You’re so right about Ylang Ylang Nosy Be, it’s absolutely delicious and feels rich. It’s not overly complex but it’s still not linear. It feels like it’d be in the Amouage “Love” collection, gives a vibe of Lilac Love, but it’d be Ylang Ylang Love lol
Really enjoyed this as you always have an interesting selection. Nosey Be & extrait have been on my to try list forever; my gut tells me I'm going to love it 😂.
What a lovely collection of scents you’ve been wearing, though I haven’t tried any of them. Will definitely need to find a decant of Ylang Ylang Nosy Bee and the Atelier D’or plummy one.
Hi Henna, Greetings from Northern California. I blind bought Rouge Saray a few weeks ago and I can’t seem to put it down. It’s exactly what I imagined and hoped it would be. Another acquisition I picked up in early October that has become a fast love is Ivory Route. I know a lot of people feel quite the opposite about it, but I adore the woods in Ivory Route and it makes me want to ravish myself every time I wear it. I love your recommendations. Chypre Palatin and Ylang Ylang Nosy Be are both on my wishlist for 2025. For me 2024 has been the year I finally started to love vanilla. This year I’ve also begun discerning and appreciating patchouli (Tempo, Allure Sensuelle, Coromandel & Rosendo Mateu 7 are my current favs). AND lastly, it’s the year that I’ve started to explore vetiver. I definitely see a bottle of Chantecaille Vetyver in my future. Your review of that scent really piqued my interest. I think you’re really good at reviewing and analyzing perfumes. I also loved your blog post on the significance of a woman’s handbag in her daily life. 🪬
Hi Henna! That Ylang Nosy Be sounds intriguing. I recently smelled the new Parfum D’empire Une Belle Amour D’ete which gave me a similar feeling of being on a tropical island and the smell of flowers, suntan lotion and sweaty skin. I totally agree with you about needing something that’s a little bit challenging to keep my interest. This one fits that criteria and I’d love to hear what you think about it! Cheers 🥂
I sampled ylang 49 and found it to be more rose-patch with a touch of ylang. More of a classic scent. Not beachy and tropical smelling like the Nosy Be. The Nosy Be is concentrated ylang goodness.
Just spitballing here, but as an Italian speaker, my hunch is that the Meo Fuscini perfume is a play on words. L'oblio (noun) means oblivion, while oblio (without the definite article) is the first person present tense of "obliare" (to forget), i.e. "I forget". But what that all amounts to given the composition of notes is anybody's guess! 😂 Also, I blind bought Afternoon of a Faun in part on the strength of the Scentinel's review, in part because it has rose and immortelle, two of my favorite notes. But my nose must be broken, because I don't get any rose whatsoever. It's still nice though.🙁

It’s better than most exclusive scents. A triumph, really.
@ agreed!

Yes, do sample! Let me know what you think of the Extrait…

I hope you do! Thanks for watching!
Try Perris Monte Carlo Absolue D’osmanthe, similar osmanthus note to Sunshine but deeper incense
Ok, I’ll see if I can find it! I definitely want to try more from this house.
You’ve got to try Love and Bastani. Most realistic potent saffron perfume I have ever smelled!
And bastani is the ice cream I make every summer after being inspired by Safron Troublant. I do need to try it.
@ yes it’s saffron, Pistachio, rose and vanilla!

Thanks for your comment! I feel like I’ve been enjoying vanilla only recently too. It’s all about finding the right one…

Oh I should smell that one!
Guerlain Vetiver was a surprise!
🙂
How does YY Nosy bee compare to M Micaleffs ylang ylang ?
I haven’t smelled that one!
Hi!! Thank you for this great review. Have you tried Ylang 49 by Le Labo? How does it compare to Yy by MonteCarlo?
Ty ❤

@ thanks!! I am going to get one and try it then ❤️

ALL I get is rose but maybe it’s masked in something else. Same thing happens with The Noir 29. I get rose but a friend of mine only gets tea…
And yes in regards to l’oblio. Cool name but lost on me…
