    Thank you for this helpful information! I was wondering if you have any tips for someone about to enter college such as what classes to take and applying for certain internships. Thanks again!

      My suggestion for undergrad school is to take what you enjoy! Have fun learning. Seek courses that are intriguing to you and throw yourself into them! Then when you are done with the bachelors, pursue the MHA or MBA.

    I am debating between careers as a CNO or CEO was wondering if I should get a MSN degree or MBA in Healthcare Management. Already have a BSN, any advice?

    • @dr.jeffcomer5185
      @dr.jeffcomer5185  2 года назад +2

      Since you already have the BSN, I definitely recommend the MBA if your goal is to be a CEO or CNO. You just can't go wrong with that route.

      Whats the fastest you have seen someone become a hospital ceo? I’ve noticed everyone has ten plus years experience and dont see many positions available.

    • @dr.jeffcomer5185
      @dr.jeffcomer5185  2 года назад +4

      @@krismardula Well, it took me four years. But honestly, I wish I would have waited longer and received more experience. I always tell early careerists to take your time. There really is no rush. You will have a long time to be a CEO. BUT I was your age once too and understand the desire to get to CEO soon!
      You are right - there are not many positions available, but keep in mind that many CEO jobs are never posted - they are filled with people the hiring person knows. That is one of the reasons I talk about the importance of networking so much.

    Thank you so much Dr. Jeff for sharing your wealth of information! But when do you think someone is ready to apply for a CEO job? I mean after how many years of experience and after what kind of job profile?
    Thank you

    • @dr.jeffcomer5185
      @dr.jeffcomer5185  2 года назад

      You are welcome. I'm glad you like the videos. Once you have the education and experience I talk about in the videos then you are good to apply! The years of experience aren't necessarily as important as making sure you have the kinds of experience I discuss. Best of luck!

      Hi Phil. The alumni network can be quite valuable - particularly for your first job out of grad school. I got a tremendous first job right out of grad school entirely due to my alumni network.
      Take a look at a couple of my videos where I discuss the alumni network on your career: 1) How to Become a Hospital CEO, and 2) MHA or MBA for Becoming a Hospital CEO?
      Hope this helps!

    Hey Dr. Comer! Watched this video last night. Thank you so much for this information. The break down of how the comp structure is, who the person is (experience), the size of the hospital, the location, the type of hospital, the revenue of the hospital, and the condition of the hospital were outstanding! There is so much to consider when negotiating and accepting an offer. I will definitely keep this in mind as I move forward. Awesome video 🔥🔥🔥
