95/100 While surfing YT, I discovered your posting to be very interesting indeed. My shout out to my teachers in Manila public schools and my late uncle ( a school teacher) for instilling in me the value of learning. Having moved to the US at age 24 and traveling and meeting people from all over the world helped me store myriad of facts (and lies) in my 79 year old neurons. My continuing communication with my old college pals keeps my mind refreshed with new ideas. The moral of the story: Don't stop learning. Greetings from Virginia!
Every quiz where we get a good score is encouraging, and therefore enjoyable. I think as long as we leave it feeling that we did well, and possibly learned a bit is one where you’ll dare to revisit.
I did much better than expected, managing a 97/100. Started out pretty strong, missing my first question in the mid-60s, but lucky guesses won't last forever!😁 Thanks for another great quiz, Ben.
92/100. Geography was probably my favourite subject in school. I haven't been to too many countries in my life, but the most beautiful country I have been in is Ireland. The country I live in is vast and beautiful and that is Canada. The east coast and the west coast of Canada are very beautiful.
I got 77% correct and Ive been to about 75% of the countries. Switzerland, Italy & Iceland are the most beautiful places on your quiz that Ive been so far...

@@Yosetime I love geography--no-one should ever be shamed for pursuing or displaying knowledge. Your attitude is part of the anti-intellectual braggadocio that's made America stupid. If you had time to dismiss me with an insult, you clearly have time to be reading more.
I'm 67 yrs old and got a score of 93/100. That's partly due to extensive travels round the world, currently at 67 countries in total and partly due to my interest on geography and the net. Good video thanks 👍👍
I know grading systems can differ but in my university scores over 85% were high distinctions so I was able to still scrape one with 86/100. I'm pretty happy with that.
I'm awful at geography, and this quiz proved it. I think I might have gotten 1/3 of them correct. I enjoyed it, though. Always up to learn. Most beautiful place I've ever been is Virginia. Love that section of the Appalachian Mountains. Thank you for the quiz.
I'm with you there as we visit our son and grandchildren there annually. The most stunning countryside and four distinct seasons. I'm on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. Happy Days.
Most beautiful place I've ever been? Humm??? Snow skiing in Austria, on top of a 10,500 ft peak. Last weekend took my small 16'4" boat w 90 hp outboard around soutern tip of Monomoy, to the East side. Wide open Atlantic Ocean. Nothing between me and NW Spain. Had never done that before in my entire life. Always too dark, rough, and windy.
I visited over 50% of the places you mentioned in your questions AND got payed while doing that. I guess I was lucky to be a marine engineer. My job took me all over the world in a time when there was less life in the fast lane. I think I scored above average.
86/100. A lot of careless mistakes but overall it really refreshes my memory in abundance especially questions related to architecture and monumental design. Keep it up bro really entertaining 🔥
I missed 36. Most beautiful place I've been is Valdez, Alaska. Lived there for several months before moving to Anchorage then back to Ft Myers Florida to have my daughter. Valdez is where the Alaska pipeline ends. It is completely surrounded by mountains which are extremely beautiful in winter. Only 3 ways in and out. Boat, single road or helicopter/small plane. When I lived there in 1977 there were only 200 people. And not much room for more. Another thing I loved about Valdez is that in Alaska the wind is what's cold. In Valdez I wore a short sleeve shirt, maternity pants and snow boots. Even with 22' of snow. Anchorage is all open so it's always freezing there. My first job was in Anchorage.
You actually live next door to one of the nicest places I have visited, I mentioned Sanibel Island in my comments above, 42 years ago I was there, loved the place. Living in the north of England, where we are used to cold and rainy weather, not sure about your fav place in Alaska, sounds pretty cold up there in the winter, but I would imagine the summer would be fantastic time for an Englishman to visit Alaska. I have been following a Dutch vlogger on you tube that travels the world on a motorbike and really enjoyed her final destination which was Alaska, it does look like somewhere I would have loved to visit in my younger days. ps if your interested in the vlogger, she will definitely bring some good memories back to you of Alaska just google, Itchy Boots, season 6 Ecuador to Alaska. I enjoyed her journey on the Dalton highway to Wiseman, and then on to Prudhoe bay.
@@greenup9913 Alaska is weird in a way. If it's surrounded by mountains it isn't cold. Even in super deep snow, like Valdez is. When I was there it was winter. Snow everywhere. But I walked around in pants, short sleeve shirt and snow boots. I Anchorage however it's all open so it's freezing. My first job was a full service gas station attendant the graveyard shift. I went to work in long johns, turtleneck shirt, jacket, coat, 2 pairs of jeans, 2 sets of socks, snow boots and 2 pairs of gloves.try pumping gas, checking fluids and cleaning windshields with all that on 😂. It wasn't easy but I did it. I moved to Memphis Tennessee 3 years ago to be with my daughter and grandkids. My health was failing and no one to help me. She's now my caregiver.
Alaska is the only state I haven't been to.. The two things that come to mind when I think about Valdez are the earthquake in 1964 and the oil spill. I read a book about the earthquake and it had to be the most horrible thing ever. Now I'm in Florida and my favorite place in the USA used to be Venice, Florida. I found lots of nice sharks' teeth and red coral there. But since they rebuilt the beach to address the erosion problem, it seems the sharks' teeth disappeared underneath it all. I think I may have seen Elvis there, too, back in the old days! Now, Key West is my favorite place in the USA, and the drive from Key Largo to Key West. We used to go there quite a lot but the Keys took a terrible hit by Hurricane Irma. We went down a year after the hurricane noticed that a lot of the smaller islands were literally raked clean of anything that may have been there prior to Irma. Many of the old-timers left after Irma. I haven't been down since C19 and fear that more things changed after that and not necessarily for the better. For one thing, there is no more off season anymore and things have become more expensive year 'round. I feel some things are best just being left alone, and the way they were.
My score was 66. It’s my 1st time seeing your videos. Never formally took geography as a subject but I’m definitely interested. Is that good or bad? Idk some of my answers were hunches and guesses but I definitely learnt a lot! Especially now when those guesses or hunches turned out to be correct, I’m gonna remember them more
I don't think I got anything on the quiz from geography class, but I have always loved maps and pored over them. My having travelled made a difference to my score, too.
Really enjoyed this quiz, especially since I knew most of the answers. I've enjoyed living in the Pacific Islands, on Niue and the Cook Islands, but I love it where I live now on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. The climate suits me better here, and there's plenty of wilderness in every direction.
I scored 90/100 ... 50% learned in school and the other 50% movies & travel... lol I have been to lots of beautiful places but visiting & flying over the Grand Canyon was breathtaking.
Got exactly 70/100, and I think it’s pretty good, considering I don’t have any geographical knowledge besides school program and I haven’t been anywhere besides Kaliningrad (my hometown), some Russian cities, Poland, Germany and Baltic countries ahahah. Questions were rather interesting, which is cool. Thank you for this quiz! Edit: the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to is definitely St. Petersburg, it’s just gorgeous. But again, I haven’t visited that many places to begin with 😅
As a 76 year old with a public education from Florida, I found this test incredibly easy. I was in the Navy and I love Geography so I guess I'm not your typical student. Haha LOL
I did better than I thought I was going to do. I started out strong but then I took a lot of hits with different deserts. In the end, I scored 81 out of 100 which is pretty good in my opinion. I was trying to think of the most beautiful place I have ever been but couldn't think of a place. Most of the places I have been are capital cities drowning in smog or places I've gone courtesy of the U.S. military which are definitely not the tourist areas or the beautiful parts of a country. Parts of Washington D.C. were beautiful and there was a Cherry Blossom Garden on Okinawa that was very pretty so I am going to go with those two places.
City that made me happiest to be there was Edinburgh, Scotland! Very beautiful architecture & natural surroundings! The mtns - the Castle & King Arthur’s Seat! I didn’t keep count - got a few wrong but usually guessed well! 😊
A score of 81/100 with some contentious answers. Australia was known as the smallest continent but the largest Island when I was at school ( but we were using slate & chalk!) 😀
Yep, I was also educated that it's the smallest continent and many references still say that it is. That's why I worded the question "the largest island, that's not a continent". It got lots of people commenting, so that's good anyway 😁
Hello there! When I went to school, we were taught that there are 5 continents: Europa, Asia, Africa and North and South America. Australia was not counted as a continent because it was just one country and Antarctica was not considered at all for some reason. It seems that there are still different definitions of what constitutes a continent and what not...
@@Gittas-tube don't know where you were growing up , but I always was taught, there were 7 continents and 3 oceans, where Arctic Ocean was considered a part of Atlantic, now we have 5 oceans (I don't agree with this classification, especially Southern Ocean)
@@mironoleszczuk5660 There were 4 oceans when i went to school 40 years ago: Pacific (the biggest), Atlantic, Indian and Northern. Now we also have Southern, for some reason (symmetry?) , even in though in my times, it was just southern parts of the three oceans ). And in my country and my language we had a difference between a continent (ethno-socio-cultural and biological complex) and a landmass (piece of the Earth's crust) and had to learn the differences, for example, Eurasia was considered one landmass, but two continents, while Americas were two landmasses, but one continent, so in total there were the same number of continents and landmasses. Antarctics was not considered a continent, because no one lived there, so no specific nature or culture.
I'm a 62 year old man from Antwerp-Belgium. Education in Belgium used to be good, my score was 81/100. Few answers were wrong due to lack of time for giving an answer. (I'm getting older ...) Good quiz, thanks.
I was so excited to get your notification, then I broke out in a sweat when I saw the category. So for me 73, which is a Friday wonder. British Columbia, Canada, and Portugal have been my two favorite trips so far. Oh and London for the history. Thanks Ben, have a great weekend. Cheers Michael🇨🇦😓
Oh, I know geography isn't your strongest subject, sorry. I've not done a geography quiz for a long time, so just wanted to add one to my catalogue. The next quiz will be mixed. I don't like to make the same thing every week like some channels as I get bored doing the same thing🤣 Habe a great weekend 😁
Been to London and England a number of times. Furthest East I've been is Zell Am See, Austria. North - Edinburgh, Scotland. South - Key West, Florida. West - somewhere in Los Angeles (cuz I guess it cuts in to the East as you go South. So I think Tijuana, Mexico is further East than most of L.A.).
97/100 for me today. It would have been 98 as I second guessed an answer. But, I used TV quiz rules in that first answers are the only answer allowed. I loved this quiz. I have a bit of a passion for geography, so was slightly miffed I didn't get the full score. Thanks for taking the time to compile this. One thing, The Sahara is just, The Sahara. Sahara means desert, so adding desert to it just means the desert desert.
I didn't know that, so thanks for the info. Having said that, if I'd put one of the options as "the desert" I would of had a few complaints 🤣 . Also my favourite subject 👍😁
@johncronin7875 Actually, I did. I'm more than reasonably intelligent and take part in a lot of quizzes. My memory of facts and events is, for want of a word, phenomenal. Now, you can have your opinion. But, as you have no idea who I am or how my brain works, try to be less accusatory. I suspect that you did poorly and you are just venting.
95/100 feels ok... I'm so thankful I had a great geography teacher in 7th to 9th grade (Nanna-Lisa Gilén) in Falun, Sweden. That was over 40 years ago.
You had geography in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade? As someone from the US, that seems like a lot. I only had geography in 7th grade as part of Social Studies. We covered US states, state capitals, North American and European countries and capitals...and about 10 other world capitals. That was about it. Some people in the US take a course in high school, but I only had what geography came with US & European History. That said, I only missed 2 questions¹ because I'm self-taught and pickup trivia fairly easily. Being a history dork helps, but the only Swedish history I ever covered in school was Gustavus Adolphus and Charles XII...and all of that was outside Sweden. Any Swedish geography knowledge I have is from outside school. ---- ¹ I second guessed myself on the Rainbow Nation. I thought the Gobi Desert was bigger than the Arabian. I'm much better at political geography involving countries than deserts, mountains, rivers, etc.
I was horrified to only score 85! If I would just 🛑stop🛑 second guessing myself, it would have been 94, which really irks me. My first thoughts are more reliable than my ruminations! So many beautiful lakes, waterfalls, and islands out there. Would also love to see the baobob trees in Madagascar (I got that one right 👍). We all need to realize what a precious planet we are blessed to inhabit! I pray 🙏 many more of us will be concerned about her and decide to develop new ways for us all to respect, live in harmony with, and reverse the damage we have foolishly and needlessly done to her in the name of avarice and ignorance. AMEN! Good post, very entertaining,5⭐
There are lots of baobabs on mainland Africa, in the tropical belt, too. I've seen them in the northern part of S.Africa, in Zimbabwe and in Uganda. I don't know about the western side (like Angola) and don't remember if I saw any in Tanzania or Kenya, but a Google search would tell you. I like their spring/summer look, as they look so very naked without leaves!
78/100. I am U.S. citizen, age 65 and I was in school when Geography was part of the core curriculum with math, social studies and reading. I have limited travel experience but I did enjoy my cruise to the Bahamas. I have also been to Germany and cruised the Rhine River. Both were beautiful to me!
88/100, pretty good for me. I just guessed a lot and most times it worked. Congrats to the people who got a high score. I hope you all have a great day! P.S. I guessed like a lot of times. Only when im sure are the capitals, flags, basically every category but only a couple questions in that category.
I had thought my geography was pretty good so I was disappointed to get nine questions wrong, although like some others here I think some of the questions were ambiguous... largest capital city for example. I was however quite pleased that a few of the questions where the answer wasn't in my current knowledge set (ie. I had never consciously thought about this before) could be rapidly worked out from my general geographical and geological knowledge - the world's warmest and shallowest oceans for example. In general I take a 'big picture' approach to geography, as I do towards the subject I used to teach (history), and I think it's more important to know that Australia is the world's driest continent than to remember which despotic little Gulf statelet has built the world's tallest phallic symbol.
81/100 Super game! I really enjoyed this one, Ben. My home state is the most beautiful place I've ever been. If I were to travel, Bora Bora would be my first destination. Have a great weekend! 👍😎 🛖
96/100 Enjoyed the quiz thank you. But then I like geography, but have a quiz about botany, art or popular music, suspect I would struggle to get 10/100. Incidentally the Lake Michigan/Huron complex is considered by limnologists to be one single lake (they are connected by a 'straight' of 4 miles wide, and both 'lakes' are at the same level) which has a surface area greater than Superior.
They have to convey this knowledge to geography teachers and place it into textbooks then, because we all learnt that Lake Superior has the biggest area among the Great Lakes, and there are 5 Great Lakes, not 4 out there.
I missed 5. Good quiz! My favorite place, that I’ve been thus far, is Jamaica. 2nd would be the Black Hills of South Dakota-best of 2 worlds-beaches & rugged mountains/badlands.
92/100. More like 95 but I second guessed myself and was wrong on three. Should've gone with my first answer on those. A fun, wholesome quiz for anyone to take. This is the internet at its best -- as an educational tool.
86/100. 61 years old from Denmark. No video pause or cheating! Made some blunders but also some lucky guess. Visited many of the places including Australia, Greenland, Giza, Beijing, Colorado River and most of Europa. But not so familiar with Asian and South America geography
5:05 despite being the driest continent Australia has some quite wet cities. Sydney, Brisbane and Darwin are very wet. Only Darwin of those is tropical. Just goes to show just how dry the interior of the land is.
87/100 here. Thx for this fun quiz! Oahu far exceeded my expectations the 1st time I was fortunate enough to travel there. The aroma, color and variety of the flowers I found were magical.

Surfing is a vastly different thing than being on internet or youtube.
I scored 90/100! However I discovered half way through; if in doubt guess for No 1.
Which was nearly always right.
I got 87outof 100 im 84 years old a lot came from my royal navy time the rest from news and films over the years all very interesting thank you .
Great score 👍 thanks for playing
Wow 👏
Every quiz where we get a good score is encouraging, and therefore enjoyable.
I think as long as we leave it feeling that we did well, and possibly learned a bit is one where you’ll dare to revisit.
I did much better than expected, managing a 97/100. Started out pretty strong, missing my first question in the mid-60s, but lucky guesses won't last forever!😁
Thanks for another great quiz, Ben.
I got 98/100
I really enjoyed this quiz. Thank you!
Just choose answer #1 if unsure😊
LMAO, total bull crap.
I got 102
Im surprised you have iceland on your list. Nothing but snow caps, volcanoes and black soil. Not the most hospitable place on earth.
This was a good exercise.I look forward to more. Thanks

As a 77 year old lady who circled the globe multiple times, I ended up with 93/100.
I am surprised that I missed those 7 questions.🙄
only3 times I went abroad (from Romania) and each times for just1-2days - I failed 18 questions - that' s good enogh I think for someaone who (they could say) never left "homeland" (I'm 66)
At 71, I got only 93 correct as well, and I'm ashamed!
@@prototropo Oh please! Get over yourself. That is like passive bragging. Silly.
Thanks for sharing!
Happy Days.
You'd get a third correct by chance LOL
They were all multiple choice with 3 choices.

Great exercise! I'm from Romania, 69 years old and the result 76/100. Thanks!
Great job!
I visited over 50% of the places you mentioned in your questions AND got payed while doing that. I guess I was lucky to be a marine engineer. My job took me all over the world in a time when there was less life in the fast lane. I think I scored above average.

wow that's cool
according to the people in here the Average is in the 90"s LMAO

79/100. I'm 38. Love geography. Still have lots to learn))
Thanks for sharing 😌
@@greenup9913
Alaska is weird in a way.
Especially now when those guesses or hunches turned out to be correct, I’m gonna remember them more
Use your curiosity. look up places on You tube. Topics, too. Sometimes the videography is outstanding, so be picky.
I don't think I got anything on the quiz from geography class, but I have always loved maps and pored over them. My having travelled made a difference to my score, too.
93 out of 100! Very good but I have to say that most questions were of moderate difficulty. Thank you!
I got 78 and I am pretty happy with it. Thank you for the quiz, really enjoyed taking it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wilderness in NYC, try The Bronx!!
@@Quizzes4U I actually went to boarding school in London so got a pretty good education there 😷

I have been to lots of beautiful places but visiting & flying over the Grand Canyon was breathtaking.
But again, I haven’t visited that many places to begin with 😅
I only recently learnt about Kaliningrad. 👍

@@daphnebloomfield380I think they mean St. Petersburg, Russia, not St. Petersburg, Florida!
I agree that St Petersburg (in Russia) is very beautiful. When I was there, it was called Leningrad.

Awesome! Thank you!
Greetings to everyone from Tajikistan.
82/100
For me, the difficult questions were about rivers and volcanoes.
Hi to Tajikistan 👍😁
Japan is on my wish list. One day I will go and see the cherry blossom
Thanks for the quiz Mr Ben. It was interesting and educative.

Slate and chalk...same here
Hello there!

I really enjoyed the quiz! The most beautiful place I’ve ever been is a tie between Tulum, Mexico and Lake Atitlan, Guatemala!
I don't think Tulum would have featured as my most beautiful ever visited but would certainly have been near the top for the most interesting place.
I got 77/100--Used to know them all back when I was in high school LOL! 🗺
Same for me. This subject is not a strong area for me, but I do really enjoy his quizzes.
Sure you got 97 …sure you did
@johncronin7875 Actually, I did.
You are genius, me only 87😒😒
@goettling 87 is still a very good score. Think of it like this. You knew 87% of the questions put to you about the geography of a whole planet.

Thanks, that's great to hear 😊

¹ I second guessed myself on the Rainbow Nation.
No worries, that's pretty good! Don't be hard on yourself.
Answered 22 out of the first 25 correctly, evens out to the same score. :)

Yes, botany, please, please, please. I'm good at that.
They have to convey this knowledge to geography teachers and place it into textbooks then, because we all learnt that Lake Superior has the biggest area among the Great Lakes, and there are 5 Great Lakes, not 4 out there.
