Candy Chute & Hand Sanitizer Station for Halloween trick-or-treat 2020 COVID-19

My inspiration for this candy chute can be found here: ruclips.net/video/35WPfUykEaE/видео.html This is a simple candy chute I made for this year’s trick-or-treat. It was not required by my town, but I figured both parents and kids alike would think it was fun and it adheres to social distancing guidelines. • @PleasantStreetCemetery

      I bought about 20lbs dry ice last year and distributed it between this chiller and a smaller one I use (see my other video). I mixed the dry ice with regular cubed ice. I didn’t see a huge difference, but it was also exceptionally cold out 20°F or so by the time trick-or-treat was over, due to a snowstorm the previous day. I will be trying again this weekend.

    Great video! I has the same fogger your using and it's one of the best out there. I feel your pain as the same happened to me. I think the issue your having is the fogger is almost too hot for that size chiller. Try relocating the fogger further from the chiller. You will have to add more pvc to extend it away from the chiller. This will allow the smoke to cool before it hits the chiller. Secondly I would suggest a shorter run time on the fog. Give it time to sit in the chiller. Good luck and happy haunting!

    • @PleasantStreetCemetery

      Thanks for the comment. This is a great idea. I too had the thought that the fog is running through the chiller way too quickly. Going to have to mess with the output settings. Quick blasts at a less intense output I think would help greatly as well.

      I believe this question was meant to be the same question I have, which is that it appears that the fog outlet pipe is only 1" to 2" off the bottom of the bucket so the melt water will eventually flow out that hole. Seems like you use this outside so that is not an issue for you, but would make this less effective for indoor use. Can you confirm that this will eventually leak melt water? I am trying to come up with an effective design that is essentially what you have made, but that can contain all the melt water

    • @isometrixk
      @isometrixk 2 года назад

      @@keithcox2003 I think what would make this design drastically better is to change the outlet where fog escapes. You can keep it on the bottom but make a 90 elbow straight up. Then another pipe straight up to at least the height of the container. Then, another 90 elbow out - basically forcing cold fog UP and OUT. This will help 2 design flaws: Cold air escaping at the bottom and water leakage. The force of new fog will push the chilled fog up and out and it should be even colder than before. In fact, I want to test this on my own but it makes sense in my mind.

    • @djmadrik
      @djmadrik 8 месяцев назад

      @@isometrixk Outlet should always be bigger than the inlet, If you using say a 1.5" inlet the outlet should be at least 2" out. Having it the same size your increasing the dwell time the hot fog is in contact with the ice so it's going to melt it faster. But if the outlet is bigger it can escape faster so it not only makes the ice last longer it also prevents any back flow of fog so less chance of leaking out the chiller.

    • @AFpaleoCon
      @AFpaleoCon 4 года назад

      @@sophiflower The way I solved it was by jacking both tires up and putting the truck into drive and the rotors rotated a bit and just came crashing off for some reason. HOWEVER, the entire parking brake assembly came off in the process and there is ZERO info online of how to put it back together so I had to use my engineering know how and the other parking brake as reference (thankfully that rotor came off) and even then with two people it was very hard to get it back together. But ultimately the rotor came off and I was able to do the whole job. But if it's bonded as hard as mine was, you're going to sheer the little pins that hold the parking brake right through their little metal nipples if you start cranking on it with bolts like I did.

    Love the tutorial. I'm trying to host an awesome Halloween party this year and want to have the whole floor of a 2100sqft condo covered. It's all one floor, thinking of positioning three or so of these strategically. How long does the ice last before needing replacing? What do you do with the water that comes from it melting? Does it end up dripping out the exhaust? I guess you can raise the exhaust a bit if you needed to. Can the cold smoke be routed with piping? PVC or any kind does it matter? Would metal dryer ducting be best since it might remain cold? Wouldn't mind having one of these in the corner with 10 or so feet of ducting in two or three directions to have it pump out in different locations.

    It's just a fluid level alarm. If you had read the manual you would know that and it literally says on the box there is a fluid level alarm. Every fog machine with such alarm has some defect where it detects a low fluid when it is thicker fog liquid. Best thing to do is to take the cover off and unplug the little alarm inside it.

    • @PleasantStreetCemetery

      DrSocky Thanks for this condescending answer. This video was made several years ago and I am now well aware that the whine was due to the low liquid alarm vibrating. If you check my other videos, you’ll see I bought another and snipped the wires so the alarm wouldn’t vibrate anymore.

Mine did the same thing so too, it's the low fluid alarm, I guess they all have that defect, to save yourself time and money just open it up, there are about 10 screws around the top cover, take is off and you'll see the round little alarm, unscrew the 2 nuts, the 2 wires (black & Red) coming out of it are plugged to the board, unplug it and done!!! I had to unscrew the board to get a better grip on the plug but that was easy!!! Now it works quietly like it should!! Just keep track of your fluid level.
