G’day Tania, I spent years driving tourists around Australia on adventures and understand how simple things that we consider just normal can be so interesting to tourists and anyone from another country. I mean for me seeing Kangaroos, koalas etc in the wild is pretty normal but easy to forget others never see that.
However when it comes to Ukraine, for me at least, it’s more than just your architecture and culture it’s also the defiance of simply living your life despite what those monsters are doing.
Plus now everytime I see a Ukrainian Granny I instantly flash back to the awesome Supergranny who told those invaders to get lost and yelled at them until they ran away 🤗🧡

I just love such markets! I like small business as well. We don't have many such markets where I am. There are two that I know of, but they are not like what you have and very expensive. We used to have a number of such markets about 10 years ago, but none of them have anything but food, strictly produce and baked goods, no meat, but that was fine because the quality of what they had was high and the prices low.
The food quality in the US, especially from supermarkets and such is fairly poor. Most food in the US is processed to some degree up to heavily processed. The produce in our supermarkets labeled "Organic" is not actually organic, you can tell by comparing it to the non-labeled same item. They use "Organic" just so they can charge a lot more.
$26 USD for all that you got is fantastic! It would be almost three times that here!
Tanya, thank you so much for sharing part of your life in video! Every time I watch, I find myself wishing I could be there with you to experience it all. I'm almost jealous of Misha, lol! (I misheard his name, thinking it was Masha, oops).
I have a jacket from Ukraine I wear all the time, I have had it for years. I got it in a regular store here in California and it just happens to be from Ukraine according to the label, it is Claiborne brand, if that means anything.
Some Ukrainians are really freaked out and it is understandable, but there is no need to be that way with you! I wonder what they would say if you told them that your videos have an English speaking audience from around the world, such as the US. I wonder if that would calm them down a little or make things worse. I don't know, I'm sure at least some Ukrainians know that half the US doesn't like Ukraine and doesn't want to help and that a certain Presidential candidate actually hates Ukraine and wants it to fall to Putin.
It is best to ask permission because some people may not be as open-minded or open-hearted at least at first. Can't they just tell you are Ukrainian and would not do anything to harm anybody? That may just be my extra sensory abilities talking though.
Did the boss of the market understand after you explained it to him?
Maybe let them know that there are people who watch your channel that care about and love Ukraine. Wish I knew Ukrainian language, I know "yes", "no", "go ahead" and "thank you", but that is about all. (Those words sound the same as Russian words to my ear and are the first words I learned in Russian, which I also know very little of).
I wish people in the US where like you and others helping the elderly. The babushkas are the hardest working people in Ukraine I think sometimes.
I miss my grandmother and grandfather. My grandmother made the best chicken salad in the world. I can't replicate it and I'm a trained cook. She also made everything from scratch and I don't have such a kitchen to do that.
Any video you choose to do is wonderful! It is sharing part of your life!
Love you Tanya. Thank you for sharing!
    Slava Ukraini!

    Pryvit Tanya!
Such an interesting video on food. I lived in Brazil decades ago and we bought fresh food just like that in markets. And yes, something that north americans dont understand for the most part, the food all tasted better. Its picked ripe, not raw, and shipped around the world. And with who knows what chemicals. And that was before GMOs and more. North America really does need a do over of food systems. The factory food mentality and mega farms is BS, not to mention how cruel it is for the animals. Ukraine system, like many places, is better, it tastes better, and it is healthier. It also provides more work for more people. People before profit of every last cent. It is a hard habit large corporations wont want to change.

Don't forget . . . President Zelensky I believe it was either the end of June or early July of this year, 2024, made the English language the second spoken one in Ukraine and that army and government personnel must know English and be able to speak it. It will take time for this to become widespread throughout Ukraine. I sit here chuckling while writing this as I have been learning to speak the Ukrainian language for some time, including earlier today. I was either in Warszawa, L'viv, or Odesa this summer when it was reported on the news that English was the second language of Ukraine. I was very happy about this because it will help Ukrainians become more integrated in the world and the European Union.

Great vegetables and fruits in the rynik/ ranok. Will be eating to my hearts content when I plan to resides temporary in Ukraine. Probably I need to buy meats and fishes. Ukraine with its fertile earth, I probably will be growing peaches, plum, sweet cherry, blueberries, tomato, cucumber, dills, herbs. Maybe raises some chicken, cows for milk. Anything that grows in that fertile land, it flourishes. When, I first visited Ukraine many years ago to the outskirt of chernihiv, I couldn't believe seeing the black earth. Don't know why those people in the market gave you a hard time. I saw a few other guy, women in y.t was filming the cost of daily food in open air market in darnytsya, atb, Would be interesting if film more of the prices comparison during summer and autumn. Another great places is the Carpathian, hotspring and a freezeing dip during winter in swimming suit in the river. Tour and reporting on Kharkiv will be interesting as it is the most bomb out town by some menacing neighbours. Maybe need to smile a bit and friendly approaches when filming in the public. Don't look unapproachable either when dealing in the open public. 😊 Need to be a bit thick skin , who cares ? 😅

I’m guessing you probably had a really hard time finding healthy food in the US?
It’s true everything is too commercialized and heavy emphasis on processed foods. One of the worst things to fall into that trap. Don’t ever lose that in your country. Healthy, homegrown food, organic and pesticide free is the best way to go. Which is why people were healthier in America, 100 years ago. I was never healthier and felt better when I grew up near my grandparents farm

I certainly understand the paranoia. That bastard, Daniel Martindale, was just evacuated to Russia after spying on Ukraine for the last two years. Sorry to say that he was an American national.
On a positive note, you can tell those shop owners that if some of your subscribers ever come to Kyiv, they will say they saw these markets on your channel. Looks like nice healthy food.
At the start of the video, did you say Ukraine vegetables taste good compared to American produce? What did the American stuff taste like to you?

Hello:) in US from shops feels like less taste, not enough taste let’s say in the salad and chicken that I bought. But I was without the car so it was complicated to go somewhere for shopping so I used the closest store to my home

Hello sweet Tanya and Misha. Nice to see a Market and everything looks good. Is it still cheap with all this in Ukraine or ? Anyway, it seems to be working pretty well even though you are at War with an insane Country next to you. You have it pretty good there anyway and seem to be able to take people well. Some distrust you when you go with a camera, but what does it matter. But it's still pretty lonely without a lot of guys in their 20s and 30s, but most of them are probably brave soldiers. Kisses to you, darling. Delle in Sweden

It’s cheaper than in supermarkets, but for some people it’s hard to afford food

I can understand how people may be concerned, especially if they are unfamiliar with technology and how it can be used for military intentions by the bad guys. Just remind people Russia has excellent satellites above earth that they can even read the license plates off of cars; so Russia does not need your videos. I am sure Ukraine has similar satellite technologies or has access to the EU and American allies satellites for commercial (business applications such as managing large farms....). Your videos do not provide the locations, OSINT specialists have to process your videos to get the locations. I do not think Putin like to use his million dollar missiles to target your broccoli and potatoes 😊 As long as you follow the guidelines that Ukraine government has created for you and other RUclipsrs, for example not filming or photographing military objects and damaged areas and delay the release of the videos , it should be minimal risk. I am sure you are following the government guidelines for inside Ukraine. On the positive side, your videos shows the brave people of Ukraine living normally in their country and Ukrainian government taking good care of its citizens and there are no shortages and people are not hoarding which I am sure is a big disappointment to Putin.
