  • *UPDATE* I have another video detailing that the whine is due to the low liquid alarm vibrating while the fog machine is in use. Link is below. Thanks for all the insight!
    • FIXED! Party City fog ...
    A short video review of Party City's 1000w Fog Machine by Seasonal Visions International. Machine emits a very high-pitched whine while in use, has done this with two machines so far. This second machine will be returned.

    I just bought this today. The unit isn't screaming but it is making a sound but with no fog. Sound is bad but not as bad as that one in the video

    Opened the top (10 screws) and unplugged the alarm. Works perfectly.

    It's just a fluid level alarm. If you had read the manual you would know that and it literally says on the box there is a fluid level alarm. Every fog machine with such alarm has some defect where it detects a low fluid when it is thicker fog liquid. Best thing to do is to take the cover off and unplug the little alarm inside it.

      DrSocky Thanks for this condescending answer. This video was made several years ago and I am now well aware that the whine was due to the low liquid alarm vibrating. If you check my other videos, you’ll see I bought another and snipped the wires so the alarm wouldn’t vibrate anymore.

    I saw another video and it helped. Unscrew the top and unplug the speaker. Which is the red and black wire . and the noise stops and all u hear is the motor.

    That models has a alarm speaker in it that's mounted on the frame next to the pump. It picks up crazy feedback through the speaker. Open then case and just unplug it from the board . Two pin connection. Put the case back together and done. Just have to watch fogger levels because the alarm speaker is disconnected. Also you can make your own fogger juice with 3 parts distilled water and 1 part pure glycerine you can pick up at most drug stores. Its the same blend as the over priced ones you buy at the party stores.

    I just purchased one of these and it does the same thing yours did. However mine has an added sticker on the box that reads as follows;
    (This machine has a "low reservoir" alarm. A beeping noise will sound when the reservoir is low warning you to refill it so the motor does not burn out. In some cases thicker density fog liquids will not shut off the alarm. As a preventive measure. always dilute your fog liquid with one part water to three parts fog liquid.)
    Yet the fluid container and the machine's manual instruct that we should never dilute or add other liquids to the fluid. !!!
    To be honest I am not confident i should try and fix it.
    Thanks for your video!!

      Luc Paquette thanks for the comment and suggestion. This was not the low liquid alarm. I made sure to set that off intentionally so I could hear what it sounded like.

      @@PleasantStreetCemetery I was looking at one of these and came across your video, just trying to clarify. In another comment 11mo ago, you mentioned it actually was this alarm, but that it had malfunctioned, is that right?

    • @PleasantStreetCemetery
      @PleasantStreetCemetery  4 года назад +1

      Nero Fallen the machine was vibrating the alarm when it was in use, causing the high pitched whine. I snipped the wires to the alarm and the problem stopped. You can also unplug the wires.

    Look it's a good machine that does the job for a cheap price!! Mine did the same thing so too, it's the low fluid alarm, I guess they all have that defect, to save yourself time and money just open it up, there are about 10 screws around the top cover, take is off and you'll see the round little alarm, unscrew the 2 nuts, the 2 wires (black & Red) coming out of it are plugged to the board, unplug it and done!!! I had to unscrew the board to get a better grip on the plug but that was easy!!! Now it works quietly like it should!! Just keep track of your fluid level.

    A lot of sellers make fake wattage's up, probably not 1000w

      Ampedelectric I'm curious to know if that will make any difference because I intentionally made the alarm sound on mine and it wasn't this noise. Report back and tell me if you had any luck!

      Pierre Escargot the noise is fixed! I pulled out the alarm wire

      You could probalbly try and dilute fog liquid with DISTILLED WATER, maybe that would stop it sounding

  • @Gettingcomfywithluna

    It does that to mine too

    Such a bummer!!! We just bought ours last night and it's doing the same thing! So obnoxious and so loud! We will be returning ours. One other thing to note is the young girl working at Party City insisted you are supposed to dilute the fog juice; this is absolutely not true, the instructions on the machine say do not put water in this machine. Any recommendations for a place to buy a good one? The machine puts out really nice fog, but the noise is unbearable.

      Andrew Naranjo a lot of commenters are saying to remove the low liquid level alarm or snip the wires. Something I wish I had known at the time. As far as fog juice goes, I’ve heard very good things about Froggy’s- especially freezin’ fog or bog fog. Both are on Amazon.

    • @PleasantStreetCemetery
      @PleasantStreetCemetery  7 лет назад

      Andrew Naranjo My bad, I see you were asking about the machine, not the fog juice. I’ve been thinking about purchasing a Chauvet Hurricane 1300, also on Amazon.

      Pierre Escargot thanks for the reply. Bog fog is what I'm using, it's great! It makes really thick long lasting fog, I highly recommend it.

      Pierre Escargot then thats weird. maybe it could be something in the heating element but idk man. mine has worked fine for the past year after cutting those wires

      No reason to cut the wires. lol. There's usually a terminal at the opposite end of the wire from the speaker. You simply use pliers to disconnect it.

    How do you disconnect this?? I just bought one for a Halloween movie party I’m having in a few weeks and I don’t want people to think it’s our smoke alarm (my mom sometimes tends to trigger it while cooking especially when we have people over and it’s so annoying)

    • @PleasantStreetCemetery
      @PleasantStreetCemetery  3 года назад

      If you take off the housing cover you’ll see the alarm bell and a red and black wire attached to it going to a small plug on a circuit board. Unplug it from the circuit board or snip the wires. I have another video showing this.
