- Today is a DIY video to construct a giant trashcan vortex-style fog chiller for Halloween! I know the fog isn't sitting on the ground well, it was a windy day when I tested this.
This was built following the tutorial posted on Halloween Forum by Huu Minh: www.halloweenforum.com/thread...

Made one of these when I was 19. One continuous length of dryer duct, no shelf. Pour ice over the ducting. My only drawback was my budget and I couldn’t afford a decent unit like I have now - DJChauvet 1600 to pump through all the coils of ducting in the trash can. PVC will insulate the ice from fog and result in wasted money and fog output.
In this the fog is going directly through the ice which is sitting on the shelf. It isn't insulated by the PVC, the PVC is only there to get the fog from the input/machine to the top of the trash can do it can then make it's way down through the ice then out the output hole.
If you take a 10' piece of 4 inch black corrugated pipe ($4.99 at Menards) and slide 8 frozen bottles of water in it you'll have a fog chiller without any cutting or gluing.
This is how I did it one year actually, it worked OK, but I am going to try a cheaper/easier version of this video this year. Just the trash can and coiled dryer vent hose.
Lol did way too much work muh guy. 10$ for 8ft 4 inch dryer flex, get a trash can, cut two 4inch holes on opposite ends. One end of flex around fog machine, other end out front hole with a small cardboard box, tape up box cut slit bottom of front of box away from trashcan. Add ice over the flex, get a rolling fog.
Great job!! I bought the Cumulus and when machine dies, I’m building this instead. Thanks for the content
I actually am gonna use this! Once the Rona is done, my old Rocky cast in Memphis is gonna remake Plan 9 from Outer Space. This will mean I don't have to rent a fog machine, and will have an even better effect!
You can make smaller versions with kitty litter boxes, coolers, etc...
Needlessly complex and laborious.
my inner child is screaming at the fact that you have a rosco for home haunting... also i need footage of this at work inside your garage with no wind.
Outstanding job.
Maybe we missed it, but did you drills holes in the bottom to drain the water from the melted ice?
I've made a couple of these and my first one had a hole with a little plug for water from melted ice. The challenge was that around the chiller, the ground got a bit messy. Going forward, I've always used dry ice. It's colder, chills the fog a bit better, and it doesn't melt. So if you have access to dry ice, that will give you the best performance.
Where did you get your booster fan? I have a long run of sewer pipe with the holes in it and that is an easy add for mlm ore output for my 3k watt fogger
It's linked in the description below the video
Can you show me more on how it works?
What was the point in the 1st screen?
What was the matter with the first pc. of wire. Add the pizza tray after you use the first pc. of wire. That would work also.
Hätte 3 Gitter gekauft man kann sich ja mal verschneiden . :-)))))
too bad it doesn't work all that well after all that work.
Dude, you must have OCD. Who cares if a little bit of the ice falls through the screen, most of the ice is going to melt anyways. Lol!
No no no No
This really isn't worth it. The fog barely stays low and ANY air movement from wind or people walking by blows it right up in the air like normal fog. Might work for video where you don't need the fog on the ground for too long, but anything else and it's honestly just better to not even bother with a fog chiller.
If you MUST have the low lying fog effect then just use dry ice.
This ain’t it chief.
All that for the same results as a Walmart fog machine can do smh
this isn't overkill, this is over massacre, you should have just paid the extra $30 and got the commercial machine that does it all for you.
Lol imagine this dude working on your car or your house.
This guy is a pro😂😂😂
