worse in association.
Exactly, Microsoft should have the power to control the development of their Products and they have their own publishing studio/department/staff so why take on the cost of additional publishers like Actard and Bethesda Softworks. Lay off all of them, save money, and take control, Manage your IPs yourself.

When Bethesda dropped the Skyrim patch in December that ruined mods, I thought it was just gross incompetence. When they did the exact same thing to Fallout 4 a few months later, I can't help but believe this is intentional and malicious.
It would have been courtesy on their side but why do they *have* to take mods into account? Saying it's malicious is just fan boy garbage.
@@tamfuwing1 because they're aware that mods are the single reason their games are popular in the first place and that's why they release mod-breaking updates to force people to use creation club?
@@tamfuwing1 We know, and Bethesda knows, that modding is what keeps their games relevant. It gives them much more replayability than they would otherwise have. Whenever a high-profile mod is made, it gives Bethesda a ton of free marketing.
Everybody wins.
Bethesda incompetently pissing in the face of modders is discourteous, to say the least.
Maintaining compatibility would've been trivial from a technical standpoint.
They're not malicious per se, but they've demonstrated a strict policy of pretending mods don't exist, even if it's idiotic and damages their own brand.

@@unoriginalperson72 yeah I agree with that, the Fallout fanbase has been so starved for content and anything "mediocre" that they'll take anything over 4 and 76
Shocking how Todd's adoring fans still defend everything Bethesda. Or maybe they are bots, I refuse to believe they are real humans.
You compared it to Cyberpunk 2.0, but I think a more accurate (and humiliating) comparison would be Witcher 3's Next Gen update. Not only was it a genuine update in both a graphical and gameplay sense, making the game look better and addressing numerous complaints about the balancing of certain systems, but it also included a fairly lengthy new quest... with full voice acting. No little text notes needed! It turns out, voice actors like to work, and will come back if you pay them. Shocking, I know!
While we're comparing things, I've heard it said that it would be too much trouble, or too iffy from a legal standpoint, for Bethesda to just fully incorporate fan created bug fixes or mods in their game. To that, I say: popular roguelike _The Binding of Isaac_ had an enormous fan-created overhaul known as Antibirth which launched right around the time of what was supposed to be the final version of the game. Rather than shut it down, Edmund McMillan got in touch with the mod authors and straight up hired them, and although it took a while, the result was _The Binding of Isaac: Repentance,_ an absolute masterpiece that included nearly double the content of any other version of the game, including Antibirth, and is regarded as the definitive version of the game.
Passion can be such a powerful tool if you are willing to do what it takes to harness and nurture it. There is so much passion around Bethesda's games, but like everything else they have, they don't know what to do with it.
@@theguybehindyou4762Probably because they’ve spat in our faces so many times. Even when someone is being intentionally malicious, they still won’t be happy when you’re critical of it.
The worse thing about this is how it affected Fallout London. A group of passionate fans of Fallout who know more about making a game than a AAA studio felt the need to postpone their project because of Bethesda's incompetence
It's not a bug, it's feature. It's not a coincidence, it's intentional. Bethesda aren't selling it as overpriced DLC, so by video game studio logic, it's better if it's buried.

The worst part is, this update still didn't fix any bugs present from launch: namely the various game-breaking settlement bugs such as beds despawning when away from a settlement - which for whatever reason is caused by having electronics in your settlement like TVs, jukeboxes, and radios, so you're still effectively barred from having those decorations if you don't want your settlement happiness to suffer.
To think that even a company like Rockstar decided to officially incorporate a modder-made fix to speed up the infamously long loading screen to GTA Online as part of an official patch (and paid the modder for it), while Bethesda still continues to ignore the numerous fixes mods provide for their games.
It took Bethesda almost two years to work on and drop an update for Fallout 4, which added very little content, very few fixes for bugs and also added some new bugs as well... Yet Obsidian only had 18 months to make New Vegas, which to this day stands as the best _Fallout_ game to date.
To say I'm disappointed would be correct, because I was sincerely hoping for tons of new content, similar to the level of content Skyrim got with its Creation Club and the Anniversary Edition.
I get it - Starfield was the main focus for Bethesda at the time, and almost all hands needed to be on deck for that game. But as we can all see, even Starfield turned out to be middling at best. Meanwhile, Fallout 76 gets feds like the proverbial holiday hog...
I'm honestly surprised the game isn't being review bombed on Steam, Bethesda apologists are a different breed.
They damage controlled hard when the TV show butchered established lore and destroyed New Vegas, they aren't just a different breed they're full on brain dead that consume everything Bethesda releases without question and deflects criticism.
I think it is more likely that nobody plays Fallout 4 anymore even with the show coming out. I haven’t played for probably five years now even with mods.

Let's be honest. They saw the hype the show got, decided last second to make some assets for the game, then barfed out the update. There was no planning for this.
Apparently it was planned for October last year. That confirms this even more. Just scrapped the update to only use it when the hype for it was returning not to even test it themselves.

I like a few small parts of the enclave content.
But getting assaulted by the enclave for doing existing creation quests reeks of "punished for playing the content you may or may not have paid for".
They added three magazines to grant "Enclave" settlement assets, but for some reason the better, more compact power armor station couldn't be one of them.
The genuinely new, makeshift weapons are neat, but getting ammo for them is basically impossible. I had to download a MOD to allow the crafting of the ammo, since enemies rarely spawn with the weapons and ammo, and, unlike the rest of the Creation weapons which use existing ammo types, you can't benefit from Scrounger when trying to get ammo for them.
Just more, half-baked content that the community has to fix later.
Even Mojang tries to get their crap together, but I guess SOMEONE has to be the laughing stock of updating.

Bethesda is one of the most of laughably incompetent developers. I'm used to greed, I'm used to bad writing, I'm used to hype marketing, but Bethesda is the one company that pays alot of money to hire teams of game devs to sit around, do little, and break their own games. you should see what happened to some of the creation club content, which requires the latest update of the game to work.. the noir apartment or whatever its called had all of its textures removed and meshes messed up so when you finish the quest and get the key you enter it and everything around you except the doors are invisible; a lot of people bought it recently because it was on sale and now they cant even use it (me being one of them). Apart from that, you would think that they would implement a bullet counted reload system as a part of a "next gen" update, but no the game still treats one bullet missing as the entire gun needs to be emptied then reloaded, not to mention the BCR mod requires F4SE and a update by the creator of the mod to get it working and so far nothing. Leave it to Bethesda to actually downgrade a game when attempting to add content.
You cannot convince me this wasn't Bethesda sabotaging mods like London, Arroyo, 4NV, Cascadia, and Miami just because they know those mods would be better received than the TV show. And that they released *another* update just a 2 days after F4SE got updated? And that Nexus mods suffers an outage on the day that happens? All just coincidence, I'm sure.
Because people lack basic mental function (in fairness, most people liked the TV show, so case in point), I don't actually think Bethesda nuked Nexus mods, and I know Next Gen 2 (stupid name) was only to fix the cascade of errors that came with the update, mostly on Xbox. But yes, the tinfoil has ballistic weave and a few legendary effects.
No. The TV show did pretty good regardless. I wouldn't put it past being suggested though.
Ehhhhhhhh normies wouldn't be interested immediately overhauling FO4 with massive mods.
I think the devs are just under strict orders not to acknowledge the existence of mods in any way whatsoever.
Doing so makes Bethesda look bad. Maintaining compatibility would be a wink to the modding scene, and we can't have that now can we.
Take off the tin-foil hat.
Apparently London's the only one that really got screwed over; seems the others planned around the release of the Fallout show, figuring Bethesda would pull something like this once it dropped.
Nexus mods suffering an outage because people flooded it to check for updated mods wasn't part of Bethesda's plan, and if Bethesda were capable of organizing something like that, they'd be capable of making better games than they do. And releasing another update to a massive patch none of the customers were happy with within a handful of days has nothing to do with F4SE also getting updated in that time; Bethesda's trying to do the bare minimum possible to keep their games selling, while F4SE's dev is always playing catch-up because he can't know what Bethesda's going to break in each update until it drops.
There are so many heinous things Bethesda *actually* does that inventing some Pepe Silvia-tier conspiracy theory only gives them cover. Open a window and get some air.
