- Large vortex fog chiller made from an old Coleman cooler. Fog machine is a Chauvet Hurricane 1302.
PVC used is 3” and my design includes three 90° elbows. Inlet tube is held in place with a coupler on each side. Outlet tube is held in place with two 1” clamps made from slices of PVC. Every connection is sealed with silicone
Ice shelf is made out of a diffuser panel for a 2’x4’ ceiling light, cut to size with a jigsaw. www.homedepot.com/p/Plaskolit...
And here’s the fog fluid I used: www.amazon.com/dp/B001DJZNHW/...

I seen somewhere that a guy wet his grass so the fog could stick more to the ground, either way your chiller worked, great video 👍🏽
I’ve tried that once and didn’t see much of a difference. I’ll have to try it again. Thanks for watching!
That’s working pretty good!
Impressive!!
Thats awesome
Thank you for watching!
Great video! I has the same fogger your using and it's one of the best out there. I feel your pain as the same happened to me. I think the issue your having is the fogger is almost too hot for that size chiller. Try relocating the fogger further from the chiller. You will have to add more pvc to extend it away from the chiller. This will allow the smoke to cool before it hits the chiller. Secondly I would suggest a shorter run time on the fog. Give it time to sit in the chiller. Good luck and happy haunting!
Thanks for the comment. This is a great idea. I too had the thought that the fog is running through the chiller way too quickly. Going to have to mess with the output settings. Quick blasts at a less intense output I think would help greatly as well.
Some have used a fan to help push through the tube
Needs more ice throw a couple of Snapple bottles full of water in the freezer and slide them in the tube just watched a video where the someone had the liner lower for more ice as well good luck
Usually the 1st shot is ok after that it gets better.
The flaw with these chillers is to have a flap at the bottom outlet to keep cold air IN while there is no fog leaving.
How long does the ice last? Thank You!!
That’s all relative. Depends on how warm/cold your ambient temp is, how often the hot fog is entering the chiller, etc. I use this for a 2 hour period during trick or treat, there’s some melting but not enough that I have to drain the cooler.
This is awesome. What about using dry ice? Would that work?
I bought about 20lbs dry ice last year and distributed it between this chiller and a smaller one I use (see my other video). I mixed the dry ice with regular cubed ice. I didn’t see a huge difference, but it was also exceptionally cold out 20°F or so by the time trick-or-treat was over, due to a snowstorm the previous day. I will be trying again this weekend.
@@PleasantStreetCemetery awesome thank you for the reply. Saved me from buying it. Regular ice it is.
@@Emilthehun keep in mind it would have definitely made a difference if it was warmer outside. I was experiencing very out of season temps and no matter how cold my fog was, it was still warmer than the ambient temp.
What fog souloution do u use
As shown in this video, its Froggy’s Freezin’ Fog Juice. There’s a link in the description. This year I went back to Bog Fog (also from Froggy’s.)
